The front 3 are the main problem. And Darmian of course.
The build up from midfield is too slow

It looks like Manchester United is still in preseason. These players are not fit. There is no work done in attack.

Shaw and Pogba brought disorganisation too early. Shaw could not keep one single ball, always heading away to another player when he should be controlling. Pogba on the other hand was losing possession any how.

I can't see what Pereira brings. Rashford cannot hold up play.

Wayne Rooney says Manchester United need two more signings before the Premier League deadline falls.

Rooney, now at MLS outfit DC United says they need at least two new faces to have any chance of dethroning champions Manchester City.

"I hope someone can catch City - it would be nice, so hopefully Manchester United can. I think maybe another signing or two.

“I know there has been a lot of talk about pre-season in the press but I am sure behind the scenes, Jose has been giving them the right amount of work."

The fact is that all our legends, and even legends of other clubs believe Mourinho needs two more players to be able to have a good season.

* If we don't buy players, it is an opportunity for us to see the best of the current players. There will be no hiding place for anyone. Martial will have plenty playing time.

We should know too that these players have matured playing together over the years, so they should do better. Fresh legs are always a plus though

* That number 10 jersey doesn't fit Rashford

I am one of Smalling biggest critic but there’s no way I will pray for him to leave ahead of Jones and Rojo. Just imagine we don’t have Smalling last season when injury was taking turns with Jones, Bailey and Rojo

The truth is that Jones and Smalling were almost equalling available/injured last season. Smalling played 5 games more, and if Jones was played in some matches he sat on the bench after returning from injury, it could have been same number of minutes played.

Jones and Smalling + £10m wouldn't be bad to seal Alderweireld Deal.

Seriously? Similar thing said when we were on the Lindelof case last summer

Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure all pre-season with the club
failing to deliver on his transfer targets.

It’s resulted in the bookies installing him as the favourite to be the
first Premier League manager sacked but Duncan Castles doesn’t think his
departure is inevitable.

He added: “I don’t think it’s an inevitability, but I think there are
decisions that have to be made by both parties.

“This is the core of Jose Mourinho’s problem at Manchester
United.
“That he wants to be there, he is there to bring the Premier
League title back to the club. That his ambition and that is what he
expects the club to want as well.

“When they were knocked out of the Champions League by
Sevilla at home last season, one of the things he tried to make
clear was this squad is not as good as Manchester City’s - who
are winning the Premier League. Any reasonable person could
see the squad Pep Guardiola inherited was stronger than the one
he inherited from Louis van Gaal.

This is what I have been saying that Guardiola inherited a far stronger team.

Which standard exactly, Every club go through a rough spell. Madrid didn't pass round of 16 in like six consequetive Season. Yet their board kept investing and bringing top players in. Is the investment not proving worthy now? Man City also spent alot some worked out and some didn't yet they continued now they have a steady team . Football has gone through bringing in youths and hoping they step up . Now it's either you spend or fall behind like Bayern Munich.

Omo, you know ball.

....... Reinforcements at left and right back were both seen as a priority at the start of this summer, which seemed wise; on the right of defence, the Louis van Gaal-purchased Matteo Darmian has floundered for two seasons, and Antonio Valencia’s age (32) mean that both able cover and a future replacement are needed.

The purchase of Diogo Dalot has certainly helped, but the Portuguese is hugely inexperienced in top-level football, and will require time to adjust to the rigours of Premier League football. Ashley Young and Luke Shaw will likely start the season as Mourinho’s options on the left of defence, but the former is 33 years of age, whilst the former’s United career has yet to take off in four years. Neither option screams solidity or certainty.

The right-hand side of attack was frequently problematic last season, and both Gareth Bale and Ivan Perisic have been mentioned as potential options, yet the former is almost certain to remain at Real Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus, and United were reluctant to bring the latter to Old Trafford last year for the quoted price of £50m due to the player’s age, and thus limited resale value.

The 29-year old’s transfer fee will only have risen since a starring role in Croatia’s World Cup campaign, making his capture from Inter Milan even less likely if United were quibbling over a few million pounds twelve months ago.

A rough look at EPL history shows me that it looks like Ferguson was the highest spender in his early days at United. Not very sure though.

Wenger was the highest spender in EPL for his first few years at Arsenal.

Mourinho was the highest spender in while at Chelsea.

