It's very possible. If it has been abandoned for as long as 6months |
Phones › Re: This Is The Mid-ranger With A Camera That Is Better Than Many Premium Phones by Ejadike(m): 11:36am On Jan 19, 2020 |
dsnet: By default, the top cameraphones come from the flagship class of smartphones. But for the first time, we have a mid-range smartphone with a top camera - a camera that outperforms many premium cameraphones.
What makes it interesting is that this groundbreaking achievement has come form an unexpected brand. The top cameraphones brands are Huawei, Google, Apple, and Samsung. Nokia used to be on this table too, but has slipped down in the last few years.

Jaymaxxy: Bro, I have my facts and figures. I have access to the figures of more than 5 strong phone stores in the southwest. I get these figures on weekly basis. All Transsion devices above #60000 are struggling. Zero 6 and Phantom 9 flopped because of the presence of Huawei Y9 prime, Nokia 6.1 plus, Nokia 6.2, Nokia 7.2 (slightly) and Samsung A30 and A50. Canon 12 Pro (6GB version) is doing relatively better but not to its best when you consider its specifications and the hype around the device. Most Transsion devices have life span of 6 months in the trade, why have they not announced a new Zero series? They also understand this fact. You may choose not to believe, but that's the fact. I agree that the Phantom 9 might not be selling as much as it would have but brands makes mistakes with there penetrative strategy sometimes, it's very common but the koko is an average Nigerian would opt for a TECNO product over any other cos the brand has built there name to that here in Nigeria. |

theoneJabulani: so you believe they won't make profit? When they start making losses as soon as cheaper and better devices come into the market, you' ll see. Why are umidigi and Xiaomi giving us cheaper and better devices? because they are trying to get your attention with reduced price. |
Phones › Re: Watch Out Transsion (Tecno): Samsung and Nokia are Coming for Your Lowend Market by Ejadike(m): 7:02pm On Jan 13, 2020 |
Chuksteric: Because they spend less money on promotion of the products and less ambassadors and marketers. Tecno and infinix pays almost all tip Nigerian YouTubers . Pays marketers and spends millions of dollars signing ambassadors .. The already have the name cut costs and improve on the phone quality... They should spend more money on Software development and other things not valid enough. Everything has budget, the more the promotions the more the sales and profit making. Those phones wanna penetrate the market and get you guy's attention with reduced price, hence they sell at a ridiculous price. Same thing Opay did, same thing TECNO did when they were still emerging. |

Chuksteric: Lol... My sister almost made a mistake of buying the phantom 9... I stopped her and got the Mi A3 128gb plus free case and high quality earphones at 65k ... That's absolute value for money.. Tecno doesn't give value for money as much as they used to back in the day.. You completely rely on marketing and promotion!!! It's just a matter of time!!! Phones are getting better and cheaper by the day and people are getting wiser Bro. Why do you think these devices sell at lower price? |
Phones › Re: Watch Out Transsion (Tecno): Samsung and Nokia are Coming for Your Lowend Market by Ejadike(m): 6:51pm On Jan 13, 2020 |
theoneJabulani: True but that cannot last forever, people are getting better informed. It's either Transsion reduce their price or increase the quality of their devices reduce the price without making profit just to please you all abi? Have you asked yourself why Xiaomi and that Umidigi sell at lower prices? |

theoneJabulani: speak for yourself, do you know how many ladies have now started opting for Xiaomi, oppo, hauwei etc. And more people will join. Transsion may be the king of entry level smartphone market in Nigeria but the only thing constant in this world is change. And I did not edit any image, you should know jumia uses slide show to advertise it's products. Forget all the fake specs in infinix and Tecno phones, how can a 3 month old phone with 3 gig ram be lagging significantly? Do you honestly think both phones can outperform Redmi 8a we are not talking about which is one performs better, that has never been the bone of contention. I'm saying people know TECNO more than any other brand competing with them in Nigeria. Peace ✌️ |

ogabentley: The Spark series is a good product but judging from experience their battery gets weak as time goes on. Add 3k and get Umidigi A5 pro 4000mah + 4gb ram Add 5k and get Redmi 8a 5000mah + 2gb ram snapdragon 425 The ball is in your court hmmmm.. Truthfully, every smartphone battery gets weak overtime so it's not only peculiar to TECNO phones |

