To those that have submitted their passport and travel insurance and are yet to receive it back, I advise you to visit the office of the courier company you used, the Embassy has sent my package to them( FedEx) and they kept my Visa and original documents in their office, so i had to go there today with my receipt and collect my package.

If you are above 30, use mawista student classic. It is around €37 per month but will jump to €63 per month at the end of the first year. But note, you pay the bills yourself at the hospital while you will be reimbursed afterward by the insurance company after sending the bills from the hospital to them. This is peculiar to all private insurance company. If you are above 30, then public will not take you unless under some few circumstances and the fee per month is very very high. If you are below 30, take public insurance, otherwise, take private. As for Fintiba insurance, forget it. Shalom
Thanks Brother

I think the can get but the price is around 104£ compared to people below 30 which is 90£
. 104€ /month ? That's on the high side maybe I will go for the private

Public health insurance is the best if u can afford it and if u are the type that visit hospital often. I always recommend public health insurance for ladies.

U can try Mawista or care concept (not basic package). They are all private but not to compare public health insurance.
Thanks Brother, well I heard people above 30 can't get public health insurance which is the reason I needed to inquire about the private insurance. Is there a possibility that someone above 30 can get d public health insurance?

Good morning to my people in Deutschland already, pls I have a question. What is the cost of a private health insurance? I mean the best deal and also has anyone used fintiba insurance? Because they just introduced it ,so I really want to look at the available options and take the best decision. Danke

So i got to the consulate today, and when one man called us to arrange our document... I said to myself that must be the almighty Paulinus. Lol. But the way the man was gently explaining how to arrange documents including to one guy wey no bring signed declaration and motivation letter, I said to the lady sitting nearby, certainly, this ISN'T Paulinus! cheesy
So the VO that interviewed me was calm. He was asking the normal questions before biometrics and I was relaxed answering, waiting for him to tell me to pick up the phone so we can start. Next thing I heard was "do you have any question? ", I said no, and he said you can go now. Well.... That wasn't that bad grin
. The Guy Ur talking about was he putting on blue Long sleeve?
because I was so confident answering his questions and simple they are simple questions we all know and then at the end he asked if I have any question..... Very cool and nice guy

Anyone coming to Lagos for interview pls stay away from EXTENDED STAY GRAND HOTEL (behind Canadian Embassy)..those people are thieves, they will make u book a room online (10,500)...when u get there, they will tell u they don't have any room for that price that their room starts from 14k. ....and the rooms are absolutely not worth the money...and a plate of rice and chicken is 3k. ...as in....

Better places to stay are New world Inn(7k), even Sapper Lodge(12k)....(don't be scared about walking alone around 5:30am, that place is really okay and safe, u will even see a lot of people out at that same time, even the queue @us embassy is ridiculous) grin

Secondly if u are coming from abuja like me, pls ignore those hungry airport workers, they told me getting to VI cost 7k and only for me to later ask a friend and they told me it's btw 3-5k...Lagos people have problem with integrity, I swear!...don't trust anyone in Lagos...and yes their girls wear really really short things(I was shy on their behalf)and can be very very rude

Thanks for sharing your experience here, please how many copies of motivation letter did you go with to the interview?

SooCute:
So about yesterday interview...
I met the Paulinus guy. I was the first to arrive the venue so I didn't know where to cue even. So I courageously inquired " Sir please where......" the guy collect me sharp sharp "Oga you can't be seeing me working and you are asking me question..go down there and que " For my mind I be like "What could have cost this man to simply say go down there and cue?"
I just feel the man needs help psychologically.

So after much arrangements of documents I was ushered in to sit down at the waiting section.

The the VO signaled me through the glass and I walked to the cubicle.
Did my biometrics.

VO: Do you have your 27,000 naira visa fee?
Me: Yes. I handed it *well arranged* in a white envelope. She took it, counted it and returned my envelop.
VO: What degree are you going for?
Me: B Eng. In Business and Engineering.
VO: Bachelors? (Looking surprised)

VO: Why the course?
Me: if you know you know
VO: Are you married?
Me: you wan marry me?
VO: who is sponsoring you?

