Gooday all members and visitors of this great blog, i want to personally address the 2016/2017 Direct Entry students based on the current JAMB Admission posting saga ongoing. Few Weeks ago we made an update where we informed all that JAMB has taken charge of admission by posting qualified students to their various school of choice, Later on we also brought an information to all that the JAMB Admission posting is not the real admission list, that candidates will need to attend their various school screening exercise before being fully admitted. Since all these past weeks my phone number havent been at rest from students especially Direct Entry Students, Most of them called asking so many questions ranging from: When will JAMB Begin Admission Posting For Direct Entry Students? Will JAMB Truly Post Direct Entry Students? How Will This Year Direct Entry Admission Be Like? My Name Is Not Yet Being Posted By JAMB Whats Wrong? After Purchasing My JAMB Direct Entry Form What Next Should I Do? I Tried Checking If I Have Been Posted By JAMB But Get This Response "Cant Find Table1" e.t.c Well today am here to clarify you guys on all this issue, just continue reading below: UTME Students Can Read This: Updated: Reasons Why Your Name Haven't Been Posted By JAMB Yet For Admission Consideration [2016/2017] ABOUT JAMB 2016/2017 ADMISSION POSTING For the fact that JAMB Began posting students doesnt mean that Direct Entry Students are included in the new admission policy, All Direct Entry students should note that for now that UTME Students are the one currently affected by the admission posting. As far as am concerned JAMB Never mentioned or make provision for admission posting for Direct Entry Students. Direct Entry students are expected to buy the Official JAMB DE Form and after processing their registration, you are expected to wait for your school of choice to announce their admission screening exercise for Direct Entry students. Dont be suprised that your school might have started selling their DE Screening admission forms without you being aware, because you are busy wasting your time waiting to be posted by JAMB which is not possible because posting is only for UTME Students. The reasons why most of the Direct Entry Students keep getting this response "Cant Find Table 1" its because Your Reg numbers are so different, and most of them were acquired in different years and not yet compiled or grouped by JAMB For posting even if its going to happen. Am advicing all Direct entry to always check their respective school website to be updated when their DE Admission screening form is out, as of now this post is made many schools have already started sales of DE Screening forms alongside their UTME Forms, that why we recommend you visit our admission checking page to be update when a school DE/UTME Form is out. In Conclusion: All I Have to say to all DE Students that they should forget the JAMB Admission posting because DE Students are not involved in the new Posting policy, even though you guys are involved later you will be informed, but for now focus on preparing for your school admission screening exercise and not running helter-skelter seeking for numbers to call, this might lead you ending up in the hand of admission defrauders!!! Let us just wait till after July, 29th When UTME Admission posting is expected to end and see the next action of JAMB. We are using this medium to inform all students who are seeking admission this year or already gotten admission either through JAMB Posting or through confirmation from the school portal that there are documents which are expected of them to bring along to their various schools for further screening after the scrapping of UTME. Though most schools might not request for all these documents needed below but majority of them do request for it and as a matter of fact any student who is quite ready to be admitted ought to provide the below documents before his or or screening schedule approaches. Below Are The Top 6 Documents Required For Screening In Each Tertiary Institutions Birth Certificate First School Leaving Certificate Testimonials Letter of Identification from Local Government JAMB Result Slip O’level Results You are also free to drop more documents required by your school for screening if its not mentioned above!!! We are not trying to discourage some people from hoping to be posted to their various schools for admission consideration, for those who have not been posted yet especially those who scored high in utme. Am not saying you should lose hope yet, anything can still happen. Am saying based on the hard copy schools have at the moment and also based on what happened last year during eligibility saga. Those who were initially not eligible but hoping to be eligible by miracle were never eligible if not that it was later cancelled though miracle may happen this time, so I suggest you may keep checking for your name in Jamb website until its finally confirmed that no names will be uploaded again. Speaking based on the hard copy some schools have, those whose their names are not found in the Jamb website are also not listed in the hard copy when checked. So I dont know how possible it will be if your name is later uploaded in the Jamb website but not among the names in the hard copy unless schools will still receive more names from Jamb. http://www.elitesplanetblog.com/2016/07/jamb-begins-posting-names-of-students.htmlCheck your name in Jamb website, if you are not posted yet, you keep checking, you may be posted later. Some Of The Reasons Why Your Name May Not Have Been Posted To Your School For Admission Consideration: 1. LOW UTME SCORE: Maybe your score is too low for the course you are aspiring for. Someone who scored 201 and aspiring for