HealthWorld 'losing Battle' To Contain Ebola: Nigeria Needs To Sit Up And Take Notice by Ekundayo7(op): 6:15pm On Sep 02, 2014
Take precautions, use good hygiene and sanitary measures, more importantly, put together at least a month of tinned food and clean drinking water for each member of your compound. Keep a rotating stock of slow perishing food such as yam. Get surgical gloves, bottles of bleach, hydrogen peroxide and store out of the heat/sun in a cool corner. Be prepared for the worst and be happy when it does not come. It is better to live through an epidemic, if it takes Nigeria down, than perish from ignorance of the virus and a lack of preparation.

Dakar (AFP) - International medical agency Medecins sans Frontieres said Tuesday the world was "losing the battle" to contain Ebola as the United Nations warned of severe food shortages in the hardest-hit countries.

MSF told a UN briefing in New York that world leaders were failing to address the epidemic and called for an urgent global biological disaster response to get aid and personnel to west Africa.

"Six months into the worst Ebola epidemic in history, the world is losing the battle to contain it. Leaders are failing to come to grips with this transnational threat," said MSF international president Joanne Liu.

"The (World Health Organization) announcement on August 8 that the epidemic constituted a 'public health emergency of international concern' has not led to decisive action, and states have essentially joined a global coalition of inaction."

Liu called for the international community to fund more beds for a regional network of field hospitals, dispatch trained personnel and deploy mobile laboratories across Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

MSF said in a statement accompanying the briefing that the crisis was particularly acute in Liberia's capital, Monrovia, where it is estimated that "800 additional beds are needed".

"Every day we have to turn sick people away because we are too full", said Stefan Liljegren, MSF's coordinator at the ELWA Three Ebola unit in Monrovia.

"I have had to tell ambulance drivers to call me before they arrive with patients, no matter how unwell they are, since we are often unable to admit them."

MSF said that while its care centres in Liberia and Sierra Leone were overcrowded, people were continuing to die in their communities.

"In Sierra Leone, highly infectious bodies are rotting in the streets," their statement said.

The Ebola outbreak has killed 1,552 people and infected 3,062, according to the latest figures released by the WHO.

At current infection rates, the agency fears it could take six to nine months and at least $490 million (373 million euros) to bring the outbreak under control, by which time over 20,000 people could be affected.

- Plunged into poverty -

The UN's Food and Agriculture Organization issued an alert that restrictions on movement in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone had led to panic buying, food shortages and severe price hikes.

"Access to food has become a pressing concern for many people in the three affected countries and their neighbours," said Bukar Tijani, FAO Regional Representative for Africa.

"With the main harvest now at risk and trade and movements of goods severely restricted, food insecurity is poised to intensify in the weeks and months to come.

"The situation will have long-lasting impacts on farmers' livelihoods and rural economies."

The food security alert was sounded as the WHO announced a separate Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has now killed 31 people, although it added that the contagion was confined to an area 800 kilometres (500 miles) north of Kinshasa.
The WHO had previously given a death toll of 13 for the country.

Quarantine zones imposed in the epicentre of the west African outbreak will lead to food shortages for "large numbers" of people, the FAO said, with the main harvest season for rice and maize just weeks away.

Production of cash crops like palm oil, cocoa and rubber is also expected to be seriously affected, throwing people further into poverty.

Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone rely heavily on imports for cereals and other commodities.

- Emergency operation -

The closure of border crossings where the three countries meet, as well as reduced trade at seaports, is strangling supply and sending prices soaring, the FAO said.

In Liberia, which has been hardest-hit with 694 deaths, the price of the national staple cassava in market stalls in Monrovia went up 150 percent within the first weeks of August, the FAO said.

"Even prior to the Ebola outbreak, households in some of the affected areas were spending up to 80 percent of their incomes on food," said Vincent Martin, Head of FAO's Resilience Hub in Dakar, Senegal.

"Now these latest price spikes are effectively putting food completely out of their reach. This situation may have social repercussions that could lead to subsequent impact on the disease containment."

The UN's World Food Programme (WFP) launched an emergency operation on Tuesday to get 65,000 tonnes of food to 1.3 million people in the worst-hit areas.

It said it was deploying 50 additional staff across the three most affected countries.

The outbreak of Ebola, transmitted through contact with infected bodily fluids, has sparked alarm throughout west Africa but also further afield, with international flights being cancelled and countries scrambling to come up with a cure.