Me: But the date dey there nau.
VO: So you are a member of Bleep professional body?
Me: Madam ask me about Germany already.
VO: You seem to be engaged all through your career. Tell me about your work experiences and timeline.
Me: Ooooooooooom!!!!!!
VO: where is the capital of Germany
Me: (we die here) Berlin. Which is the second time it has been. After the fall of Berlin wall in 1989 and the Unification of Germany; the modern Berlin will be 28years old by 3rd of October this year which would mark the German Unity day.
VO: How many points have you made for one single question? I can see you know alot about Germany.
Me: smile. (for my mind I am expecting the usual next fire "name the states in Germany and their capital. Name the boarders of Germany and their capital. I even read and crammed their various presidents join.) She typed a while.

VO: Smiled at me
Me: I smiled back.
VO: laughed a little
Me: I laughed.
VO: Ehee continue
Me: Germany has 16 federal states and 9 boardring countries by land and 2 sea boarders on the North sea and Baltic sea respectively. (For my mind I was expecting name them)
Frankfurt is the financial capital of Germany and it's about 116km from my school. Germany is the founding member of the European Union in 1958 and the 3rd largest export and importation country in the world. About 90% of German companies belong to the German "mittlestand" Which are small and medium sized enterprises mostly family owned. In 2016, Germany recorded the highest trade surplus of $310b making it the world largest capital exporter of the year. Her major export partners being the European and the US. Namibia was a German Colony from late 18th century.
Forest dominate the southern region where I am heading with the popular Black forest in Badden Wuttenberg. The weather is largely temperate. The famous Neuschweinstein castle located in my state is attract 2million people annually on tourism. Lest I forget...Pope Bernadicth XVI is also from Bayern where I am heading which explians why it is dominated by 60percent Catholics.
VO: Looks up to me and smiled again. (At that point I sensed she couldn't type in all the points)
Me: I smiled back.
VO: how are you preparing for your travel?
Me: Securing my Ticket, accommodation and have began intensive study of the language.
VO: So do you speak German.
Me: I speak enough to walk myself through daily life. (for my mind I don't package big big German wey I wan fire back to back)
VO: Can you count from 1 to 10?
Me: Yes (chai! Na German be that one?)
VO: Can you count to 20
Me: Yes (she didn't even say "oya count"wink

VO: Do you have relatives in Germany
Me: Yes. A lot of them Ma.
VO: check this documents and confirm your details and sign it.
Me: Done.

VO: is your email yourfada@nomail.go?
Me: Yes. I repeated yourfada@nomail.go.
VO: my office will contact you. Have a nice day.
Me: Have a nice day Ma.

Me: please Ma, can I ask you a question?
VO: Okay?
Me: I booked for visa appointment by May but was booked today 2 August. I am a bit worried because my enrollment deadline is Sept. 17. When should I expect a response from your office?

VO: It is not up to us to decide. As soon as we clear you here we forward your documents to the foreign office over there. It takes us about a week to do that. The international office will decide how fast you get a response.
Me: Have a nice day Ma.

I didn't check time but the interview didn't feel like one. I read like someone looking for lecturer work because i had more than enough time to prepare coupled with different interview reports I got here. I was scared not leave any stone unturned. Read GMATS Cox I am going for engineering plus I already did Mechanical Engr here so I gat no excuse to fail their maths test if e show.
Read virtually everything readable with facts and figures! Rivers. Political parties, their colours and number of registered voters. Busiest airports in Germany. My states facts and figures. I even studied about 12 major companies in my state and what they are into. Studied the ones trekkable from my school (about 6 of them) cos I was waiting for "Tell me facts about the city you are going...blablabla.

