Business / Ecobank To Disburse N10B MDG Funds Through Mobile Money To 56,000 Rural People by eksammy(m): 8:47pm On Aug 29, 2013 |
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on the Millennium Development Goals has appointed Ecobank Nigeria as a partner in its Conditional Cash Transfer scheme aimed at assisting indigent and less-privileged families with monthly social subventions. The scheme, according to a statement from Ecobank, is part of the Federal Government’s MDG-assisted projects ahead of the 2015 deadline. The programme, which is planned to run in 12 months cycles, will have funds disbursed to over 56,000 households in 600 communities in the first phase. It is part of the countdown strategy of the MDG office, according to the bank. The money, the bank stressed, would be disbursed through mobile money. The statement noted that the move showed Nigeria’s determination to achieve the MDGs objectives. The Federal Government is providing the sum of N187.5m for each of the 24 benefiting states, while the states are providing a matching grant of an equal amount. According to the statement, this means that each state will receive a total sum of N375m. The states selected for this phase are Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Sokoto, Yobe and the Federal Capital Territory. According to the Managing Director, Ecobank, Mr. Jibril Aku, the bank already has N6.2bn in its coffers ready for disbursement through the Ecobank Mobile Money platform. Aku said N5,000 would be disbursed monthly for 12 months into the beneficiaries’ wallets, while a bulk sum of N100,000 would be paid to each beneficiary at the end of the programme as an exit strategy. He explained that the Ecobank Mobile Money wallets would be created for the beneficiaries and disbursement of funds into the wallets would be based on the OSSAP-MDGs’ instructions and notification sent to the beneficiaries. Aku said the bank had deployed agent points in 600 communities/local government areas across the 24 states and that product education as well as customer support services to the beneficiaries were already ongoing. The statement said, “The countdown strategy as a catalytic policy of attaining the MDGs in the country, is closely linked with the government’s transformation agenda; the motive force for socio-economic transformation with the focus of making Nigeria one of the leading economies in the world by year 2020.” “The transformation agenda recognises that investments in infrastructure, energy, roads, human development, security, law and order, development of the Niger Delta, will boost economic growth and productivity and will also be critical to meeting the target of the MDGs. “It is important to note that the MDGs formed key development priorities in the first National Implementation Plan of the vision” you may dial *326# from any network to access the quality of service being offered by Ecobank Mobile money. |

Foreign Affairs / Mandela Dies At 94! by eksammy(m): 7:47am On Jun 27, 2013 |
I hope this is not true but if it is....All I can say is 'Adieu...Ikemba Africa' http://guardianlv.com/2013/06/nelson-mandela-life-support-shut-down-as-respected-humanitarian-dies-age-94/ http://www.cbc.ca/player/Radio/The+Sunday+Edition/ID/2393962275/ Nelson Mandela Life Support Shut Down as Respected Humanitarian Dies Age 94 Added by Michael Smith on June 26, 2013. Saved under Breaking News!, Michael Smith, South Africa, World Nelson Mandela Dead at 94 A reliable source has revealed that Nelson Mandela’s life support machine was shut down and he has died in the hospital aged 94. According to the source, the iconic Mandela died last night while he was still in the hospital for the recurring lung infection that left him in critical condition for several days. Rumors have flooded the newspapers and the internet with several sources reporting his death days earlier in a cruel attempt to fool the public and to upset the many people who have respect for this great humanitarian. The loss of the great man will be felt across the world. Earlier today one of our writers, Laura Oneale, wrote an article questioning whether or not Nelson Mandela was still alive. He had been in the hospital 19 days for a recurring lung infection. As speculation surrounding his health continued to grow with many asking whether he was still alive or if, in fact, he had died. Until recently authorities would only confirm that he was on a life support system and remained in a critical condition. Authorities have confirmed that Nelson Mandela has been taken off his life support machine, adding fuel to the speculation that he had died. Because of this, the rumor has been spreading that Nelson Mandela died last night and that the government and his family have “kept a lid” on the news because of American President Obama’s upcoming trip to South Africa. Obviously, the president’s visit will be overshadowed by the announcement of the Nobel Prize winning Mandela. The Nobel Prize winning humanitarian Nelson Mandela had his life support shut down after he died last night aged 94 at the end of a long battle with illness