Hello guys,

Please is it too early to apply for Fall 2019 visa now.I have the admission letter and necessary documentation ready.

Is not too early, but I will suggest since you have alot of time, carefully do necessary research and package ur app well. No need to rush with so much time at hand. Once u feel u are 100% ready submit it.

Hello knowledgeable seniors.

Will the officers at the POE be satisfied if carry around 1,000CAD as physical cash, considering that I'm being fully funded by the University?

I have additional funds in bank account here in Ghana which I intend to accesa via atm once I reach Canada. I have already contacted the bank and confirmed that I can use the atm in Canada.

Yes, just show them proof in your admission letter that you are fully sponsored if they ask.

Saw this and would like to confirm how true it is because i have a dual passport and have once applied for U.S visa on one of my passport and was denied 5 years ago. I didn't declare the denial in my Canadian visa form because i am applying with my second passport.. should i be worried? Genuine Opinions and criticism willl he appreciated

You have no reason to worried about something you cant change. Just be Positive and wait for the the good news.

Who told you that everyone that wants to go to Canada is doing so for the sake of "hustling"? Fallacy of hasty and ignorant generalisation. It's fine that you want to come back to develop your country. That is what you want to do, allow other forum members do what they want to do without making them feel like they are doing something wrong. Lots of people will rather live in a country like Canada with clean air, peaceful environment, constant power supply, sane political system to the reasons you pointed out for wanting to return to Nigeria. I know lots of people here who have gotten well paying jobs in Canada. Live and let live. Don't choke us with your own ideas.

Your response is uncallled for, it is just a vain confrontation. To my way of thinking, the man only gave his candid opinion, which is not wrong. If you have something else to say, you can always post that differently...

And you said he generalised, if he did, then you probably did the same too by trying to speak for everyone, cuz I dont feel choked by his post the way you do...

Please, Please and Please. we are here to help one another and we are very dynamic beings, so we cant feel the same way abt stuffs. My dear brothers and sister, lets try to avoid vain confrontation like dis, expecially when the case is past and forgotten....

Thank You

Admission Status: Decision made.... In Memorial University, Newfoundland

I havent been contacted yet how can i know the Decision if its Accepted or Rejected, please i need help cos am considering applying to British Columbia which will end soon and i havent forwarded my transcript yet, i just want to get more info about Memorial University before i go ahead with that.

Thanks

Memorial has a very crappy admission procedure, You might have to mail the department or the school to know the decision they made. If not, you might have to wait for abt 2 months before they send the hardcopy of their decision to you...

Hey Guys.... Please i need an urgent response for anyone who has knowledge of what i'm about to ask.

I have to send notarized copies of certificate to a body. And i really do not know what that means, and where i can get it done here in Lagos.

They said, only notarized copies would be accepted.

Pls i anticipate a response. Thank you.

Just go to a court and visit the registry office. I did mine for just 200naira per copy. Ensure you go with a photocopy of those documents, preferably a coloured photocopy...

hmmmmm. to my own understanding sir. a PR standing as sponsor for you will put a red flag on your application because from what i heard is that when you have a PR as sponsor, the vo will think you might be influence by him or her not to come back to your home country.
You might want to ask the gurus in the house like @folaroyal, Michv and yemmdogg.

I disagree with you, alot of pple v used PR n got deir TRV, just ensure u are able to prove ur home ties effectively....

His colleague transferred the money from his account... The account name bears the name of the colleague and not my sponsor and secondly the receipt is written in German... I hope these won't raise a red flag @michv @folaroyal @osemigho @mikymiko @justwise
Thank y'all

I dont tink so, you cud also explain to them, d same way u did on this thread and maybe put an evidence to back dis up( maybe an email comversation btw ur sponsor and d guy dt paid)

Thats your best option, u have a very high chance of getting ur TRV if u apply alone, cuz dt will be your home ties. Applying with them is too risky