Japanese researchers said Tuesday they had developed a new method to detect the presence of the Ebola virus in 30 minutes, with technology that could allow doctors to quickly diagnose infection.

ISIS publication Dabiq

The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant produces a full-color digital magazine called Dabiq to spread propaganda, promote its successes and attract recruits in the West. (Image: ISIS/Al-Hayat Media)

(CNSNews.com) – The latest propaganda publication by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) is clearly designed to lure more recruits from Western countries, portraying an idealized picture of a band of “strangers from the East and the West,” drawn together despite national and ethnic differences, in common allegiance to one leader and one sacred cause.

Entitled Dabiq, the slick, full-color digital magazine has been produced in English and several other European languages. The style and grammar suggest first-language English writer or writers, and the spelling is American rather than British.

The magazine’s inaugural edition appeared in early July, highlighting the “caliphate” announced by ISIS days earlier. A second edition underscored the religious basis for ISIS’ vision, arguing that those who oppose Allah’s will will be punished, just as those who mocked Noah when he built the ark where punished in the Flood.

The 42-page third edition, just released, reports on advances the group has made in Syria and Iraq, responds to U.S. airstrikes against the group in northern Iraq, and attempts to justify the beheading of American journalist James Foley by laying the blame for his death on President Obama.

It says the U.S. over many months refused to take the steps necessary to save Foley’s life, even as several unnamed European governments had negotiated to have “a dozen” of their hostages released.

“That left a number of British and American prisoners remaining in the cells of the Islamic State, only after their governments arrogantly refused to release our imprisoned brothers and our sister, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.”

The magazine also describes Foley’s beheading as retribution for the U.S. airstrikes in Iraq, and says it was “a cooling balm for the believers’ hearts to witness the execution.”

Obama is labeled a “crusader” and “apostate” who – “with Allah’s permission” – will continue to follow in the footsteps of President Bush “and ultimately bring about the complete collapse of the modern American empire.”

The main intent of the third edition of Dabiq, as with the earlier two, appears to be to attract young Muslims from around the world. It is entitled “A call of hijrah” – or migration to the Islamic state.

One article says the caliphate has become “the largest collection of muhajirin [emigrants; Mohammed’s original followers]” and “a marvel of history.”

Was there ever a state in history, it asks, “established by the emigration of poor strangers from the East and the West, who then gathered in an alien land of war and pledged allegiance to an ‘unknown’ man [a reference to ISIS “caliph” Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi], in spite of the political, economic, military, media, and intelligence war waged by the nations of the world against their religion, their state, and their hijrah?”

“And in spite of the fact that they did not have any common ‘nationality,’ ethnicity, language, or worldly interests, nor did they have any prior acquaintance! This phenomenon is something that has never occurred in human history, except in the case of the Islamic State!”

The article says ISIS commanders and fighters are “of different colors, languages, and lands: the Najdi [Saudi], the Jordanian, the Tunisian, the Egyptian, the Somali, the Turk, the Albanian, the Chechen, the Indonesian, the Russian, the European, the American and so on.”

“The Islamic State has become a reality that everyone can see. Even the apostates cannot ignore its threat, let alone the cross worshippers and the Jews.”

ISIS fighters in Deir el-Zour

Mohammed as model

The magazine includes numerous quotes from the Qur’an and Islamic hadiths, providing context from the life of Mohammed to justify the group’s brutal actions. These are backed up by much more recent writings, notably the views of Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian terrorist who founded ISIS’ precursor al-Qaeda in Iraq and led it until his 2006 death in a U.S. bombing.

For instance, one article defends a decision to execute in eastern Syria – a photograph of the mass shooting is featured – on the basis that they had agreed to submit to the caliphate but then “betrayed their covenant by rebelling.”

It then cites a hadith which recounted how Mohammed, when faced with treachery, ordered that the perpetrators have their hands and feet cut off, their eyes gouged out with hot irons, and be left to die.

“This hadith shows the severity of the prophetic punishment against the treacherous, false claimants of Islam,” the article says, saying that the Syrian tribesmen had been guilty of a similar “wicked deed.”

The magazine reports on major recent ISIS “conquests,” among them the capture just a week ago week of a Syrian regime airbase in Raqqa province, and the earlier seizure of areas of Iraq’s Ninawa (Nineveh) province, some of which it says were occupied by Yazidis.

It says hundreds of the Yazidis had repented and converted to Islam while others fled with the “apostate” Kurdish Peshmerga fighters.

