TWO months ago, residents of Kagiso and Munsieville went on the rampage after a 30-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped.

But on Friday the woman was arrested and charged with perjury after it emerged she was never kidnapped and had just gone to visit her boyfriend!

During the destructive protests in Munsieville and Kagiso, Mogale City, police stations and cars were vandalised by furious residents who claimed Nigerians were feeding young women drugs to turn them into prostitutes.

Krugersdorp police spokeswoman Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said: “The 30-year-old previously alleged she had been kidnapped from the Krugersdorp CBD by unknown males.

“She alleged she was later dropped off in the Kagiso area and went to Kagiso Police Station for safety.”

Residents reacted angrily to news of the arrest. Vusi Mabunda (25) said he nearly lost his job after angry residents had blocked his car.

“The lives of police and motorists were on the line because there was nowhere to pass,” he said.

“Properties were burned, police stations and cars stoned and burned, shops looted, roads blocked, dozens of people injured and many arrested. How can someone just lie and cause so much chaos?

Mashale said the suspect would appear in Kagiso Magistrates Court on 11April.

She said Krugersdorp police wanted to remind residents that making a false statement under oath was a criminal offence.

i could only help the best i could. i remember taking messages to Nigeria for about 5 other guys with a lockup number for identification to their families to reach them. i am aware that came out one week later cos you need to fund your flight back home if not you will die in there.

Nope , its not a conflicting identity(if you mean his name appearing Igbo and or,place of origin Benin City, he could be igbo but he could also be from Edo state. Edo state have Igbo speaking tribe and people, who are originally from Edo state(The Igbanke people) He could be from The Igbanke tribe , a big community/Town located on the border between Edo and Delta state.

My brother that was place of birth. Check your passport and you will see it. Igbanke doesnt use those names. they use more of Esan names. that must be an Igbo man born in Benin city. Mine has Kaduna
