Interesting analysis, but lending out cash is an economically viable option for investment as the par value will attract interest.
So with the incentive(interest) economics and account will be more than willing to part with their money pending maturity of the principal.

As for law and its legal tenets; I think it(law) stands to lose big on that since its debtor has passed away. Presumably, there was no collateral to offset the potential loss should mathematics default.

It has come to our notice that the official date of resumption for both freshers and stalites has been adjusted from 2nd and 5th October initially broad casted to a new date owing to pressing need to so do. The NEW resumption date has been fixed at 9th and 15th October, 2015 for both freshers and stalites respectively. This, we hope, will for the umpteenth time lay the worries on resumption by my lovely members to rest. In the same vein, we urge all aspirants of the University to keep close to their portals as the admission list will be out any moment from now. Our better by far congratulations to them in advance. The Union wish to reiterate her commitment and dedication to serving you better. We shall continue to do all efforts humanly possible to ensure you get the best from the Asiwaju-led administration.

According to the VC in a recent publication on the Unilorin website, Jamb reduced the quota given to University of Ilorin cutting it almost into two. Instead of the expected 15000, it has now been reduced to about 8000.

Really? Then, serious lobby must be underway to convince Jamb to change its stance on the quota.