The publication does not refer directly to the mass killings of religious minorities, but leaves no doubt about how contemptuously ISIS regards the “cross worshippers” and the “devil-worshipping” Yazidis.

Muslims who do not embrace the caliphate are condemned as hypocrites, weak-hearted, and those who have deserted the obligation of jihad. The magazine observed that some Muslims had even publicly declared “their enmity against it in bizarre competition with the crusaders and the apostates.”

Dabiq is named for a town in Syria’s Aleppo governate that was the site of an important 16th century battle, and also features prominently in Islamic eschatology.

Patrick Sookhdeo, international director of Barnabas Fund and an expert on radical Islam, notes that Dabiq is mentioned in a hadith that prophesies an end-time battle in which Muslims will conquer Christians, en route to conquering the entire world.

“In Islamic eschatology, Jesus, whom Muslims call Isa, will descend via a minaret of the Great Mosque in Damascus, and from there he will lead his armies to victory,” Sookhdeo says.

“‘Victory’ means destroying every cross, killing every Jew and pagan, and either converting every Christian to Islam or killing them. This apocalyptic dimension is now shaping ISIS as it sees itself fighting an End Time battle.”

The bride price in my place is 25Naira(With few items)if u like be a multi millionaire is not their business, just pay d bride price, what they want is for u to take proper care of their daughter....#Thatsall
Is true. I saw one list that would stock a market stall. Tinned milks, biscuits, bags of rice, sugar, salt, noodle, goats, chicken, etc. It is nonsense. As long as the boy is bringing pepper, honey, salt, yam, etc for a traditional meeting with the family, that is what is important, respect and willingness to sit down and consummate the deal by lowering head to the man of the house and father of the bride, both sides offering in good faith and wishes for a sweet union.

priscaoge: My concern should be d "Payment of my bride price" and not d quality of the ring. Meet my people n off we go. People don't ask if he engaged u with a gold ring, all they wanna hear is that Ur bride price has been paid #Shikina
Bride price has transformed into something it shouldn't have, but it is the underlying premise that is correct. A man should prove how far he is willing to go for a daughter's hand in marriage, and where it hurts is the pocket. It should be adjusted for rich man or poor man, but traditional "price" of food stuffs is a must. If the man wants to buy a nice ring and can, let him. But he needs to respect the family first and foremost, but not if they are adding and making a list like he is Father Christmas.

VantagePoint: I was catfished yesterday.
I hooked up with this ?beautiful gal on a popular online dating forum. She was/is exquisitely beautiful, with large, liquid, limpid eyes you could drown yourself in. She had a flawless skin.We chatted, exchanged BBM PINs, phone numbers, the whole nine yards.
I dished out my spiel and we finally agreed to meet at a Captain Cook's outlet.
My brimming anticipation turned to dismay when I saw her.
She had the dirtiest sclera (white part of the eyes) I have ever seen and(this brought tears to my eyes) two long, vertical tribal marks on her cheeks.
Her face was so heavily made up she had trouble smiling.
I was sure if I had scratched her face I would have revealed more imperfections.
Now all these didn't really detract from the fact that despite the few flaws she has (who doesn't), she was still beautiful. What beats me was going all the way to hide them to attract someone. Someone you intend to meet.
Awwww....I don't share your tears in the op up top I bolded. I find tribal marks very beautiful and sexy on a woman. It shows me she has parents who are proud of their origin, proud of their family lineage and that she was raised knowing who she is and where she comes from. I know some people think it is wrong to not give a child a choice in the matter, but outside custom and culture is the changing factor nowadays. For all you girls out there with tribal mark, there are men who love your face so don't hide it or be ashamed please. Probably because he is relying on the chicken eggs for his own household food. Some that escaped after being brutally raped have committed suicide by plunging to their deaths from Mt. Sinjar.

As many as 3,000 Iraqi women have been taken captive in the last two weeks by the Islamist terror group Islamic State (formerly ISIS, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria), as the group has run rampant across northern Iraq and eastern Syria. Hundreds of men have been shot to death or beheaded.

According to UN officials, “barbaric acts” of sexual violence including “savage rapes” have been perpetrated against women, teenage girls and boys from the Yazidis, Christians, Turkomen and Shabak – all minority groups in Iraq.

Adding to the horror, Yazidi parents report that their daughters who managed to escape after being raped and joined their families who had taken refuge on Mount Sinjar committed suicide. After begging others to kill them (a request that was refused), the girls jumped off the mountain cliff and plunged to their deaths.

