@temidel Wonderful. God is indeed great. A big congratulations to you. Canada awaits! ![]() |
@ilrbell2005 Hope you have done justice to the gap between 2007-date. Do state concisely why you want to pursue IT after getting a degree in Mathematics, and why that drove you towards getting your cisco CCNA cert. All this should address ur purpose of visit. I see you have gotten those payslips. Cool Please I will advise you calm down and defer unless you want to get your visa late. Even if it's the case, the Embassy may request you chose another start date which is about the same result after all. So keep calm. Good luck. |
@chops33 Ok. Like I said before, you may be convinced on what you want to do but convincing the V.O is the challenge. Anyway bosses in the house can have things to add concerning the issue. Cheers |
chops33: Thanks for your reply..Uwc. None that I know of. Why aint you going for a PG or Masters? |
Lol. ^^^^ Didn't realise it was going to be that long. |
chops33: @ all the Veterans iN the house..Hey. Nothing is wrong. But put yourself in the shoes of someone whose job is to make sure he scrutinises someone's documents to determine if this person is going to be good and useful or a burden to his/her country, Canada. A person going for a 2nd degree, there so many possibilities which I believe the V.O will consider: A few in simple terms: 1. After spending 4 or 5 years pursuing a particular career, why a sudden change in career just for the program to be pursued in canada? 2. You already have a degree, why go for another one when you could as well just go for a masters or pg degree or even get a job? 3. I (The V.O) have seen cases of people applying for study permit, yet when they get to my country (Canada) they end up doing something else, become an illegal immigrant, thus becoming a liability? If you get the gist, you will understand that a very good SOP can answer this questions, but the problem is how well? So that's why people opt for the easier options. I hope you get my point though am not a veteran. Cheers |
amaacee: Hi Every1,Awww. Really sorry, does your program have a winter start date maybe you can differ it till then? List your documents so bosses in the house can review it for you When did you apply and what route? Delay isn't denial! #Believe |
oghos2k: Hi all, Need your final advice before I finally submit my applicationProvided your SOP is bam, I believe you are GTG. Good Luck |
ilrbell2005: Thanks for the quick response.Hello. Sorry for the delay. It's coming. My little additions: 1. Even though you say your mum is your sponsor, no document you submitted proves she is. She could well be somebody else who is coincidentally your mum's namesake. So do supply birth certificates of both you and your mum. Also an affidavit of financial support and letter of sponsorship would suffice. 2. 2005 to 2014 is quite a long time not to show proof of employment. Try and get transaction docs of the contract you can lay you hands upon as Amefrica rightly stated. You can also supply your CV. 3. There's a format for SOP some few pages back, use it as a guide. 4. Pray Cheers |
famolino: Happy sunday everyone. Planning to upload and submit my application dis week (online) and dis r the documents I have:Cool, From my own view, if you can get your brother's birth certificate, it should put less pressure on your SOP. Make sure he makes it very clear on the letter of sponsorship his convictions for sponsoring your for the program and the eventual benefits back at home here when done. Echo it in your SOP and fine tune it very well. Finally put it in God's Hands and am sure all will be well. #believe |
dondondee1: Thanks for the response, please i would also like to ask what are the medical tests one will take. thanksUwc. standard physical examination (eye..etc.), blood tests, urine tests, and X-Rays. |
dondondee1: Good day house, please i just got admitted into uwo for january 2015, please i want to know if transferring money(tution +living expense) into my student account alone enough proof of funding, and can i withdraw money from the account on arrival. thanksHello. Happy Sunday, Sure you can, provided the money is sufficient to cover those expenses and you supply the necessary documents (printed student account details, receipts and a letter from the school confirming your payment) to show it. However I'm not sure if you can withdraw from your student account. But I feel, provided you have cash more than your tuition then there should be a setup depending on your school to address such issue. I will advice you contact the student account dept. of that school for more info about withdrawing. Cheers |
jiggar: Hello my fellow Nairalanders, I greet you all. My brother applied for canadian study and work visa program last year, and this afternoon, he just got a message from the agency (southatlantictravels.com) handling the process here in Nigeria, that he should fill their form online, print and provide the print-out next week for an interview. He should also provide (N3,500), for the Canada Eligibility Assessment and Interview fee, payment will be made in their office. So, since we don't know much about all this stuff, I want to ask if the agency is genuine i.e southatlantictravels.com and if any more is required to process such applications? Thank you all, awaiting your responses.Hey. I can't vouch for the agent but I feel they are probably sending their routine package for new and aspiring applicants. Did he get his visa? Are his documents still with the agent? |