that ended with his hospitalization and finally his death. While his health problems started in 2011, it was the summer of this year when his condition worsened. In February 2011, he was briefly hospitalized with a respiratory infection, attracting international attention. He was then re-hospitalized for a lung infection and gallstone removal in December 2012. After his successful medical procedure in March 2013 did not prevent his lung infection from recurring he was briefly hospitalized in Pretoria. On June 8, 2013, his lung infection worsened and he was re-hospitalized in Pretoria in a serious condition. After four days, it was reported that he had stabilized and that he remained in a “serious, but stable condition”. While on his way to the hospital, the ambulance carrying Mandela broke down and was stranded on the roadside for 40 minutes. The South African government was criticized for the incident when it confirmed the report weeks later. President Jacob Zuma protested: “There were seven doctors in the convoy who were in full control of the situation throughout the period. He had expert medical care.” On June 22, 2013 CBS News reported that Mandela had not opened his eyes in days and that he was unresponsive. The family began discussing just how much medical intervention should be given. On June 23, 2013 President Jacob Zuma issued a statement saying that Mandela’s condition had become “critical.” Zuma, who was accompanied by the Deputy President of the ANC, Cyril Ramaphosa, met with Mandela’s wife Graca Machel at the hospital in Pretoria and discussed his condition. On June 25, 2013, Cape Town Archbishop Thabo Makgoba visited Mandela at the hospital and prayed with Graca Machel Mandela “at this hard time of watching and waiting.” On June 26, 2013, Nelson Mandela was taken off life support after his condition deteriorated further. Sources have said that the 94 year-old Mandela died last night after his life support was shut down. The Las Vegas Guardian Express writer Laura Oneale also wrote that in Qunu, the home town of Nelson Mandela, his family got together with the elders to discuss specific events surrounding the well-being of Mandela. It has been confirmed that they were talking about highly sensitive issues. The grandson of Nelson Mandela angrily left the meeting over a disagreement of where the former president was to be buried. Mandela’s daughter, who was seen wearing a red blanket, and other family members were at the gravesite. It has been reported that the “red blanket” is part of a tribal ceremony of the Xhosa. According to Xhosa custom the blanket is used when a family member has died. Later in the same day, gravediggers arrived at the Mandela burial site. Sources have confirmed that Nelson Mandela died last night after his life support was shut down and the respected iconic humanitarian has died age 94. Details of the funeral arrangements will be released when they become available. By Michael Smith 1 Like |

Politics / Re: CBN Cancels N100 Monthly ATM Maintenance Fee... by eksammy(m): 11:45pm On Mar 29, 2013 |
pekelepekele: Well that is just too bad of CBN . I don't own a bank or either a bank staff but one thing I have noticed is that since they canceled the N100 charge on different bank cards on a particular ATM machine the banks are no longer loading all their ATMS and ATM machines are becoming much more non reliable . They should just reduce the price to N50 because the banks won't carry out their proper duties in any area they are not earning from. What you do not know is that while the N100 withdrawal charge was removed for atm customers, the CBN also approved a N75 inter bank chage for bank customers using their cards on another bank's ATM. For example, if a GTB customer use her card on firstbank's atm, GTB will have to pay first bank N75. So this will force the banks to either keep cash in their machines or they stop issuing cards as it will be incuring heavy costs for them. oya pay me for this insider info |

nwachukwuosite: Fellow nairalander, i am sorry for the offensive post i made before agaist vinscomm and the poster of this thread. It was because of the 3 hrs delay in sending my sending the 1000 unit i ordered for so i got angry and wanted to use this medium to show my anger. That the pin has been sent to, i will remove the post. and I still put it to you that chikasson = nwachukwu osite. PEOPLE BEWARE! look at what this same nwachuwu posted in 2012 below Jobs/Vacancies / Read This And Help Your Self by nwachukwuosite: 2:41pm On Jul 28, 2012 I like naija youths, they are all hard working, Though they sulf and suffer online instead of surfing to enjoy. I remembered what happened to me four years ago when I was still a newbie, my father sold a land (#500,000) and gave me the money to leave village and join my friends in Lagos for business. At Lagos I decided to go for online business, trust the scammers in the internet. All I see any time I type how to make money online through google is : “how to make $5,000,000 a day”, “how to get richer than Bill Gate within a month”, “How to hack USA website and banks “, “how