In addition, after overrunning the eastern Syrian province of Deir al-Zor, the Islamic State is reported to have executed 700 members of the al-Sheitaat tribe prominent in the area. Most of those executed were said to be civilians. The executions took place by beheading.

The Islamist group has been battling the tribe since last month when it overtook two oil fields in the area.

"We appeal to the other tribes to stand by us because it will be their turn next ... If (Islamic State) are done with us the other tribes will be targeted after al-Sheitaat. They are the next target," said the head of the al-Sheitaat tribe, Sheikh Rafaa Aakla al-Raju, in a video message posted on YouTube.

The Islamic State has given tribes, communities and entire cities in Syria and Iraq the choose between death or conversion to Islam and allegiance to the militant group.

Locals report that choice was given to the Yazidis in Kojo when the Islamic State over the village in northern Iraq early last week. The group spent five days preaching to the Yazidis to accept Islam and join forces with the Islamic State. When the Yazidis -- who adhere to an ancient religion that re-dates Islam -- refused, the slaughter began.

Eighty men were reportedly rounded up and shot, while more than 100 women and girls were kidnapped. Mahama Khalil, a Yazidi member of Iraq’s parliament, said the massacre took place during a one-hour period.

Speaking to Reuters, a senior Kurdish official, Hoshiyar Zebari, said on Friday, “They [the Islamic State] arrived in vehicles and they started their killing this afternoon. We believe it's because of their creed: convert or be killed.”

Zebari said the women and girls were most likely taken to the cities of Mosul and Tal Afar, both under control of the Islamic State.

Amid reports that 500 Yazidi men had been slaughtered to date by the Islamic State, a British jihadist writing on Twitter Wednesday said that the Islamist group was holding hundreds of Iraqi women as sex slaves for the group in Syria.

“I can confirm that we have hundreds of yazidi slave women now in Syria, how about that for news!” tweeted Nasser (Abul) Muthana, 20, a former school boy from Cardiff. Muthana, who was accepted to four medical schools, made headlines earlier this year when he and another successful British friend both left the UK to join the Islamic State in Syria. The two were featured in a high-profile recruiting video in English.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, is thought to be referring to reports that 300 women from the Yazidi community were kidnapped from near Mount Sinnjar when the terror group laid siege to the area where the refugees had escaped to for 10 days.

The U.S. has continued airstrikes against the group in northern Iraq, helping Kurdish forces who are trying to retake the strategic Mosul dam. The Islamic State is reported to have 400 fighters guarding the dam.

Meanwhile, in Bagdad, Iraq former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has agreed to step down amid international and domestic pressure to let Haider al-Abadi, a veteran Shiite politician take over leadership of the embattled country.

davidif: I know but you can't just arrest someone because of their country of origin. That's just straight awful. What if America and England started arresting Nigerians in America simply because they come from a country that experienced the Ebola outbreak?
I remember when Nairalanders where mad that Donald Trump proposed canceling all flights from West Africa during the height of the outbreak yet Naija is doing pretty much worse than that. Arresting someone based on nationality. How awful.
Liberia is not even allowing sailors to debark ship at any ports along their coast, that should give you an idea that Liberia is currently a total chaotic mess. The borders are "supposed" to be sealed, we know that money talks and anyone with cash is going to try their damndest to get the hell out of the hot zone. These people do need to be at least detained and tested, quarantined if need be. Liberia closed almost ALL borders save major airports where supposedly they have health "measures" in place for testing. We know how those "measures" went with Devil Sawyer, right? Ivory Coast has officially closed its borders. Nigeria? Well, if you flash cash anywhere along the line we know you will be granted entrance.smh...

Yomieluv: These foreigners are hell bent on destroying Nigeria.

Can't explain the sudden influx to Nigeria,as if Nigeria is a sort of Mecca for the cure.

They should sit their azz at their home country.
The "sudden influx" is mass chaos, famine and rioting. Just take a look at the news. This is the tip of the iceberg. If Nigeria does not step up her game, ebola is going to ravage this country. Leave it to Nigerian "officials" to drop the ball at this crucial moment when ebola is spiraling out of control in Liberia and neighboring countries and popping up in new countries (Senegal, DR Congo). My advice is be prepared with sufficient water and tinned food stores etc, to last several months. It is better to be prepared for the worst than suffer. My prayers are with those poor people isolated inside entire communities where the disease is out of control. Even there, people are bribing their way out to escape death. This is a disaster of epic scale.

