Hi Pals. So I have received my GCMS file exactly 1 month and I did not see any concrete reason the VO denied me. Though I have already re-applied, I believe the docs I submitted will address the issues raised in the report. My only fear in my second app is the mistake I made by thinking NO when I was supposed to thick YES and state reasons for refused in my first app. Though I stated my UCI number. Anyways, see the reason I was denied below. E no just make sense. Tnuola....Team12 and Co. I need ur prayers oo...Finally no matter what happens, it's in God's hands now.
It is well.

I see you flying down here soon!

bukky1989: Hi everyone,
I'm still kind of new to this forum. Trying to process my Canadian study permit, I've gotten some document but kind of stuck with the landed property. I don't know what part of document to scan for the landed properties because my parent didn't do C/o of the land they have. Is it possible I scan the agreement they used in buying the land? Please is very urgent to me. Thanks
Hey.

I hope you still find this info useful.

Sure you can scan the agreement. Don't worry if there isn't a C/o.

You should scan the survey plan though just to backup the authenticity of the agreement document.

pchax: Good morning!

Going through www.gic.gc.ca, I noticed it takes 21 weeks for a student visa application to be processed in Lagos.

Please tell me it is a typo? I thought it is all online so why that long? shocked
Hey.

Study Visa Applications from Nigeria are processed at CIC Accra, Ghana as of now. It was 5 weeks but it's 9 weeks (as of July 22nd) which is probably due to the subsequent increase in the amount of application processed.

deehusby60: Good day everyone, I'm only 30 minutes new on this fine and reputable trend, I have been following your comments, you guys are out of this world, so brilliant. I have a few questions, to be honest, I've no idea about TRV applications or whatsoever, I got on here sometimes ago and saw some useful infos. I applied for TRV on the 4th July 2014 through VFS Lagos, I had a conference based on energy in Alberta invitation letter, I'm also a presenting author (my abstract was accepted) I paid for the conference through paypal, I made a hotel bookings, Lufthansa flight reservation, My marriage certificate, letter from my church since I work in the Church; in the letter from the pastor, they will fund my hotel bookings and furnish me with 750USD since I'm only going for a week, My GTB bank ACC statement running good for 6 months but with =N= 630,000 final balance as at in July. My rent agreement and receipt showing my rent still run through till ending of 2015. cars particulars, wedding pictures, letter of recommendation from my Dean where I graduated from, letter of purpose, and so on. My concern here is that, I made a mistakes on my family information forms due to my hasting up at that point, I filled em up well but sign and dated where i believe I should not have signed and dated, would that be considered as a simple mistake or have I blew my chances. (2) the conference is in Oct, and my application is stretching to the second month, do I just contact them or should I wait more? Thank you as you advice me on this issues ....
Wait.

Hello.

You have applied... right?

Personally the fact that your younger one is in canada, its better you use(d) your mum's account provided you add(ed) documents to show your mum's source of income.

Also you submit(ted) Land Docs., Study leave letter, your employment docs (payslips, employment letter, SOA etc.), and maybe a strong SOP. All address your Purpose of Visit and Home ties and employment situation with which you should be good (to go). No negatives if you #believe

nnannaidoko: Pls I am planning to apply for a masters program in microbiology and immunology or biology at mcgill for fall 2015. I have a B.Sc in microbiology with a first class in Nigeria. But I am really having a problem with finding a potential supervisor, which is a major requirement for admission. I have contacted many profs from both departments without any luck and I am getting really frustrated. Pls I need urgent answers from pple in dis forum.
Hey.

Mcgill is a top school in Canada and am quite surprised you haven't gotten a supervisor considering you have a first class.
Probably it has something to do with your research interests and theirs?

Try and spread you tentacles. Check with two or more schools that offer those courses.

Or is there a particular reason why you are only choosing McGill?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by ElCapt: 1:14am On Aug 18, 2014
Interesting.

>>>> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/students/evaluation.asp

This is culled from the main chunk of the assessing tools used by canadian visa officers around the world.

"....In assessing the adequacy of a student's financial resources, officers may 'exercise discretion' in the documentation they request from applicants. In situations where student applicants generally pose a very low risk regarding funds, officers may choose to limit or waive routine requirements for documentary evidence."

"...Conversely, in some very high-risk environments, requiring and systematically verifying substantial history of funds and supplementary individual or 'family financial' and employment documentation may be necessary to ensure that only genuine students capable of supporting their program of studies are accorded study permits. "

In as much as some documents are pretty standard for a certain purpose, remember the country you are applying from, and the experience these VOs must have gained from reviewing the good, bad or ugly applications.

So I feel, use what you have (with brain) to get what you want. Canadian visa application is not like an examination with preset answers.

I gained a thing or two from y'all.