Tips: Package facts closely related to the course you are going for. (I talked about business and entrepreneurship more because my course is Business and Engineering) E dey make them believe you.
Also talk about facts about the state you are going....when they ask you what you know about Germany.

In all....I was so relaxed. I never felt I was being interviewed. I guess that helped me recall a whole lot I read. #Grace.

I arrived at Island 01/08 against my appointment on 02/08 and settled down in a hotel " *New World Inn*". Where I never slept throughout the night for the fear of village people fanning me till I wake up by weekend! It was nice with interior wallpaper and steady light. Thanks to @Alphapen Aka Musqit Azeez and Oga Shegun aka Baba for the boys! For taking the pain to get me settled after my long-picky hotel search. Wahlahi good people dey nairaland. I mean people wey pass you for level yet them humble to the core!
If necessary...I will add few more facts about Germany so here can be a hub.

Shocker: Them know about this dollarsewuosewaland (I know why I typed it so) please be careful what you post. The VO said " I have been interviewing people for years and I know you people go-to NNNNLLLL and cram and cram. So it made me drift from the usuall answers and went to different trajectory. But if you no read how you wan take do?
Its better to do your part well enough then hope for Grace than the opposite.

God bless Us all and grant our good wishes. Amen!
Bro ,how many copies of motivation letter did you go with?

Hello guys,

I trust everyone is having a great day.

In the light of the recent rejection of Student Visa application from the Embassy...It's obvious our only hope of getting them to re-think their stand is to involve our Legislators and Govt Officials.

I've read that some other Asian countries are facing similar challenge but he truth is Nigerians are the only ones in Africa. The Embassy in Accra attends to 3 countries and it's still open till probably September if not longer...so that argument does not hold water.

In nut, myself and couple of guys have thought it right to get the attention of well-meaning Nigerians to wedge in on our case and call the Embassy to act right.

An article has been put up and we need to flood our Social media handles with this information! LIKE FLOOD IT TILL THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESPOND TO IT.

I believe everyone on this platform should ACTIVELY participate in this; not only those who are yet to get interview dates.
VICTORY FOR ONE IS VICTORY FOR ALL.

This is a case of some people choosing to crush our dreams and aspirations, we shouldn't fold our arms!

If you really believe in result, then LET'S GO ALL OUT TO TWEET and RETWEET, write / share the blog url, Write on facebook, Call that Uncle and Friend in positions of authority.

Copy the President and Osibanjo, all Senators- Murray Bruce, Abike Dabiri, Dino Melaye...ALL OF THEM! , The House of Rep, Media Houses, Linda, Sahara Reporters and every other person you can.

THIS IS ABOUT OUR FUTURE...waiting one year after all the emotional, financial stress and hard work done to get the admission shouldn't go down the drain...

WE ARE THE YOUTH, WE MUSTN'T JUST ALLOW PEOPLE PEDDLE WITH OUR LIVES.

I hope this plea will resonate with everyone here...Even those that have gotten interview dates and those who are yet to even apply.

We need you to make this a reality. The likes, share, re-tweet, copy would go a lonnnnng way!

#Winter17 is possible!

Impossible is nothing!

LET THE AVALANCHE' BEGIN!!!

those who want to engage in such act should think twice, by so doing ur telling these Germans ur level of desperation, are u not aware that this people are so strict with their laws? Do u want to close d door for those who want to study in future? D standard of education in the UK, US ,Canada and Germany are the same yet they made it tuition free, something dat our colonial masters will never dream of doing for us. U should see it as a great privilege day i will advise u not to abuse. U talk abt letting our government officials know so they will act on it, but I tell u those politicians will do NOTHING. So I will advise all of u who want to embark on this futile journey to HALT IT .Am equally in d same situation, and my own course is only available for winter semester so I hv to defer mine to next winter, provided my admission is secured I think we should all do d same so dat I will enable us apply earlier next year. Patience is a virtue and delay is not denial. Germany is not ur country dat u should demand explanation from them, a word is enough for the wise
