Wonderful.

God is indeed great. A big congratulations to you.

Canada awaits! smiley

@ilrbell2005

Hope you have done justice to the gap between 2007-date. Do state concisely why you want to pursue IT after getting a degree in Mathematics, and why that drove you towards getting your cisco CCNA cert. All this should address ur purpose of visit.

I see you have gotten those payslips. Cool

Please I will advise you calm down and defer unless you want to get your visa late. Even if it's the case, the Embassy may request you chose another start date which is about the same result after all.

So keep calm.

Good luck.

@chops33

Ok.

Like I said before, you may be convinced on what you want to do but convincing the V.O is the challenge.

Anyway bosses in the house can have things to add concerning the issue.

chops33: @ all the Veterans iN the house..
What's really wrong in going for a second bachelor's Degreehuh?
I just need clarity on this...thanks
Hey.

Nothing is wrong.

But put yourself in the shoes of someone whose job is to make sure he scrutinises someone's documents to determine if this person is going to be good and useful or a burden to his/her country, Canada.

A person going for a 2nd degree, there so many possibilities which I believe the V.O will consider:

A few in simple terms:

1. After spending 4 or 5 years pursuing a particular career, why a sudden change in career just for the program to be pursued in canada?

2. You already have a degree, why go for another one when you could as well just go for a masters or pg degree or even get a job?

3. I (The V.O) have seen cases of people applying for study permit, yet when they get to my country (Canada) they end up doing something else, become an illegal immigrant, thus becoming a liability?

If you get the gist, you will understand that a very good SOP can answer this questions, but the problem is how well?

So that's why people opt for the easier options.

I hope you get my point though am not a veteran.

Cheers

ilrbell2005: Thanks for the quick response.

I graduated 2005
I studied Mathematics .
I did Cisco CCNA 2009 (submitted the Learning Certificate)
I am going to study Information Technology Professional (PGD)
I work part-time for a small firm. I do not have pay slips as it's mostly on contract
No the agent didn't submit SOP.

Please help .How do you advise that I proceed.Should I defer my admission? Is the SOA okay? I intend to handle it now with the help of you guys.

Thank you
Hello.

Sorry for the delay. It's coming.

My little additions:

1. Even though you say your mum is your sponsor, no document you submitted proves she is. She could well be somebody else who is coincidentally your mum's namesake. So do supply birth certificates of both you and your mum. Also an affidavit of financial support and letter of sponsorship would suffice.

2. 2005 to 2014 is quite a long time not to show proof of employment. Try and get transaction docs of the contract you can lay you hands upon as Amefrica rightly stated. You can also supply your CV.

3. There's a format for SOP some few pages back, use it as a guide.

4. Pray

Cheers

Admission Letter (Humber (Lakeshore), Global Business Management. Winter 2015)
Intl Passport
Ordinary passport
Degree result (notification of result)
NYSC certificate
Birth certificate
Statement of account of sponsor (with abt 7m, gud inflow and outflow of cash),
Letter of sponsorship (Is there any format to d writing?)
ID card of sponsor
Investment certificate of sponsor
Sponsor (my brother, works in a bank)
Land documents of parent
SOP
Please advise on missing documents or things needed to work on. I know SOP is crucial. Thanks
Cool,

From my own view, if you can get your brother's birth certificate, it should put less pressure on your SOP. Make sure he makes it very clear on the letter of sponsorship his convictions for sponsoring your for the program and the eventual benefits back at home here when done.

Echo it in your SOP and fine tune it very well. Finally put it in God's Hands and am sure all will be well.

dondondee1: Good day house, please i just got admitted into uwo for january 2015, please i want to know if transferring money(tution +living expense) into my student account alone enough proof of funding, and can i withdraw money from the account on arrival. thanks
Hello.

Happy Sunday,

Sure you can, provided the money is sufficient to cover those expenses and you supply the necessary documents (printed student account details, receipts and a letter from the school confirming your payment) to show it.

However I'm not sure if you can withdraw from your student account. But I feel, provided you have cash more than your tuition then there should be a setup depending on your school to address such issue.

I will advice you contact the student account dept. of that school for more info about withdrawing.

jiggar: Hello my fellow Nairalanders, I greet you all. My brother applied for canadian study and work visa program last year, and this afternoon, he just got a message from the agency (southatlantictravels.com) handling the process here in Nigeria, that he should fill their form online, print and provide the print-out next week for an interview. He should also provide (N3,500), for the Canada Eligibility Assessment and Interview fee, payment will be made in their office. So, since we don't know much about all this stuff, I want to ask if the agency is genuine i.e southatlantictravels.com and if any more is required to process such applications? Thank you all, awaiting your responses.
Hey.

I can't vouch for the agent but I feel they are probably sending their routine package for new and aspiring applicants.

Did he get his visa?

Are his documents still with the agent?

Yello, please work on your supporting documents as advised.
Your SOP seems pretty much good to me.

Please, I'll advise you delete your SOP from your post. It's for your own good, to avoid the possibility of plagiarism.

Lord's Favour with your next application.

Thank man,
But am thinking of using a close family friend SOA, and using my moms landed properties along with it, but i dont want anything that could jeopardize my approval, and this seems to be my best shot
it will be difficult to convince the V.O that a family friend wants to sponsor you. Why would a family friend sponsor you, instead of his/her family member?

Like I said, difficult to prove. Look for alternative sponsors in my opinion.

The landed properties of your mom is however good to serve as one of your home tie docs.