Continuation from where LITIFYED stopped . litifyed Smartphone Smartphones have undeniably become a significant part of our daily lives. They are able to perform the tasks a computer can do. Apart from making calls and sending SMS, you can also check mails, watch movies and shows, browse and use social media. With a large array of smartphones available, it can be very stressful choosing the best one to suit your needs. This is why I have outlined a few factors to consider when buying a smartphone. Factors to consider before choosing a Smartphone Price and Budget This is an unavoidable factor. Ensure that you stick to your budget when shopping for a smartphone. Good news is that there many great phones to suit any budget. I personally recommend Huawei phones. 2. Storage size Different phones come with various memory storage. You have to pick one that can accommodate what you wish to store in the smartphone. 3. Operating System The most prominent operating systems include Android, IOS and Windows. You should opt for whichever you think has a good UI and isn’t complicated for you. You wouldn’t want to get confused while using your smartphone. 4. Battery Life Choice of battery is somewhat dependent on what you intend to use the smartphone for. For instance, a business man would need a phone with long battery life. You can also opt for phones with replaceable batteries so that you can move around with spares. 5. Processor and RAM There are many processors used in smartphones. Terms like quad-core, dual-core and octa-core are used to describe processors. The more processors in a device, the better it performs. However iPhone devices use dual-core processors but are still better than some quad-core processor phones. As for RAM, always go for more as that means better all-round performance. Oya, lemme pity him. You guys should check out 6 and 7 in his blog |

theoneJabulani: your average old man or woman knows nothing about phone performance. Tecno made smartphone affordable for the low income earners at the beginning but they have stuck with the same strategy since 2014 and that will come back to bite them in the ass. Can you compare the quality of this 3 phones, which will give you better value for your money Bros, you're sounding more emotional than logical, see even someone who knows phone performance will still go for TECNO. You know Ladies purchase more of infinix and Tecno than other brands, and you know we have more of females than males in Nigeria ba? I'm telling you they are the Kings of smartphones in Nigeria. Let's look at the image you posted there, look at all of them very well and look at the one with more specs as compared with there prices and answer your question yourself. Edited: Why did you change the image of the Spark 4 that has face unlock? That Spark 4 still has more and better spec to the Xiaomi. You're just witch hunting |

ddjay: Correction here, not average Nigerians but below average nigerians.. those ones that have no good sense of quality, if Samsung and xiaomi is expensive, there is nokia, if nokia is expensive, there is umidigi. Umidigi is even reviewed in uk, germany and some European countries, for umidigi to sell their phones in these countries tells you the quality. Transsion will never set foot in Europe because they make their phones for below average and poor quality minded people in countries without customer protection and quality enforcement. No offence bro but try and be logical here bro, don't sound emotional. How many people knows Umidigi or whatever? Does the old woman in the village know Umigidi? Even the rich old man sef, does he know Umidigi? Does that make both of them a below average human? You'll surprised that both of them know TECNO. For the Old woman and old man know TECNO in a place where there's little or no Internet means TECNO has built there brand up to Top-of-mind status. Don't argue Marketing with me bro, I went to school for this bro. |
Phones › Re: Watch Out Transsion (Tecno): Samsung and Nokia are Coming for Your Lowend Market by Ejadike(m): 5:49pm On Jan 13, 2020 |
Jaymaxxy: Tecno did not take the market overnight. They won't lose it overnight either. It's a gradual process. Will they lose it anytime soon? I don't think so. But one thing is certain, they do not have the same market share in the low end and midrange as they used to. As it stands, they've lost the midrange battle. The new A-series from Samsung coupled with the introduction of Nokia 5.1plus and 6.1 plus spoilt things for them. Infinix Zero 6 is a fantastic device but flopped big time in the trade. The Phantom 9 is struggling too.
I think truly, other brands would have to do extra work to win the budget and low-end battle. But if they could do it in the Mid range, they can do it in the low end too. what fact do you have to back up your claim? You said they've been beaten in the mid-range market, how? Where's your proof? Do a lil research around your environment, list the names of TECNO and Samsung mid-range devices, ask people which of the devices have they heard of before. I can bet that People will tell you they've heard more of the TECNO devices than Samsung's. I'm not saying no Competitor can take TECNO's name off the minds of an average Nigerian o looking at buying a smartphone, but they'll have to do enough work and it will even be obvious that they are trying to take away there spot sef then TECNO would have spotted it and go 10 steps ahead lol. The only way TECNO can loose that spot is if they are lacklustre and complacent with there position. |

Chuksteric: It's not just on nairaland.. whilst Tecno may have a little cult following, people keep looking for value for money. I got the Nokia X6 at 46k early last year and there's a huge difference.. from Android 8 I'm now on 10.. Camon 11 was sold at 76k then where's it now ? Camon 12 price had to go down because of the competition but there's really no difference in comparison with the 11. Ejadike I once told you to give feedback to your company even though you'll still deny the fact that you market their products lol. Users deserve value for money ! Don't think that you still have the crowd ... People are getting wiser each passing day.. Shalom you are diverting from my point. Any brand that wants to take that lower market from TECNO must do enough work. |

AmosAkins: well, the truth is that xiaomi ia set out on producing phones... Not to earn much profit but to make sure the users get value for money..Thats why you see such high specs on a Xiaomi phone...
But turns out theyare still making profit since many peeps are purchasing... first of, the sole aim of a business is to earn profit and maximise every chance to make it. In the case of Xiaomi, from my understanding they are still an emerging market in Nigeria so they want to get to a certain level where they'll harness every chance of making profit, time go reach when they'll start selling there phones higher than what you're getting it, Just watch. |
