Thanks so much for the enlightenment.

Those private lenders do they operate throughout the US or regionally or on a state by state basis?

In short how do I find them so I can apply? should I send you a PM or can you answer here?

Whichever is convenient? I really appreciate your time
getting a student loan if you have a co signer shouldn't be what you should worry about. Just Focus on passing your board exams.Regards and best of luck !

I will AGREE and ALSO DISAGREE! It depends on him! Him having a Masters I think he wishes to pursue a career in the Academia! If he knows his onions he can do let's say a Second masters and a Phd and apply for Faculty officer position in a University! But like I said, it depends on him!

Bro, what do you think about Architecture, I studied ds course in OAU, graduated few years back, served already, I've been delaying masters, I really wanna move to the States, I don't mind a career change honestly, at this point.
Just tell me what you know about practicing architecture in the US

Dear Nairalanders

I am a newbie on the section. Please advice a brother in need.

I have Bsc in computer science and statistics as well as some certifications in IT. I also have a couple of years of experience in the field of IT.

At the moment i don't have a job and have been in search for months but have found none. Even the jobs i had secured previously has been contract job and as fellow Nigerians, i believe you know what it means. And inspite of my qualification, I have not been able to secure a job with more than 60k monthly in time past. It is not because I don't know the job nor am lazy nor I have not been hunting.

Out of desperation on my part and an advice from a friend and his financial help, I have been able to apply for US B1/B2 visa(tourist), with the sole aim of getting 'any' job in the US while, i run my masters program as a Part Time or whatever program to get my masters. Though I don't know how possible things can really go smoothly with that visa type I have applied for. The interview date is 21st of September, 2016. Though am aware that it is still subject to approval of the visa.

Please advice me, what are my chances of getting something doing with my visa type and schooling on a part time at the same time, say after one year of gathering something? Or what is the best ground to enter the USA as I don't even have any relative or friend there? Or is there any college you can recommend that offers 100℅ Msc in computer science tuition free + stipends if possible?

Seriously, I don't event know if am even asking the right question. Or even on the right track. Please just advice me

This is my mail incase there is something that should not be made public.

I once heard that Petroleum Engineers earn the highest in US, followed by Anasthetic Nurses..... Op is it true.?

How is the oil sector jobs in US, some of my friends that did geosciences here once there tend to switch to nursing, why? I wonder. What's the craze with nursing anyway.

Also heard that those in IT never look for job, as in the demand is crazy... Are all these true?

To obtain your license you must be a graduate of an accredited
U.S. dental hygiene program, then take the National Board Dental Hygiene
Examination and pass a state or regional clinical licensure exam....Salary Range: $50-55k per Year..Am a Dentist and have got Hygienists in my Practice so I know I what am talking about
what of a dentist? How can he be certified in America? Do i need to take TOEFL? Can a dentist from Nigeria major in oral and maxillofacial surgery there? How easy is it? Can i work in Nigeria to get that $200k 4 my studies there without student loans. Besides, i don't know anybody there.

to qualify for the loan, You must have written and Passed some professional exams and been accepted into a 2years International Dentist Program in an accredited University, its with the admission letter that you use in applying for the Loan! The PR or Citizen will act as a Co-signer. He/she maybe a Family member, Friend, cousin, relative etc getting the loan isn't as difficult as getting the Admission. They know you can always pay back the loan within 2-3yrs after your Grad so its really not an issue.
do u mean dat a foreign dental graduate has to write some professional exams b4 he'll be accepted into d 2-yr dental prog. How will he cope? Can he be allowed to do a menial job while sitting 4 those exams?

Pls do you have to go back to school for advance standing in a US university before you can apply for licence. Or is there another option for non US graduates
Do you have to apply for licence before doing any residency programme.
For dentistry pls

For those of you whose dreams are to work in America, Here is a list of some Courses to study in Nigerian Universities that will make you a top shot in America!!

Dentistry: Dentistry remains one of the best professions in the world in terms of Pay and Job Satisfaction and work
Flexibility!Dentistry or Dental Medicine is Specialty of Medicine! When you study Dentistry in Nigeria and you wish to come over to the states to make a living, You gonna spend about 2years to get licensed after which you begin to Print money like a Printing Press! General Dentist under employments earn over $250K per Annum working 4- 5 Days a week. While specialist Dentist like Oral Surgeons, Orthodontist, Endodontist under employment earn between $350k- $500k per Annum! Those with their own Private Clinics can make as much as $700k-$1.2M Per Annum! I know of a Nigerian Oral Surgeon with two Clinics in North Carolinas, he Grosses $10k Dollars PER DAY(Without Tax and other Expenses).....Ermmh I happen to be a Dentist too

(2) Medicine: this profession still remains one of the best positions in the world! Also in terms of Pay and Job Satisfaction! Compared to Dentistry, practicing Medicine in America after Graduating from a Nigerian University is easier because you don't have to go back to school here! After Graduating, you only need to pass the USMLE after which you get into a residency Program! BUT The CATCH most people don't know here is, Because your Medical Degree isn't from America, there are some limited specialties and Slots available to you! E.g Finishing from Nigeria. Geting a Residency in Let's say General Surgery, Ophthalmology,Anesthesiology,Plastic Surgery and other Competitive Specialties IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE! You are ONLY going to be limited to Physician Specialties like Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine,Psychiatry!! The Pay of these specialties ranges from $180k-$300k Per Annum!

Pharmacy:Imperative to the healthcare industry, pharmacists not only fill
prescriptions, but also educate patients on the potential side effects of
their medications, teach them how to handle side effects, and monitor
which prescriptions each patient is taking to prevent mixing incompatible
drugs. Annual Pay Ranges Between $150k-200k

Nurses: This is well known by all and Sundry! I personal know of Some Nigerian Nurses that earn $5k Per month! Nurses like the Nurse Anesthesia can make upto to $100k!

Information Technology: Computer science, Software engineers, Computer Engineers infact the IT Professionals! IT Professionals work software and hardware upgrades, protect office
networks from hackers and malwares. They make over $100k year Depending on your Qualifications etc! Many of my IT friends earn between 80k-100k

Radiography, Physiotherapy, Occupational Health: if you hard working you net $80k

Please where can one study occupational health? Must it be BSc?
