JFK was talking to a nation that takes care of its own people. Its easy for me to think of how to give back to America so long as i have my daily SS checks, subsidized health care, free tuition to college, high standard of living e.t.c.
I concur and appreciate you using the word NATION
LOL. Buhahahaha. Boy, that was the dumbest thing I have read all week. Ehs, I respect you but imagine that I wrote this about a hypothetical country named Muwonleru: "Although the government of Muwonleru victimizes her people, cares not for their safety and lives, and endlessly embezzles from the national treasury, Muwonleru is not a shameful nation." How would you feel about my assessment? Once again, I can't help but to laugh: Buahahaha.
Interesting, cool picture you just painted and I will let you be the judge. It will be safe to assume you're in Pasadena and familiar with what's happening in Bell, is Bell a shameful city?

I understand your point, and splitting hairs on behalf of Nigeria was one of my professions, but this here simply makes me furious!

How much more can we take as a people. How much more can our kids take. How long are the so-called elders of this nation going to be walking around the planet as emperors without clothes selling snake oil.

Without security of life and property we might as well write-off any other plans we have, including the upcoming elections. There is nothing simpler than that to grasp!

To me this makes ours a shameful nation - though we do have individuals of integrity and repute, but in our representations as a nation, we are projected to the world by shameless officials and institutions.
Your point well taken and opinion highly commended, J F Kennedy said "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. Is time for us as individuals to start making conscious effort to better our nation and look less on others.

With all due respect, I'm a huge fan of your thread-point but disagrees with your heading, We are NOT a shameful nation but our government may be.
Politics › Re: Mend Strikes As Threatened, 7 Confirmed Dead by ehs(m): 8:01pm On Oct 01, 2010
It's very unfortunate that people are losing their life over mess that true government can easily handle. As long as the nation allows all these petty crimes from kidnapping to now bombing, our beloved country will end up the safest heaven for terrorism. Intervention! intervention! intervention! is the only solution to our problem/s and not point fingers and blaming others without a way forward solution. Everything happening today, if unaddressed, will be child's play a year from now. God bless our great nation and good luck to us and ours.

Reality is that people know those doing these mess, unfortunately in a lawless environment, you will either play to survive or be a victim, we can only be optimistic and hope for the best.

Family › Re: When Is A Man Old Enough To Marry? by ehs(m): 7:25am On Sep 30, 2010
Life without happiness is almost torture, in my humble opinion it will be best to settle down when you find the right person, true love, at least 55% of what you desire from a partner and ready for responsibility.
Family › Re: What Are Your Views On Retirement Care Homes / Old Peoples Homes? by ehs(m): 6:50am On Sep 30, 2010
Culturally, retirement home is not our thing, in most Nigerian cultures, the elderly retires in the village. I feel is worth giving a chance as long as the caregivers will maintain good ethic and not resort in abusing those under their care and is worth stating that in most African society is considered a taboo

I have been told by many that "I am one of a kind" but my belief is that you and every single person on the planet is and can be one of a kind. You are what you eat (mentally) and you are how you treat yourself and others. lololol, so you are calling me out huh? Andhuh? As far as your not believing that I live in the U.S. sounds like a dilemma you will need to deal with when you look in your mirror. I have nothing to prove to anyone but to my God, my self, my man and my family.   I am definitely born, bred and have lived in the U.S. for my ENTIRE life and rest assured that isn't anything to brag on,   Everyone is different.  How does one sound like they live anywhere?  There are millions of people in the U.S. and in Nigeria that think differently. People all over the world in different locations have good morals, intelligence, compassion, creativity, humor - even more so when God is at the center of your circumference.
LOL, no comment dear, go ahead with your bad self, interesting post and please go through your post again and make corrections as needed, good luck

WOW! there are bad/good people in all works of life, blames and pointing fingers are not the best solution to problem. While this may sound mean, I will recommend Jerry John Rawlings theory of wiping crime be use on all kidnappers.

Great love for Aba, is very sad that people now feel very uncomfortable and unsafe in Aba, If the politicians doesn't have something to gain in all these mess, the government could have stepped-in in full force and deal with this issue. The big picture Nigerian government is not paying attention to, is that they are letting this situation get out of hand as a result leaving Aba open for terrorist and rebels safe heaven.

Shy-one, I don't mean to call you out but you sound very much unlike in the US. They said you can take a horse to the river but can't force him/her to drink. Exposure, intelligent, good moral and knowledge plays huge role when it comes to romantic/passionate. People tend to display what they know and be who they are, with open mind, those that are not can learn.
Romance › Re: Seeking Your Ex And Wanting To Fix It All Over Again? (Mature Minds Only) by ehs(m): 12:24am On Sep 29, 2010
While life happens and sometimes we wonder why things happens, the first thing you need to identify, is you, be sincere about situation, learn from it and equip self with skills that will assist better manage situation should they arise in future and move on. Referring an individual as "this so called person" is a very interesting statement. I stand to be corrected but part of the reason we reflect/dream about things over and over is because of our mind (feelings - emotions - actions).
Romance › Re: Why Do Girls Worldover Dislike Short Men ? by ehs(m): 11:11pm On Sep 28, 2010
The most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder which empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves, short, average, tall, black, white, rich or poor. We all have strengths and weaknesses, regarding the ego of someone that's consider short, people can makeup weakness with huge ego, isolation, being overly nice/kind, and so on. Bottom-line is that knowing you're loved supersedes everything. Regardless of your status, be proud and move on.

Nairaland General › Re: Why Average Policeman Is Aggressive by ehs(m): 10:56pm On Sep 27, 2010
Aggression is part of survival skills and with all due respect to various opinions and believes, the so called average Nigerian police officer is barely living and at disadvantage "No sold state/Fed support which includes trainings, education, good wage, public relation and so on" Most of us are familiar with the saying: a hungry man is an angry man. In my humble opinion, I strongly suggest we speak out for Nigeria public safety/peace officers and support their good cause, instead of making fun of them without contributing to a way forward.