@Cufs Yello, please work on your supporting documents as advised. Your SOP seems pretty much good to me. Please, I'll advise you delete your SOP from your post. It's for your own good, to avoid the possibility of plagiarism. Lord's Favour with your next application. Cheers. |
parisbluefox: Yaaaaaay! I don chop medicals oooooo. God u re goodAwesome. Next stop Canada! |
vinci500: Thanks Elcapt,it will be difficult to convince the V.O that a family friend wants to sponsor you. Why would a family friend sponsor you, instead of his/her family member? Like I said, difficult to prove. Look for alternative sponsors in my opinion. The landed properties of your mom is however good to serve as one of your home tie docs. Cheers. |
fortunexx: Good day everyone. please help me out here. i am about to apply for Masters (M.Eng Coursework)in Civil Engineering to the university of Ottawa, University of windsor (May Session 2015) and then memorial university (Oil and Gas Engineering September 2015). I have a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and obtained a cgpa of 3.57. I have been strongly advised by agents not to make an application because of my low cgpa or to improve my chances i should take the IELTS Exam. Please I need your advice about this. Is the IELTS necessary for my application? Is my Cgpa too low to be Considered for graduate studies (Masters) in canada? Please i need a help, I have been denied admission at Carleton University and University of Manitoba.Thank YouWell. One thing is for sure, your CGPA is not too low to apply for Masters in Canada. Even though IELTS is waived by most Canadian schools as your WAEC Cert (provided you have at least C6 in English) will suffice, anything to boost your chance is not bad. Also, fine tune your SOP and Pray. #believe |
vinci500: Hello guys, i must really commend you guys, you are doing a great job, you're a blessing to many!Hey. Anybody can sponsor you, as long as you can state convincing reasons for their sponsorship in the sponsor's letter and your SOP. That is why it's preferable to go for relatives, because it needs less convincing. Who do you intend to use as a sponsor? |
lassky: Admission letter containing scholarship of8000CAD. Elder brother's supplementary sponsorship letter, his soa of 2 accounts one with the closing balance of about 1.4m d oda 1.1m, and his int'l passport. My International Passport and Passport photo. IMM form. Bachelor's Cert, Bachelor's Transcript, WAEC, Birth, LGA certificate. 2 Page SOP. Reasons for refusal are: you do not have financial fund available to pay tuition, maintain, and pay your flights without working in Canada. I'm not convinced u will leave Canada at the end of your study having considered your personal assets and financial status.Hey Sorry for your My Ogas have said it all. I will just like to add that if you have a student account on the school's website you can print the receipt or student account details just to reinforce your documents. Or better yet, mail the school to send an additional letter addressing the embassy stating the necessary details of your scholarship. If possible, you can tell your brother to 'gradually' transfer his fund in one account to the other before u re-fire just to have less documents showing more info. Less is More. In your brother's letter of sponsor did he categorically state the amount he is going to release for you? It may sound so basic, but things happen. Don't mind them, God is in control. Morning |
Morning. Happy Birtrvday to you Chatters. Enjoy. |
Asalyn: Hello guys...am a graduate of biochemistry with a second class upper, I av always wanted to a have Msc in pharmacy but I was told to forget it by an agent that I should go for sumtin related to my course which I did, I applied to uni of western Ontario but I was denied for dz fall intake, So I decided to try again wiv anoda skul, so I put in for medical microbiology against winter in Unimanitoba....dz is my ques, should I wait for manitoba decision which is in 6months tym because of supervisor availability or juz go wiv advance diploma in biotechnology?...ThanksHey For advanced diploma in biotechnology, which school and what start date(s)? If it's this fall, to get the visa processed on time before resumption is slim. Aside that, you already have a Bsc. so going for a diploma course will be hard tale to convince the V.O (not impossible). So I guess either way, waiting on manitoba seems to be the way. You can apply to 2 other schools just incase. I'm sure more advice will come from others. Cheers. |
lol. C'mon guys, lighten up a little. ![]() |
