Please I need your assistance. My mum used to have an old passport and we wanted to get another one for her, so we contacted someone and we paid, she was captured and awaiting collection. I received a call yesterday from the agent that they queried it because she was once issued passport hence she should not have applied for fresh passport but re-issue. The agent said , we need to start all over again that they have cancelled the application that i need to pay another money.

The name on her old passport is different from the name on the NIN which she used to do her new application.

Can someone please advice me on what to do .

Your husband may attach copy of the data page of his Nigerian passport as evidence of Nigerian citizenship in lieu of yours.

So I’m married and didn’t do change of name and don’t intend to do it for now… I want to process my children’s passport.. I just noticed on my children birth certificate that I used my husband’s name as my surname.. my passport is carrying my name before marriage .. I don’t know if these would affect their passport application.. and if my marriage certificate will suffice as evidence .. i really don’t want to do change of name .. the process is too hectic

A letter of identification from the Local Government/State of origin is not required for Nigerian passport applicants below 18 years old. But a letter of consent from the child's parents is highly required.

Any minor and/or adult entitled to a passport issued by the Federal Republic of Nigeria, must provide a National Identification Number (NIN) as a part of the issuance process.
Enrol your child if he or she doesn't have a National Identification Number before you apply for a passport for him or her.

Any idea of an alternative way to get the NPC birth certificate?

NPC has offices in all the 774 LGAs in Nigeria. Please kindly go to the nearest LGA secretariat and ask for the NPC office there.

For NIN Validation:
1. Download the NIMC Mobile App
2. Insert your NIN on the App
3. The mobile number tied to you would be shown on the screen
4. Click on the next button and OTP would be sent to your mobile number
5. Once you receive the OTP, NIN VALIDATION is complete
6. You can now go ahead to complete the set up.

For clarity on how to go about it, i suppose we would click on renewal of passport, and pick correction of data, pay the administrative fee, upload requisite documents and await approval; upon approval, we will then proceed to renew the passport proper, right? We want to do it DIY that's why I'm seeking this clarification. The agent we contacted charged 185k which is think is on thr high side.

Click on apply for correction of data. Enter your NIN for verification. Proceed with your application as soon as your NIN verification is successful.

I received an email that my renewal application has been approved. I have not captured before now and got a booking date for November 2024. I had requested for an adjustment date but haven't heard from NIS.

When I checked my tracking status I saw that it says "READY FOR ENROLLMENT".
Does that mean I am ready for capturing? I need to know so I can start booking my flight to Ottawa.

Two days to Sallah celebration,I decided to buy my Sallah ram today and visited the ram market.Despite the high cost of ram this year, I was able to purchased these two Rams at 150k.

It took me about 3 hours of walking around before I was able to get these two rams.The same size of the rams are being sold for between 120-150k in the same market.

Tips to buying cheaper Sallah ram

1-Don't rush in buying sallah's ram.Wait for a day or two days to Sallah before buying.Some northerners selling these rams would want to go back to their base for Sallah celebration with their family,hence reduction in price.

2- Avoid the interference of the middlemen in price negotiations.If possible,locate the owner and negotiate directly.Middlemen will inflate the price beyond ordinary.

3- Avoid clustered selling point, you may never get a good bargain.

It seems ram are a bit cheaper in my place compared to some other locations.
