A man that was twice voted as chelseas player of the year in successive seasons and was also short listed for the PFA player of the year is the reason why his team would always end up being behind the leaders?


What were the other 10 MEN SUPPOSED TO DO? Or was the club then called "mata the superman of chelsea fc?" So its solely his fault for those final positions?

All these stats do not matter. There are players that are specialists in gathering individual stats for themselves. I always preferred some other players to Mata when at Chelsea. I usually don't rate passers, though. I think it is the simplest thing to do. I will take young Lampard over many of those passers we have now.

I always preferred Hazard to Mata. In that Chelsea 2011/2012 team, I loved to see Ramires, Malouda. Mata was just one of those players to me.

Though I also want us switching to 4-4-2 Formation, but I will rather prefer a Diamond Midfield - with Herrera/Fellaini/Carrick at the Base, Mata/Mkhtaryan at the Crown, Pogba on the Left and Herrera/Mkhtaryan on the Right.

Rooney and Ibra can play together upfront, or Martial and Rashford. Also Ibra and either Martial or Rashford can play upfront.

I hate the slow build up. Even if we played a Nani in number 10 in his hey days, he could have forced a goal or Assists against Burnley with 70% pass accuracy. I saw counter attacks situation but Pogba and Mata would rather return to pass back.

Nearly cannot kill a bird. Even Mourinho has acknowledged the quality is poo. A Juan Mata orchestrated team will always end up many points below the leaders. Chelsea finished 6th with Mata, and then finished 3rd with many points below the Champions, United. Mata left and Chelsea won the league in style.

Just knew you wouldn't take that. Rooney was a top runner in his days. Always there to start the counter and finish it. I believe it has taken a toll on his game. Most times when he's in the midfield his passes are always diagonal. Long passes to the wing but we saying let's see if there's someone that can make direct passes. Rooney used to be a handful for any defence but right now Rashford with no experience and all will create more problems any day. Rooney is undoubtedly a legend. I wouldn't blame him for any of our poor performances or loss. The wise thing to do any day is to leave when the ovation is the loudest. And I hope CR7 knows this too. Players like these that have given everything don't deserve to be remembered by the negatives and coaches trying to ease them out of the team.

I want to believe Rashford is having a big weight lifted off him at the moment. Last season, he went 5 games without a goal after his first two games where he scored 4 goals. Then he returned to scoring form against City. Towards the end of the season he scored one goal in 6 matches, having four straight match goals drought.

It is not like when he goes to the number 9 he will perform magic. The manager is using his speed to the fullest while saving him from criticism in the process. If Rashford went 5 goals without a goal from the number 9 position, hmmm he might be relegated like De Pay.

This would have made sense if it were still 11 vs 11. Again we were obviously crumbling, and the slow legs of Mata, his lack of height and sluggish Pogba were bound to let us down. If we had Bailly and Smalling behind them, it could be better. Herrera was the only quick midfielder among them.

Spur of the moment my foot. In the past 6-7 years, the only time we went on to win with ten men was in the FA cup final last season, courtesy of Valencia's quick legs (as long as my memory can remember) . Rooney is not done. We saw Rooney against Fernabache. He did very well on the night and helped us to open big spaces in the final third while contributing to two goals. He helped us to win the FA cup last season.

All the things he did in midfield is same that Pogba is doing. For now I see nothing different from what Rooney offered us in midfield last season and what Pogba offered now. Pogba, with all his power, could not race down the field yesterday when Burnley lost possession. Prefect opportunity for counter, Pogba reversed in two occasions. Now we count his pass accuracy, his long rage pass. Rooney did better than these when he returned from injury towards the end of last season.

Rooney and Carrick pairing against Everton, Palace, Bournemouth, etc last season saw Rooney being compared to Scholes. Now Pogba can't even give that performance.

When a 60+ year old wears close like an 18 year old it is bound to be irritating.

Her body fitness is praise worthy though.

If he needed to regain control of the midfield after the red card incident, he had the perfect candidate in Micheal Carrick. Further forward Zlatan Ibrahimović was firing blanks, no need to remove Juan Mata who was having an excellent game. Mouroune Fellaini replacing his height to win high balls near the box is logical and Marcus Rashford moved in the box.

There was no justification introducing Wayne Rooney. The rest were having an A-game. The manager panicked!

You say this because we didn’t lose the game. Sometimes people apply sentiments in judgement. Rooney and Fellaini have already made haters.

We played for 72 minutes without scoring. When we went 10 men, we immediately conceded our dominance. Our DM had been red carded, the only combative midfielder on the day. Our two center backs are not good in the air. Carrick would have been a wrong choice. Fellaini was to combat the threats from long balls. A lot of running needed to be done, and I think Rooney did well going up and down while also helping us to switch play left and right which helped us regain dominance. At the end there was no difference with playing 11 and playing 10. We pressed and created load of chances with 10 men, and our best chance came that period.

Rooney was pushed around and the quality of those around him helped him to grow a lot. I remember reading somewhere some time ago about Giggs seriously warning CR7 about some habits. Those stuffs helped Kids to grow a lot then. Who is helping Rashford? Ibra that misses chances like it's nothing? Also not everybody must take the same path as Rooney. I even think that's what is affecting Rooney right now. Jack of all, master of none.

Now why would such position be allocated to him when it's obvious that he is not cut for that especially at his young age. He is just learning to be a goal scorer why should he be shifted out to the wings? At the end of the season his stats will not be good enough for anything. He is a born goal scorer and that is what he should spend his time improving

Rooney was a born scorer, highest goals per minutes played in Euro 2004 when SAF pushed him to the wing on his arrival, and eventually behind the striker. It is about the personnel available to a coach. You can't have a proven goal scorer like Ibrahimovic and play another person there.

Sometimes last season we results didn't go well, we complained to ourselves that the attack was bad, and it was about the inconsistency of an 18 years old leading our line.

From the position allocated to him, his final balls should be picking a man in and around the box with great wit and precision. The decision to cut the ball back or play it across the goal line or raise it to his man's head or just cross it should be spot on. If he did that, he should be high on Assists and second Assists stats. Among the young lads, Martial has the best decision making, but he is also nowhere there yet compare to what we had before.

Don't get me wrong bro, I've seen quite a whole lot of stupid memes concerning Pogba despite the fact that it's the team that's messing up and that's why I talked about him....Same with DDG, both are playing extremely well but the team is letting them down..

He did well yesterday, and he played close to Herrera which helped us regained possession easily.