Hello house, I want to apply for student permit but my wife think I want to leave them and run cry, however, I now intend applying for everybody. That makes a family of 5.school is ETS,montreal. I studied architecture. Going for masters in engr.project mgt.
My doc include:
Letter of introduction frm bank where I work
Letter of introduction on my company letterhead. I have a registered company
My CAC docs
Tax clearance
Pension statement 2m
Payslip
Employment letter of bank I work
Study leave letter from bank
Work/bank ID card
SOP and LOE to explain I will be the only one traveling but I need them to give my family access to me for the duration of my study, maybe a visitor 's visa.
Letter of authorisation from wife that I'm goin for studies, and that she will hold fort the business, she's a director on the CAC.
Investment cert of $20k
I intend paying tuition for atleast first year
SOA with average inflow and outflows because of previous transactions. Bal of 1.5m tho
Survey plan of a land
Valuation report of apartment I bought, this should be around 8/10m, and the deed of assignment
Marriage cert
Kids birth cert

House, kindly vet.

This is not a good step atall in my opinion, u risk rejection based on home ties. It is better you do urs first, then immediately after you get yours you can submit theirs...

And i also dont tink ur wife will have any problem applying for visiting visa anytime she feels like seeing you. I dont see the need to complicate your application.

Stating to the VO dt your wife and children will be in Nigeria while you are studying will make them believe that you plan to come back and take them as good home ties, bt u will complicate ur application by requesting for sometin else for them at this time. Canny wont steal u away from ur wife.

I have a frnd presently in canny, and the sister gets visiting visa easily to go and see him, how much more ur wife and children...

Play safe
Good luck

Okay.

For the transcript, I called the lady that processed it for me when I visited the school, she said I should call back on Monday, I pray she send me a copy.

I will just declare two of my siblings.

Please has anyone succeeded in using Form A since the new policy review?

Hello, just has u have been advice. i will really encourage you to declare all you siblings, it will go along way to help them in the future, not declaring them now means alot. I dont also tink nt submitting their ID or PASSPORT will have any negative effect on your application and since they are not ur dependant, u really v no justifiable reason to hide them.

Hello House,

Please i need a clarification as to the mistake which has been the order of the day. It has kept me in a confused state in which made me to seek your assistance in clarifying this issue.

I applied for a visa lottery in 2013 to Canada through Jonathan King Ltd in 2013, I did not submit anything then only my passport number was written on the form. I did not do any biometrics nor submit my docs like certificates, police report etc. and in fact, have never applied through the online application nor the paper route before. Therefore, in answering the question on if a visa have been refused before, then what should i put (YES/NO). Although, it was a provincial lottery then.

Thanks. You response will be appreciated as not to make *mistakes*

Your answer should be No, Visa Lottery is a diff tin entirely

Which school is that...... free radical?
I have a Masters degree in Biochemistry(Toxicology) option and been trying to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry but all the supervisors are tight. I guess with my grade (although I don't have strong 2/1 at BSc and my Msc is 71%, I don't mind going for another Masters by research.... Won't this affect me in getting a study permit as I have a Masters degree before

What program MSc or PhD are you going for.

Can you please link me to the school and department peradventure I may opt for molecular biology as the prof of Toxicology that ask me to apply at usask later told me that there is no space...... Well I don't understand the meaning of that.....

I need your assistance please.

This is my opinion on this.....

1. Although PHD will make ur travel easier, bt if u will get ur travel by God's grace wit Msc

2. PHD positions are competitive in most schs and their requirements are most times higher than 80%, even if u manage to get a supervisor, u might stil b rejected..

3. Msc sud be ur best option and since u dont v a strong 2.1, u might need to be looking at some schs dt are not very competitive to guarantee ur admission. TBH from wat v seen both on dis thread, in gradcafe and pple personal testimony, ur chances of getting PHD position with 71% without several good publications, is very slim.

4. However, I believe in divine intervention, bt ensure u check d minimum CGPA requirements of each school before applying...

