PoliticsCourt Stops INEC From Going On With Collation Exercise In Bauchi by ejifranks(op): 12:16pm On Mar 19, 2019
The Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from proceeding with the collation, conclusion and announcement of the result of the governorship election in Bauchi State held on March 9, 2019.

Justice Inyang Ekwo issued the order on Tuesday on the strength of an ex parte application filed by the All Progressive Congress and the incumbent governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar.

He held that the order would last till the determination of the suit brought before the court by the two plaintiffs.

In the ex parte motion, the APC and Governor Abubakar prayed the court for an order of Interim Injunction restraining INEC from resuming, concluding or announcing the result of the Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State in respect of the election to the office of Governor of Bauchi State.

Justice Ekwo had on Monday while ruling on the ex parte ordered INEC to appear before him on Tuesday to show cause why the order sought by the two plaintiffs ought not to be granted.

Instead of complying with the order of the court, INEC represented, by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Tanimu Inuwa, approached the court with a motion challenging its jurisdiction.

Counsel to the plaintiffs, Ahmed Raji, however, objected to the application of INEC, informing the court that the order issued on Monday asking the electoral body to show cause why the requests of the plaintiffs should not be granted had not been obeyed.

Responding, Inuwa admitted that the order had not been complied with and requested to address the court orally on the issue.

The judge, however, refused to grant the request.

Justice Ekwo held that since the ex parte application was in writing and duly served on INEC, it behoved on the defendant to appear before the court with a written or formal response.

In his bench ruling, the judge granted the interim injunction restraining INEC from resuming, concluding and announcing the governorship election result in Bauchi State, pending the determination of all issues raised by the plaintiffs in their originating summons.

Justice Ekwo also granted an accelerated hearing in the matter and ordered parties to appear before him on Wednesday to present their positions in the substantive matter.

The plaintiffs in the suit are challenging the decision of INEC to resume collation of results of the election that was earlier declared inconclusive.

They prayed the court to compel the electoral umpire to go ahead with a rescheduled election slated for March 23, instead of reversing itself on the earlier announcement.

What can be the motive?
Are these Christian or Moslem dominated areas? Are these areas the stronghold of one political party or an equally divided political hotbed?
This will give a clue if it was for purely religious or political reasons.
These are the kinds of questions the security agencies should be asking or else they continue going in circles or picking up some people and torturing them, and the vicious cycle goes on.
Kajuru is actually in Kaduna central but borders Southern kaduna LGAs which has a higher Christian population and off couurse we know who has political momentum in these areas.

The Kaduna state government, Friday evening, disclosed that 66 persons were killed by unknown gunmen in Kajuru local government of Kaduna state, less than twenty four hours to the conduct of the presidential and parliamentary elections. A statement issued by the spokesman to the governor of Kaduna state, Samuel Aruwan, said already, security agencies are on the trail of the assailants. The statement however did not provide details about where or how the incidence happened but said among the victims were 22 children and 12 women. Details shortly.

No less than 66 persons were reportedly killed in eight settlements near Maro Gida village of Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state on Thursday night.

Among the victims are 22 children and 12 women while four wounded persons were said to have been rescued by security agents who were alerted of the attacks.

Those wounded are said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The settlements affected include Ruga Bahago, Ruga Daku, Ruga Ori, Ruga Haruna, Ruga Yukka Abubakar, Ruga Duni Kadiri, Ruga Shewuka and Ruga Shuaibu Yau.

The Kaduna State Government while confirming the incident in a statement by Samuel Aruwan, senior special assistant to the governor, condemned the killings and warned all communities against instigating attacks or reprisals.

The government said security agencies have been deployed to the area, while arrests have been made.

“Security agencies today reported the recovery of 66 bodies that were killed in attacks by criminal elements on various dispersed hamlets in the Maro Gida and Iri axis of Kajuru LGA.

“Government condemns the attacks and commiserates with the families of the victims. Security agencies have been deployed to the area and arrests have been made,” the government stated.

The state government urged community, traditional and religious leaders in the area to encourage residents to avoid any reprisal attacks and to leave the matter in the hands of the security and law enforcement agencies.

“The killings are being investigated and residents are assured that indicted persons will be prosecuted.

“Residents of Kaduna State are enjoined to uphold peace and harmony, shun violence and allow the elections to be held in an atmosphere of calm,” the government said.

It was an all out war at the scanty stadium. The govenor had to beg for calm. Security had to shield PMB and other dignitaries present. APC a house divided against itself. Its shameful i must say.

Yemoja and Sango- goddess 'mammywater' and god of thunder in Yoruba folklore. Osun is also goddess of love and fertility ,but she lives in the water.
Many of these African Americans love the folklores and African versions of Zeus and other Greek mythology.
The stories about the African versions are actually very interesting, and I wish more Africans could write about them. They make a good read.
Not only AAs , whites and latinos are deep in African folk gods ans godesses worship. You need to be around the southwest during the yearly Osun and other Orishas ceremonial rituals and see the multitudes of whites trooping in to observe and worship.

Children of Osun could be anybody not neccesarily Yoruba. Osun is worshipped all over America continents and syncretised in Europe and Hindu goddess worship too. you need to broaden this dirty tribalistic mindset of yours.

My top three best Avicii song

THE NIGHTS
Hey, once upon a younger year
When all our shadows disappeared
The animals inside came out to play
Hey, when face to face with all our fears
Learned our lessons through the tears
Made memories we knew would never fade

One day my father—he told me,
"Son, don't let it slip away"
He took me in his arms, I heard him say,

"When you get older
Your wild life will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid."

He said, "One day you'll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember."
My father told me when I was just a child
These are the nights that never die
My father told me

When thunder clouds start pouring down
Light a fire they can't put out
Carve your name into those shinning stars
He said, "Go venture far beyond the shores.
Don't forsake this life of yours.
I'll guide you home no matter where you are."

One day my father—he told me,
"Son, don't let it slip away."
When I was just a kid I heard him say,

"When you get older
Your wild life will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid."

He said, "One day you'll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember."
My father told me when I was just a child
These are the nights that never die
My father told me

These are the nights that never die
My father told me....

WAKE ME UP
Feel my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I CANT TELL WHERE THE JOURNEY WILL END
But I know where to start
They tell me I'm too young to understand
They say I'm caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes
Well that's fine by me

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
Didn't know I was lost

I tried carrying d weight of d world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans
Wish that I COULD STAY FOR EVER THIS YOUNG
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life's a game made for everyone
And love is a prize

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
Didn't know I was lost

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
I didn't know I was lost

I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know

HEY BROTHIER
Hey brother! There's an endless road to rediscover
Hey sister! Know the water's sweet but blood is thicker
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey brother! Do you still believe in one another?
Hey sister! Do you still believe in love? I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?
Oh brother, I will hear you call!
What if I lose it all?
Oh sister, I will help you out!
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey brother! There's an endless road to rediscover
Hey sister! Do you still believe in love? I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?
Oh brother, I will hear you call!