Slimdel: Let's leave canny or naija aside, anywhere you find yourself in life, your qualifications are just an additional bonus, what one can make out of it is what matters, some build mansions with just a coin and some can't even build a bungalow with millions. Your environment only comes in to determine whether you will shine through easy or hard way. If you have the potentials inside and can't find it no college, MSC, PGD, masters, PhD whatever can find it. Know what works for u and develop in it.Evening. She is clearly on point by actually capping the point. In the end it doesn't matter whether you choose to go to a college or university, what matters is what good you can make out of it. A nice conclusion for the long but informative "debate". This a thread to give and retrieve info, not a place for endless debates. Cheers. |

Ornaments: Good morning everyone, I applied to university of Regina 3weeks ago, all to receive a message that my personal statement or resume was plagiarised and as a result of that, my admission would not be granted. I was banned for 6month. Ever since, I have been weeping cos, I wrote the personal statement myself, I sent it to experienced people and they made necessary corrections. I feel so sad right now. But I have decided to move on. Though I feel so weak right now, that's why I need your help. I need a university between 5-8k tuition per year. Computer science, Winter/ Spring Start would have applied to MUN but they don't have my course..... Please help me I have searched to no avail.. Help a sisterHey. Clearly somebody did copying/pasting, either you or somebody that got sent your SOP as 'sample' by that experienced fella. We may never know. Avoid posting your SOP, on an online thread for all to see it can do more harm than good as it did for your case. Preferably, use guidelines (like the one Missbon posted a few pages back) and send it through PM to someone for review. Moving on, Be strong. You still have to do the research yourself ok? www.aucc.ca is a good place to start. Cheers. |
Amefrica: Thanks, captain!Uwc. Next available exit. lol. Fall entry, not decided when to go yet. |
Amefrica: Does anybody know if liquid soap is allowed while checking in?Yes If it's in you checked in luggage. No, if it's in your carry-on hand luggage. Wàpa. |
cronsberg: Hey guys, can anyone with experience guide me on how to seek for asylum in canada. I can source for the money to take me there, i plan to apply for a tourist visa that will sponsor myself(i hope the who is your sponsor question will not arise when i tell them am sponsoring myself). Plus am currently unemployed so how do i explain how i can afford the trip and that i can sustain myself. I plan on getting the money by selling a piece of land i own. Another thing is that i have been abroad before so my passport is not virgin(maybe that will assure them that i will come back ones my visa expires and not hide or something) plus i actually have a genuine reason to seek for asylum. So how do i go about it guys. Or if you have any suggestion of countries that are welcoming of asylum seekersMorning. Would you be so kind to tell us this reason? That may be of help. Cheers |
BadmanBoss: Unfortunately got denied todayHey. Sorry man, it's only a delay. Yes you can! There is still about 5 weeks left before September. But i'll advice you defer it till January if possible, to perfect your documents. Why not state what route, reasons for refusal, and documents submitted, so gurus in the house can review them for you? #Believe |
bjoseph: Pls House I need your view on this matter.Morning. hmmmmm..... A fugitive? Great guy! 1. Oh yes it can. 2. They have the capacity to do so, definitely they can too. Well there is no harm in trying. My advice is wherever it's required of him to fill details of criminal history on the visa forms, he should do so in all honesty. If he holds anything back they can find out! He should never have jumped bail mhen. Cheers |
LyfeJennings: Can a good samaritan help me with this SOP please?Bro. Sorry again for the TRV delay. My 2kobo, This SOP is quite Ok if one takes his/her time to read it. But I can understand if the V.O wouldn't take such time to read it well. Here is why: 1. A significant chunk of the content is your Curriculum Vitae in Prose form. 2. The good stuff, unfortunately is sandwiched within the above point. 3. As a result in the 3rd paragraph of your SOP, you stated that you have a degree in Guidance and Counselling after revealing your desire in the business and management field since you were young in the 2nd paragraph. There is a disconnect, a disconnect which normally an SOP should connect. Ideas 1. Try and remove all the content stating your qualifications. It seems redundant since you already have a CV. 2. Concentrate on convincing the V.O why you chose the course (like you started in the first paragraph), the loopholes (gaps, reason for change of course pursed etc.) and the eventual benefit of the program to your country. (You did justice a bit to this but, like I pointed out 'sandwiched') 3. Go straight to the point! It's not how long but how well you write it. I believe in you Bro. Fire again! #believe (These points are from my own point of view, I may be wrong o) Sleep Tyt ![]() |
LyfeJennings: Hi eryone. Was denied again for some flimsy reasons. I'm officially off Canada now. Good luck to everyone issued TRV. God bless. I'm outAwww, What flimsy Reasons? C'mon, remember one of the watchwords of this thread "Delay ain't denial! " #Believe |
