Former Chelsea midfielder Eddie Newton has been appointed Trabzonspor's permanent manager after winning the Turkish Cup as their caretaker boss.

Newton, 48, won both of his matches in temporary charge and delivered the club's first trophy in a decade when they beat Alanyaspor 2-0 on Wednesday.

He spent eight years as a Chelsea coach and was twice assistant manager.

Newton said after beating Alanyaspor he felt there was more "opportunity" to be a black manager abroad.

There are currently six black or non-white head coaches in the top 92 clubs in England's professional leagues.

After a distinguished playing career with Chelsea, Newton served his apprenticeship in management as an assistant under Roberto di Matteo when the Blues won the Champions League and FA Cup in 2012.

"I've been trying to become a number one for a while and just didn't see it happening [in England]," Newton told Sky Sports after winning the Turkish Cup.

"The fact is that I've moved to another country and it's taken six months to become caretaker manager.

"I've been working in football all my life so that's why I felt there was more opportunity over here, so I had to take the chance.

"Look up and down the league. Not my opinion or anyone's opinion, just look at the facts. There are very few black managers in the league, therefore the numbers don't lie."

This is the real definition of Together Forever

2014 - 2015: Promoted to the Premier League
Norwich, Bournemouth, Watford

2019 - 2020: Relegated from the Premier League
Norwich, Bournemouth, Watford

Bournemouth and Watford had to wait for their brother Norwich for Five years so that the can make a grand entrance back to the Championship

Wonders shall never cease
My broda if u were a Chelsea fan dn u would be happy.
U lost your best player
U started the season with a coach who have had just one season as a coach (and no EPL experience as a coach)
The club was handed a two window transfer ban
Injury woes to some important squad members
You spent 0£ in the transfer market
You had to integrate from the academy or with literally no premier league experience
You had to bring in some old cargo also
You had a goalkeeper with the worst save percentage in the league this season
Your defense is nothing to write home about
You got trashed in your first game 4:0

Against all odds u still made it to the top 4
Haba My broda if u wer da 1 u for even go do thanksgiving for church

Jordan Kadiri has an oral agreement with ambitious Belgian second-division side, Lommel.

20yr old Jordan will play his last match for Ostersunds tonight against Helsingborg, and then fly to Belgium to take his medical and coronavirus test.

Lommel, who were completely bought by City Football Group (Owners of Man City and Girona), two months ago will be seeking a quick promotion to the Jupiler League but have not won in 6 games.

The deal is rumoured to be around 10M
This is a good move for me, the club have just been bought by city football group, and there will be a good project by the club

Good to see him progressing
Chelsea have a buy back clause on him, bt they told Sassuolo to pay them 15m and keep the player, I think it didn't go down well so instead of activating the clause they decided to negotiate with Sassuolo and put a sell on clause on the guy

Kenya: BetKing Splash a Further Sh100 Million (360,710,415.48 million naira) Into Kenyan Football

Nairobi — Just days after announcing that Nigerian betting firm BetKing will sponsor the Kenyan Premier League to a tune of Sh1.2bn (4,329,270,497.79 billion naira) for five years, the Football Kenya Federation has announced the firm will also sponsor the third tier Division One League for Sh100mn(360,710,415.48 million naira) .

The deal will run for the next five years and clubs in the division will earn grants worth Sh500,000 (1,803,513.38 million naira) annually.

"This is the first time in the history of Kenyan football that the Division One league has attracted a sponsor and so we are happy to announce yet another milestone as we endeavor to raise Kenyan football's commercial value," said FKF boss Nick Mwendwa.

"We believe this deal will not only help ease our clubs' financial obligations but also play a pivotal role in raising the level of competition in the league," added Mwendwa.

The deal now means all top three divisions of Kenyan football are sponsored by betting companies with local firm Betika sponsoring the second tier National Super League.

Another local firm, Odibets also sponsors the grassroot leagues.

The Nigerian company is looking to make inroads into the lucrative Kenyan market and is scheduled to compete setting up its base by September when the two sponsorship deals will be officially unveiled.

It takes a bit of time.

You know l looked at the entire squad, now look at the number of loan players ( i don't know if they even pay thier wages) then look at the number of free transfers, then look at the very few transfers they paid for. You will be shocked.

I did not know you could run a club on a shoe string budget like that. Irrespective of the style of play, money brings in better players this is the reality.

Now compare Huesca budget for players to Sunderland in league one.