This world is a mystery o. I remember some years back when I had a very important meeting that I couldn't afford to miss so I set my alarm for 4.30am so that I could have enough time to prepare and leave home by 5.30am. I was deeply asleep when I heard the sound of someone hitting my window from outside. Now I live on the second floor of my building, with no balcony attached so someone knocking on my window is impossible. Ignored it and kept on sleeping. It knocked a second time, I didn't respond. The third time was so loud that I thought the window was about to break. I sprang up from the bed, with my heart in my mouth. I peeped through the net, but of course I didn't see anything. I picked up my phone, only to realise that my phone battery had died during the night (I forgot to charge it). This was the phone that was supposed to wake me up with its alarm. I went in search of my wristwatch, found it and checked the time.

It was 4.30am on the dot.

It seems that since my earthly alarm failed me, the heavenly alarm took it upon itself to wake me because if I had been late for this function, it would have had serious consequences. So my dear, things are happening out there that defies explanation. Anyone who wants to believe otherwise does so at their own peril.
Heheheheh nice story. For sure was your spiritual mates helping you out or one ancestor who is linked with you and trying to help. Thanks for the smile reading this.

AlBaqir:

Its like you are a Yoruba man but slave of the western world just like your ancestors (no offense but reality).

You speak and write English! Na your Yoruba father language be that? Language slavery!

You wear T-shirt and trousers; covered shoe and trainers with socks! Na your father code of dressing be that? Clothing slavery!

Ancient Yoruba used to build their homes with clay soil and paint it with bull-poo (igbe maalu called eboto)! Why did you changed bro?

It is interesting in the Yoruba myth that Oduduwa, Yoruba Adam, migrated from Mecca, an Arab-land, to ile-ife

I can go on and on. Your slavery knows no bound. Just as your ancestors were made slave, you are also into modern slavery.

Islam is a universal religion though started in Arabia. Looking at the structure of the Quran, the golden book talks in a general terms to accommodate mankind of all ages and all nations. The sayings of the prophet of Islam is also the same except in few occasions where he was specific about the Arabs. He had companions from all races - African, Persian, Asian etc. Islam has its own code of conduct while the Arabs has there though people mix it together.

Kindly be a gentleman and stop derailing this thread.
macof: This guy must be a joker

1. My ancestors were never slaves, I can trace my ancestry to the last 5 generations, we have no records of slavery in how household, we never even kept slaves either

2. I speak and write 3 languages, including English and Yoruba
How has expanding your knowledge to learn different languages of the world turned you to a slavehuh
As a Nigerian it is also mandatory to learn English.
Or if I start writing in Yoruba, you would appreciate that?? Would you even understand a thing?
This ur logic jst shows how desperate you are to justify your Arab shiit licking

3. Have you ever seen.mehuh Where did u see me wearing T-shirt, covered shoe??

4. Clay soil?? Since when? most buildings constructed into the 15th century were done with bricks and timber
Huts made of clay are over 1000yrs

5. Oduduwa is not from Mecca, only dummies and muslims propagate that Lamurudu story, it has no single truth

6. Modern slavery you say...I am a proud Yoruba you hear that?
I have nothing to do with slavery, my ancestors were never slaves.
It is you who is a slave, mentally and intellectually imprisoned to Arab nationalism

Any Muslim who is non-Arab follows Arabic laws, he is a slave to the Arabs
And that is why Arabs would treat them like slaves
Brother, let the leather heads get back to debating the molestation of girl children, that is their preferred topic and thread and we have been warned to not derail the thread so best we leave. Oil and water don't mix, at least not in my land.

The Incredible Story of Finnish Sniper Simo Hayha

Simo Häyhä aka “The White Death” is widely regarded as the most hardcore sniper there ever was, with over 500 kills to his name. He helped defend his homeland from the Soviets during World War II. Here is his story.
Humble Beginnings

Depending on the record, Simo Häyhä was born in either 1905 or 1906 in the farming town of Rautajärvi. Once the Soviet Union was formed and Finland had gained its independence, the town in which he lived found itself to be only a very short distance from the Russian border. His childhood was filled with plenty of hard work on the farm, which coupled with the Finnish wilderness made him a very tough – yet patient – man. A few years later in 1925, Häyhä served a mandatory one-year service in Finland’s army. While one year may not be a long time, he obviously made the best of it: by the time he was honorably discharged, he had been promoted to the rank of corporal.