I have a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and obtained a cgpa of 3.57. I have been strongly advised by agents not to make an application because of my low cgpa or to improve my chances i should take the IELTS Exam. Please I need your advice about this. Is the IELTS necessary for my application? Is my Cgpa too low to be Considered for graduate studies (Masters) in canada? Please i need a help, I have been denied admission at Carleton University and University of Manitoba.Thank You
Well.

One thing is for sure, your CGPA is not too low to apply for Masters in Canada.

Even though IELTS is waived by most Canadian schools as your WAEC Cert (provided you have at least C6 in English) will suffice, anything to boost your chance is not bad.

Also, fine tune your SOP and Pray.

vinci500: Hello guys, i must really commend you guys, you are doing a great job, you're a blessing to many!

Please i kinda need your help, in submitting a SOA, what are the allowed set of people that can be a sponsor, i mean is it just restricted to family members(dad, bro, uncle etc)or anyone can be use as a sponsor once the account is financially buoyant and you can prove they can sponsor you?

Really anticipating your reply, thanks!
Hey.

Anybody can sponsor you, as long as you can state convincing reasons for their sponsorship in the sponsor's letter and your SOP. That is why it's preferable to go for relatives, because it needs less convincing.

Who do you intend to use as a sponsor?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by ElCapt: 10:35am On Jul 30, 2014
lassky: Admission letter containing scholarship of8000CAD. Elder brother's supplementary sponsorship letter, his soa of 2 accounts one with the closing balance of about 1.4m d oda 1.1m, and his int'l passport. My International Passport and Passport photo. IMM form. Bachelor's Cert, Bachelor's Transcript, WAEC, Birth, LGA certificate. 2 Page SOP. Reasons for refusal are: you do not have financial fund available to pay tuition, maintain, and pay your flights without working in Canada. I'm not convinced u will leave Canada at the end of your study having considered your personal assets and financial status.
Hey

Sorry for your refusal delay #believe

My Ogas have said it all.

I will just like to add that if you have a student account on the school's website you can print the receipt or student account details just to reinforce your documents.
Or better yet, mail the school to send an additional letter addressing the embassy stating the necessary details of your scholarship.

If possible, you can tell your brother to 'gradually' transfer his fund in one account to the other before u re-fire just to have less documents showing more info. Less is More.

In your brother's letter of sponsor did he categorically state the amount he is going to release for you? It may sound so basic, but things happen.

Don't mind them, God is in control.

Hey

For advanced diploma in biotechnology, which school and what start date(s)?

If it's this fall, to get the visa processed on time before resumption is slim. Aside that, you already have a Bsc. so going for a diploma course will be hard tale to convince the V.O (not impossible).

So I guess either way, waiting on manitoba seems to be the way.
You can apply to 2 other schools just incase.

I'm sure more advice will come from others.

But I have decided to move on. Though I feel so weak right now, that's why I need your help. I need a university between 5-8k tuition per year. Computer science, Winter/ Spring Start would have applied to MUN but they don't have my course..... Please help me I have searched to no avail.. Help a sister
Hey.

Clearly somebody did copying/pasting, either you or somebody that got sent your SOP as 'sample' by that experienced fella. We may never know.

Avoid posting your SOP, on an online thread for all to see it can do more harm than good as it did for your case. Preferably, use guidelines (like the one Missbon posted a few pages back) and send it through PM to someone for review.

Moving on,

Be strong. You still have to do the research yourself ok?

www.aucc.ca is a good place to start.

A friend of mine was arrested in UK for using false documentation which he was granted bail from the police custody after His finger print, DNA and Photo capturing was taken, and then asked to come back for further investigation, but he jumped bail and came to Nigeria- This was as a result of the fear that he might be deported or jailed. Now that his in Nigeria, He his planning to visit America or Canada with genuine intention.

The question now is:

1. Can this past UK's criminal history of my friend affects his Canadian or American Visa Application?
2. Does Canadian or American embassy verifies one's past immigration record in UK (through biometrics or finger print)

Please kindly assist with suggestion and contribution on what to do...

hmmmmm..... A fugitive? Great guy!

1. Oh yes it can.
2. They have the capacity to do so, definitely they can too.

Well there is no harm in trying. My advice is wherever it's required of him to fill details of criminal history on the visa forms, he should do so in all honesty. If he holds anything back they can find out!

He should never have jumped bail mhen.

LyfeJennings: Can a good samaritan help me with this SOP please?
Bro.

Sorry again for the TRV delay.

My 2kobo,

This SOP is quite Ok if one takes his/her time to read it. But I can understand if the V.O wouldn't take such time to read it well. Here is why:

1. A significant chunk of the content is your Curriculum Vitae in Prose form.

2. The good stuff, unfortunately is sandwiched within the above point.

3. As a result in the 3rd paragraph of your SOP, you stated that you have a degree in Guidance and Counselling after revealing your desire in the business and management field since you were young in the 2nd paragraph. There is a disconnect, a disconnect which normally an SOP should connect.

Ideas

1. Try and remove all the content stating your qualifications. It seems redundant since you already have a CV.

2. Concentrate on convincing the V.O why you chose the course (like you started in the first paragraph), the loopholes (gaps, reason for change of course pursed etc.) and the eventual benefit of the program to your country. (You did justice a bit to this but, like I pointed out 'sandwiched')

3. Go straight to the point! It's not how long but how well you write it.

I believe in you Bro. Fire again! #believe

(These points are from my own point of view, I may be wrong o)