Gnyt!

diremi12: Thanks for the response @elcapt and @bolded, you know Nigerian banks are theses days. We'll as par documents from father's investment I'm a director aboard his oil and gas business and a very active one along side my studies. I'll post some pics on here for a few minutes before I take them down. I have 2 houses of my own too, is it okay to include their documents too? To be honest I'm not interested in the conference too much, I ready want to widen my horizon and diversify my business after college. Thank you
Sure.

Although those investment docs will only prove useful if you intend using you dad as sponsor meaning you have to provide his SOA too.

You are still a student, self sponsorship can complicate your visa app.

Trying the school sponsorship thingy and lets see.

What school is best for me, how much will it cost me say from flight, tuition fee etc. And can I be working in Canada? Please help a brother .what process should I start first.thanks
Hey.

There is no fixed amount for flight and tuition, but maintenance is around 10k CAD. You will have to narrow down the schools based on your course.

>>>> www.aucc.ca is a good place to start.

Yes, you can work part time while studying and full time when on holidays.

diremi12: Good morning forum, I'm a 500 level student of agriculture in a Nigerian university, I plan to go to canada for a conference sometime on October . Here's the break down, I co-authored an abstract with my lecturer and it was accepted for presentation at the conference. We've both made payments for the conference and have a lot of supporting papers from the school. As for him he doesn't need much papers as he has a valid 4yrs US visa on his passport and he's been to the USA 3 times without eloping, but on my part I have a letter of introduction from my college, he invitation letter, school transcript and all other documents , but my question to the forum is, my father is supposed to be my sponsor and show proof of funds with his statement of account but he's current out of town and can't get me the statement but he did sent me 700k for the conference and I have about 400k of my own personal cash in the account. Is it okay to present my statement of account with an account balance of about 1.2m? Pls someone should help me ASAP I plan to go to the vfs office with my don today. Thanks
Pls note that my university VC is willing to send an email on our behalf to the high commissioner, as they are good friends too.
Morning.

Considering @bolded and the fact that you are still a student, why don't you explain your situation to your lecturer maybe he can help you get your school's statement of account and the letter of sponsorship from your VC instead of the email.

They can act as your sponsor although you will be sponsoring your self. I have been in a similar situation before and that's exactly what I did.

It's just to make the whole thing easy for you.

No harm in trying smiley

Cheers.

Lordopsy4jc: Hello thanks to all ... I really do appreciate your response.

@Emperoracro: I have actually fulfilled all required documentation to the School including school
official transcript,I was specifically told this is a condition given after offer of admission.

@Aflyingbird: The copy of Degree certificate was uploading as part of the documentation, but I was told
until the school sends and official copy of the degree cert or personal presentation before the
condition could be meet, well the two options seems to be impossible as you my school will never give
a second copy of the degree cert and I never know about chances of apply with conditional admission

@ELcap: actually I have a trail email close to what you have adviced above, where it is stated that
I should show my Degree in person in montreal.

Guyz just wanna be sure of what to do in other not to waste my time.
Cool.

Even better. Go ahead and use @bolded.

No need to worry, people have gotten TRV with conditional offer as yours.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by ElCapt:
Lordopsy4jc: Hello house and well done to everyone. Please I need your advice on this situation of Conditional offer of admission, Like is it ever advisable to
apply with a Conditional offer.. The actual situation is kinda dilemma for me, the condition by the Concordia Uni is that they want to see Original
copy of Degree Certificate, either sent directly from School or presented in person after getting to Montreal... Please has anyone been face with this kind of situation before.... I will appreciate your kind recommendation.
Hello.

Since there is an option to present your certificate in person, I'd advise to go for that.

One thing I learnt from this thread that you can also do, is to mail the graduate administrator (that you are usually in contact with) stating your intention to submit Your degree certificate in person, clearly referring to the condition and the given options to fulfill it. Print this email as well as the eventually reply from the administrator acknowledging your decision.

Include it with your admission documents for visa app. and I believe you are GTG.

Cheers

PrinceMario: Good day house. pls i need an urgent reply.
i have both WAEC and GCE(WAEC) result. my waec grades are all C's with two distinctions in irrelevant subjects while the GCE result is okay with six distinctions. i actually disregarded the waec gce result and making use of the internal waec .
Now planning to write SAT and apply to an american/canadian uni. but when i checked the grade requirement of these schools i realised my waec didnt meet up with it but gce(waec) met the requirement.
my question is,do american and canadian uni. recognise GCE result? and been that they would be requiring my high school transcript as an international student, how do i explain the difference in the school name of the secondary school transcript and that on the WACE GCE result.
please haos...i need a reply asap.
Hey.

You have to contact each school you intend applying to. They are in a better position to give you institution specific pre-requisites based on your enquiry.

But I feel you can go ahead and use your G.C.E and Sec. Schl Transcripts provided it's in your name.