to make $2,500 within a weak, “ how I made my first $1,000,000 online, how to make money with an affiliate programme. The case of affiliate programme is true but some of the affiliate will refuse to pay me then. But today those guys has learned to reduce the prices they qoute, some will now tell you “how to make $100 a day,how to make $50 a day. The truth about it is that many of them has not made a single dollar online. Many of them don’t even have an online account and they will be telling you they will teach you how to create a paypal account in some paypal restricted countries. I was caused to lavish all the money my father gave to me buying ebooks online that will teach me how to do this and that. I have to pay money to get those ebooks because I don’t like free things. I will not lie to you guys , I benefitted from atleast 5% of the ebooks I bought online while other 95% of the ebooks is a waste of money and time reading rooster and bull story. Money is not difficult to waste, within a year after I had exhausted all the money I could not buy cloths or change my shoe, infact feeding is a problem. Some times I cook rice without crayfish and maggi, all my friends then calls me internet man, I don’t know if it means a joke for them. At a time I decided to go back to my father telling him that armed robbers collected the money from me and he said “go and collect the money back from them”. At the second year being 2010 I started reaping the dividends o f the nice ebooks I bought as I put them into practise. To make the story short the banks has started smiling on me. This is the work of six out of the 102 ebooks bought online I suffered online then to make sure I make the money because of “onwa December”. This should be a lessson for those of you who had just built a web site waiting to make some large amount of money to pay your bills within a space of some months. To make my sermon more easier to understand don’t be decieved of where you will make money online withou doing any work. Personally I make my own money through clickbank, affilliate marketing, designing of website for individuals and companies, selling of ebooks, printing of recharge cards, online survey. etc I have two private websites and I am working on the third websitenow ( www.obtzone.com )You can visit it to see how a professional website looks like. I have designed about 50 websites to some companies and individuals all at different format since 2011 and I am very fast in doing that. You will see the inscription “site designed by V.C.okorie-08055698484” at the bottom page of every site I designed. You too should learn how to design a website because some large business organizations, those in academic fields were all looking for a professional web designers. Most of those organizations will be paying you annually to manage and update their sites. If started I will show you how to convince some of your lecturers , politicians and business men on why they need to create their own web site. My intension of posting this article here is to see how we can jointly create work for ourselves, lets say ‘NO’ to white collar jobs, it is a lazy man’s work and you can never make real money from it. Many people could not make money through affiliate marketing because they use free website and blogs, and some people don’t know how to hide their IP’s in some sites that restrict our country. Just try a paid web site and you will see the difference I promise to be there for your help. There is no way you can loose by having your own paid site. I will show you how to invite some companies looking for a site to advertise their products. Their advert will cover your annual subscription payment to the host. Make sure you don’t bother yourself on how to go for free browsing cheat to run your online business. Free cheat will not allow you to hide your IP in some cases when you need to do so. You can buy atleast etisalat #1,000 (260mb) data plan and use it for a month. If you are a beginner and you don’t know where to start, send ‘how to start online business ebooks’ to kcvino1@gmail.com or 08055698484. With the experience I have in online business which I have put together in a single book, you don’t need to be a computer wizard to understand it. Just like me I did not go to a computer school, infact with the type of english I am speaking here you can guess my level of education. Please I will have to tell you the truth before you jump into online business. It is not as easy as they use to promise you online. They will tell you “work for four hours and sleep with the remainning 20 hours. It is a direct opposite if you really want to make it big online. Infact some time you may not even create time to visit your friends if started. If after four months of following my simple ebook and you could not make any thing online, that means online business is not your destiny, then think of how you will raise forty thousand naira for the offline business I will show you how to do Always visit www.obtzone.com to help your academic life by buying your cheap departmental ebooks (Quote) (Report) 1 Like (Like) |