Best of luck

Well, I'm only just an admission seeker but have followed this thread for a while. When u get to d visa application stage a PhD will sell better than another msc but that doesn't mean u can't get your TRV with a well packaged application for masters, good sop where u clearly explain to the visa officer why u r going for another masters and not a PhD.
For mine, I started out by googling schools in Canada that offer masters with funding (thesis) in biochemistry (which is my undergraduate course). I came up with McGill, UBC and Toronto. Applied to all three in December and I've started getting feedback from the grad coordinators except Toronto. It's been so difficult securing a positive feedback from supervisors. I dunno if they have prejudice against we Africans. Don't want to dwell on that anyway. I'm still shooting out mails. It's tough work because I have to tailor each mail to suit each faculty member based on their research area. I'm interested in oncology, gene expression and cell biology in that order.

So my advice is just take Ur time and do research online. The schools I applied to I later got to know from guys in this forum that my chances r slim as the competition there is very stiff. So u may want to look for schools at the middle of the ranking cos they might be easier. Write the faculty members of these schools first as you r a PhD applicant. Write a compelling mail to them and share your past works, papers that are related to their field and wait for their feedback. You can always apply when you have secured a supervisor.

All the best fellow eminent!

PS.... UBC doesn't offer biochemistry alone but combine it with Molecular biology. Some schools too are like that. So don't let it put u off its still very much d same as both field are quite interrelated.

Good one sir/ma, bt I tink with his profile, it might be a little difficult for him to get a PHD admission, 71% is a bit low, for PHD placement most sch use as high as 85-95%

Good evening house, I am a bit worried after receiving this mail from the school i applied to. I applied for MENG in mechanical engineering, university of Saskatchewan. Please house from experience how do i go about tackling this.

"Your application has been carefully reviewed by faculty members in your research area. They have considered not only the degree program for which you applied, but all programs for which you are eligible. Unfortunately, since no faculty members have indicated a willingness to accept you as a graduate student, we cannot admit you. If you are successful in identifying a faculty member who is interested in supervising your graduate program, we can reactivate your file
Please note that applicants cannot be admitted to any graduate program unless a faculty member is willing to supervise them and offer them a place in their research group. Even if an applicant meets all of the admission requirements, this is no guarantee that they will be admitted, since admission is contingent on finding a supervisor. Admission to our program is very competitive: we receive about 150 applications per year, yet our 19 faculty members have openings for only about 20 new students each year".

We would like to sincerely thank you for your interest in our department, and wish you well in your future career.

Regards.

Graduate Admissions
Department of Mechanical Engineering
University of Saskatchewan

My bro/sis contrary to other opinion, I tink dis is technically a rejection, your files and the file of other applicant have already bin displayed to all supervisors, which is the custom of most faculty in UofS. The Profs v already picked deir students and attempting to get a supervisor now, will b for another entry...

If you read the message carefully u will understand dis, abt 150students applied and d Profs had to pick 20, which had already bin done...

My advice is dt you apply to some other schs dt stil v dier admission open or start preparing to apply to UofS for another entry..

Try University of Regina

Is just my interpretation from the little knowledge I have of the sch and my analysis of the message sent to you..

Good day People,
Please i need to know if its possible to be issued a visa to study for my ACCA in Canada? what are the chances of getting visa?

You chances depends on this simple question..

ACCA can be done from any part of the world, why Canada?? Why do u want to spend so much to travel for something that can be done and will be of almost the same quality irrespective of where you did it.

If you ask me, I tink your chances are extremely slim.

UBC aspirants (Earlier today I made the below quoted post)

For everyone waiting on UBC I want to inform you that some (if not all) of their programs have also extended their deadlines, but it's not updated on the departmental website yet.

You can verify through the following link if your program is affected: https://www.grad.ubc.ca/prospective-students/application-admission/application-deadlines

for example, the deadline for Comuter science has been shifted from December 15 2016 to February 19 2017

I want to upload a screenshot of their notice but I'm not certain how to upload images here.

Here is the quote from the UBC website:

In light of recent events, many programs are willing to extend their application deadlines. Please inquire with individual programs if late applications will be accepted.

I'm not certain yet what are the "recent events", but you can see my speculation on my previous post.

This applies to Bsc Programs Only, I mailed the Faculty to comfirm....