Guardiola is the highest spender now despite inheriting a team that finished in UCL semi final.

He who spends most is likely to rule.

Interesting read. Other top teams are in no better condition than Utd, except Liverpool. Do you hear Poch and others complaining?

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45017413

Is Mourinho laying the ground for a long exit from Man Utd with his recent jamtalks?

Are we suppose to be on the level if City, Liverpool, Chelsea or above them. We are suppose to compete with Madrid, Barca, Juventus in quality of players.

So he has gotten 10 players and none of them he can work with? The club has spent over 400m euros for nothing? If this isn't an attribute of a bad manager, what is?

What number do you think Pogba and Sanchez will be on anybody's list?

Pogba looks to be the only number 1 we got.

Sanchez was an emergency buy.

All of them went on to shine in the world cup.

How do you know those ten first team players were his first choices? That is the issue.

At the end the signing is the fourth person on the list. Is the job well done? And may be too you say I want Ronaldo or Kane, and at the end they are getting number 5 on the list.

From Ibrahimovic, to Mhikitaryan, Pogba, Dalot, Sanchez, Bailey, Lindelof, Fred, Lukaku and even Matic. Bros tell me has the club not backed Mourinho enough?

I love Mourinho but he is not above criticism. Just look at the way he was rubbishing those youngsters. That was totally wrong of Mourinho.

From the names you mentioned, only Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez I can say the club did some hard work.

So he gave the board 5 players name.. And he's gotten 2 already. Why is he moaning.. Mou fvck off..

What if those 2 players are the least of the 5 names?

Who knows if last season Mbappe was his priority, and was not bought?

He alone knows why he is angry. We know Mourinho wouldn't want to struggle behind Guardiola again this season.

We haven't all the facts.

Which players is Mourinho looking to buy? Which one is the board frustrating?

At some point I heard we wanted to buy Shaqiri. Then I saw him at Liverpool last night while reviewing match highlights. I saw names like Kane being linked to us. So where will Lukaku play?

The world cup shows that Rashford has a long way to go. We are going to rely again on Lingard as our most consistent attacking player. I can bet that, except we buy.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 9:52am On Jul 30
Jones, Smalling and Rojo should be better ball players. Look at the England team, Stones doesn't have problem making penetrating passes forward. But Jones and Smalling only make safe passes left and right or attempt a long pass. Stones even carry the ball forward with ease, although he made a school boy mistake in the goal that eliminated England from the word cup.

De Gea is rated best goalkeeper in the world, but looking at how some other keepers command their boxes, I am tempted to think that De Gea is not the best for United in the EPL where long balls fly into the box every no and then. I still reason we might not have won the Europa if De Gea kept the goal instead of Romero.

The keeper that doesnt vomit shot couldn't hold that shot from CR7 taken outside the box. His strongest point became his weakest quality.

Well done England.

Play like the Germans
Play like the Spanish

A day will come, it will be play the English way.

This current team is young, and they still have many years to grow with experience.

But Sterling has been disappointing. If he could give 90% of what he does at City, England would be roasting opponents.

This is the best time to leave the competition between him and Messi. Staying in same league makes it very intense. Ronaldo has had the last laugh in the competition between the two. He won three UCL in a row, won three Ballon D'or in recent years, won a title to his country, dominated better in the current world cup.

Secondly, he might make history by helping Juventus to win the Champions League.

Mehn, everything has been said already. I didn’t come here for about a month or more, and I just read over a hundred pages. I skipped many many pages sha.

I had the premonition that we would lose the FA cup final. I didn’t see some of our last matches. About three matches in April and May. It appears some of the players like Lukaku were more interested in saving themselves for the world cup, in his absence Rashford struggled.

This season is our best season in the league since Ferguson left. Let’s watch out the transfers and see what next season has to offer. We need very good dribblers and magic workers in the midfield and attack. Sanchez didn't live up to expectation, he has already played his best football for Chile, Barca and Arsenal. It is possible also our players are not bringing out his best.

Of course the 1st half looked like Madrid vs Okomu FC. He dropped his negative football and the difference is obvious

No, you got it wrong.

Mourinho attempted to play attacking football from the beginning, but it didn't work and even exposed us. City exploited spaces between players and as well kept dropping the ball behind our defence which attempted to play high.

At half time, Mourinho made the players to play more compact, cover more kilometers sprinting. So the spaces between players disappeared.
