Yes. I am going for thesis based and I know it will be a miracle if I am accepted. I look forward to the miracle anyway but have other alternatives. Might not even accept the UBC offer finally, if all my options say yes, Which am praying for and also praying that I also don't make the wrong choice finally. I only pray God make it easy for me by giving one worth standing ovation while others might just be clap. It is well and will end with praises.

I applied to UBC mainly bcus the application was free,Memorial and Western were my main options, Masters of thesis in Comp Sci,

A bit competitive ke? Bros, replace the "Bit" with "Very". They accept about 10% of applicants i.e. 20 out of 200, with international students having just about 4-5 spaces out of the twenty. Recent statistics also show that there are more international applicants than domestic. So, international applicants have acceptance rate of probably 5%.

Except your meet all admission requirement perfectly with very strong GPA (95-100%), fantastic Statement of research intent, and or you have publications. You may want to consider other schools down the hierarchical ladder - please, UofToronto is not included. However, Na humans dey go there too not angels. So, you and I too can. Lets just have alternative(s).

Thank, but roughly how much should my sponsor have in his account?. He based in Australia, would he be accepted as my sponsor if he secures my visa?. I am thinking that he won't be accepted as a sponsor because he is nt in Nigeria.

It depends on ur tuition fees, your sponsor must have atleast your first year full fees + 10,000 cad, his located does nt matter,he can b ur sponsor.

So if ur 1year tuition is 8,880, ur sponsor must have 8880+10000= 18880cad

I hope UBC is nt the only school you submitted ur application, cuz d sch admission is a bit competitive, u might want to v a backup, except if u v an extremely good result.

No english test required... just a letter from your school saying your undergraduate course was done in English.

Have you been offered admission??, if yess how long did it take.

before you are granted visa you must proof to the embassy that you have sufficient cash to cover your first year in school and extra 10, 000 cad living expenses, If you cant, u wont be granted visa and also you cant work off campus until after 6months of your stay, so the feasibility of you raising that amount is uncertain. I will advice you to get a sponsor with good financial statement and willingness to help to support you for your first semester, especially to help you secure visa.

If you are Nigerian or studied in Nigeria, you do not need toefl or ielts to gain admission into memorial, Although some schools in canada needs them but Memorial and many other schools dont.
