Yes in practice it is. Younger students woyld find it easier older students I believe. But I have seen older students even on this forum that got Visa with Community College I-20. It is all God at the end of the day and a bit of luck.author=brightdocare post=64606459] please don't mind me..oooo does it mean that is totally impossible to get a f-1 visa through CC?[/quote] |

LagosismyHome: I got two admissions, an mba and a cc. I used the mba's i20 for the interview, but transferred immediately when i arrived. Although the mba school was mad @ me and canceled my status, i rectified it subsequently. I fell out of status because i did not do my due diligence on the mba school's transfer policy. They insisted that i did at least a semester before I transfer. You just have to make sure that you choose your research. There are schools that allow you to transfer before you even start first semester. I have a friend who came with a B-1 visa and subsequently changed it to an F1 Visa. She was 30 and she used in I-20 directly from a cc. Like I said it only depends on your strategy. Anything is possible just look into your options. Personally, I would not advise the B1 to F1 route unless you have the time to wait because it usually takes around 9 months to 11 months to process. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Hello all. Im currently rounding up my nursing pre requisites at a cc. Hoping to transfer to a bsn program in fall 2018. Of recent, ive been looking up job prospects and opt for f1 students. It seems a bit scary and i'm not sure of the various routes i can take as an international student. Is it diffficult to get a job on opt? Do new grad programs accept international students? I plan to do a master's program and nurse practitioner subsequently. I am currently in Alabama. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello house. Please I need info on accelerated bsn programs or anyone who has done it. I am currently taking pre requisites courses in a community college in Alabama and I'm looking to join a program by January. I'm open to both public or private schools around the country but preferrably the south. My friends say they are highly competitive. Can anyone suggest schools with high international student acceptance rate? Any other helpful advice would be welcomed. Thanks |

Hey guys. Does anyone know of any scholarship or funding opportunities available to international students? I resumed in a cc in spring 2017. Im taking summer classes as well. I've paid for summer. My sponsor has informed me that he may not be able to help me out anymore. I'm thinking of all possible options. I'm taking nursing pre requisites and I plan to transfer to a 4 year college. Is it wise at this point to take an international student loan? As i have a sponsor who is willing to cosign? Please who has been in this situation? I need any useful info.God bless |

DeeTus: Please understand my question before calling me names. I have an existing b1. And I intend to get an f1 before I travel in December. However, my school resumes in February. My question is, since I will enter the country on my b1 (as the f1 allows entry 30days prior), do I need to leave and re enter? Or can I resume lectures at once without having to leave. |

Airich01: Yes u can change status from b1 to f1. But that was not my question. I plan to apply for f1 from naija before travelling. However ,I'll need to be in the USA earlier than the required 30days on my already existing b1 visa. |

Hi all. I just got my i20. Start date is in Feb but I want to apply for my students visa ASAP. Reason being that I plan to visit for a wedding first in December. I already have an existing b1 visa. The ish is this, since I cannot enter prior to 30days on an f1, Can I enter on the b1 and register in school subsequently without having to come back home?. Confused! |

Dear vo. Thank U so much for this forum. Quick question. I currently intend on going for a second Masters in business administration in the US. I obtained my first Masters from the UK and returned back immediately to work in Nigeria. I have worked for 2years and 5months. I have been to the US twice within the last 2years on a visitors visa(stayed 2 weeks on each visit). And I travel to Europe very often. I now intend on applying for an f1 visa. My questions are as follows: 1. Will the fact that I have a prior Masters degree be an issue? 2.would the v/o take ones previous travel history into consideration when determining his case 3.should I attach old passports to my new one? Your response would be highly appreciated. God bless |