Later on, Häyhä joined the Finnish Civil Guard, a military organization comparable to the National Guard in the United States. During his time with the Civil Guard, he received a great deal of training, which included target shooting. Shooting was always an interest for Häyhä, and any spare time he had was spent outdoors shooting at whatever targets he could find. His first rifle was a Russian-built Mosin-Nagant bolt action M91, and was later introduced to the better-performing M28/30 and the 9mm Suomi submachine gun. Thanks to both his training and natural enjoyment of shooting, Häyhä was eventually able to hit a target 16 times per minute at about 500 feet away, making him an excellent sniper—a skill that would later serve him very well.
The Winter War

In 1939, the Soviet Union attempted to invade Finland. Being a member of the Civil Guard, Häyhä was called into service, serving under the 6th Company of JR 34 on the Kollaa River. Commanded by Major General Uiluo Tuompo, the Finns faced both the 9th and 14th Soviet Armies, and at one point were fighting against as many as 12 divisions— about 160,000 soldiers. Also at one point in the same area, there only 32 Finns fighting against over 4,000 Soviets!

Despite being outnumbered, however, the Finns were still victorious at the end of the day. The invading Soviets weren’t as organized as one would expect: they spoke many different languages, and they weren’t used to the harsh Finnish winters either. In fact, the winter of 1939-40 was very snowy, and had temperatures ranging from -40 to -20 degrees Celsius.

The Finns were also smart in their tactics, the most notable of which were known as “Motti”-tactics. Since the Soviets would invade by the roads, the Finns would hide out in the surrounding wilderness. They would then let the invaders cross the border, and attack them from behind!
Becoming “The White Death”

Hayha’s involvement in the Winter War was very extraordinary. With his Mosin-Nagant M91 rifle, he would dress in white winter camouflage, and carry with him only a day’s worth of supplies and ammunition. While hiding out in the snow, he would then take out any Russian who entered his killing zone. Hayha preferred to use iron sights on his gun instead of scopes, as scopes had a tendency to glare in the sunlight and reveal his position. While he may sound like an ordinary sniper, this was far from the case: over the course of 100 days during the winter he racked up over 500 kills, earning him the nickname “The White Death”. The Soviets feared him so much that they mounted numerous counter sniper and artillery attacks to get rid of him, all of which failed miserably. However, on March 6th, 1940, he was hit in the jaw by an explosive round from a counter sniper. He fell into an 11-day coma, awakening on the day that the war ended.
Legacy

Hayha was given numerous awards, and was also promoted from corporal to second lieutenant, a jump in the ranks that had never been seen in Finland’s history. Despite being slightly disfigured, he recovered from his injury, and went on to live until the age of 97. He allegedly attributed his deadly sniping skills to “practice”.

Despite gaining around 22,000 square miles of Finish soil, the Soviets lost the Winter War, with 1,000,000 of their original 1,500,000 troops having been killed by the defending Finns. A Russian general later remarked that the land they had conquered was “just enough to bury their dead”.

ElPhenomenal: To white death, the sniper with the highest numbers of kills
That whole Winter War in Finland was f'ing unbelievable. If you get a chance, google it. There is also a movie in Finnish on the Winter War, unbelievable. They were the ONLY nation to STOP the friggin RED ARMY in their tracks after they had overran basically all of Europe. Just dusted them in the forests with guerrilla war tactics on skis. They lured tanks out onto frozen lakes where they sank, ran up to tanks to jam the treads and threw Molotov cocktails into the turret holes. Google "Mannerheim Steamroller" if you want a good read. Finland handed Russia's azz back to them and decimated their ranks into the millions even while outnumbered 10 to 1. Good reading if you are a war buff.

You did not see a doctor, you saw a quack. Malaria does not just "go away" with no treatment. If you are bitten by the P. falciparum mosquito you can face death. The P.ovale P.vivax are not as capable of causing death but it is not smart to be hosting malaria parasites in your liver and blood for any period of time. Did he even tell you which species of parasites are multiplying in your bloodhuh Go buy some Arthemeter and lumefantrine for falciparum infestation and don't fool around. Parasites can get a good foothold in your liver and cause recurring fevers. Go to a reliable clinic for a proper blood test and identify the mosquito then get the proper medicine. Take iron tablets and b vitamins to fortify your blood. Malaria will debilitate you over time.