home science may be posted but someone who scored 248 and aspiring for medicine may not be posted. This is because home science is likely to cut below 201 while medicine will never cut below 248, so Jamb has assumed that someone with 201 is supposed to get admission under home science without screening yet. Remember that if your name is posted, it means you have been "Temporarily" offered admission by Jamb, meaning you scored above what Jamb is likely to cut for that course if they were to admit you alone but school is yet to screen you to know if actually you are qualified even when you scored above "assumed" cutoff mark. Meanwhile, there are some courses that even when you scored above likely "assumed" cutoff mark, you will still not be posted, sometimes you will be posted even when you scored below but the posting is mainly based on your score and your course because ALL SCHOOLS may have sent their cutoff marks to Jamb but you wont know. 2.CHANGE OF INSTITUTIONS: This may not really be the problem because there are some who did not change school yet they are not posted yet but some people I know that have not been posted even when they scored high in Jamb did change of school (about 2 people so far). The only names that may be posted later in the Jamb website may be special candidates. All of you know what I mean by special candidates; they may be people with some errors in their registration numbers or error in change of school, they may be people that are sorting out their admission via staff/university quota/slot through a staff, they may be people that know someone in the university..this is Nigeria so everything is possible. It happened last year when some people who were not eligible later became eligible even before everything was cancelled. I know how it was done then and it will still be done this time. Some of you know me very well, I say what I see and what happens, I dont pretend to be self-made saint. ADVICE So if you are not posted yet, dont lose hope yet, be prayerful, it may still touch Jamb to upload more names and your name may be there. You can still be posted through other means maybe through miracles or maybe if you are sorting out your admission. Dont just lose hope or give up until its over. If worse turns to worst, you may be posted to another university; all univeristies are good, it must not be your school of choice. Its not the school you attend or course you read that makes you, its your destiny. Please Share With Others!!! Source: http://www.elitesplanetblog.com/2016/07/reasons-why-your-name-havent-been.html |

Seems the Minister of Education order is likely to prevail among all institutions who have already collected money from their candidates for the 2016/2017 Post-UTME Exam, Despite the warning of the Federal Government on the ban of POST-UTME. UNIBEN is not left out as the institution also asked students to pay some certain amount of money for the admission screening exercise as advertised in their screening adverts. While logging in to the UNIBEN Students portal, a notification of the refund of students fees has been posted, see the image above with the below inscription. UNIVERSITY OF BENIN 2016/2017 ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE THE EXERCISE HAS BEEN CANCELLED IN LINE WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVES, WE REGRET ALL INCONVENIENCES. ALL CANDIDATES THAT SUCCESSFULLY PAID FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE ARE REQUESTED TO GO BACK TO THEIR APPLICATION RECORDS AND ENTER THEIR BANK DETAILS........... THANK YOU. We therefore urge all prospective students who have registered to log in back to the university portal and provide their various bank details for a refund. We Want To Be Independent, We Dont Need The Minister Of Education Order Concerning Admission Process-State Universities Vice-Chancellors Association Tells Minister Of Education. The Association of Vice-Chancellors of State-Owned Universities has asked the federal government to allow the senates of their institutions prescribe the modalities for admission. The Secretary General of the association, Michael Faborede, stated this at the 4th Biennial Conference on the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-Owned Universities in Nigeria held at the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The theme of the conference is “Current Challenges Facing State Universities in Nigeria and the Way Forward.” The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, recently announced the scrapping of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UMTE). Mr. Faborede argued that since education was on the concurrent list in the 1999 Constitution, the federal government should be careful in making pronouncements on educational matters that would affect the states and private universities. “The issue of post UTME is also very hot now. We have emphasised to the minister, the right of each university senate to prescribe the modality for admissions and also that education matters that will affect the state and private universities,” he said. The secretary-general called on pro-chancellors to support vice-chancellors in this effort in the interest of a credible university system. Mr. Faborede said the association would in October hold a higher education summit to enable it chart a way forward for the nation’s higher education system. He said the outcome of the biennial conference would be important in the effort to bring all view points on board. Mr. Faborede called on all state governors to use the Nigeria Governors Forum to ensure the maintenance of standard of state universities and how the could benefit maximally from the Tertiary Education Tax Fund. “We believe that the Governor’s Forum is very crucial to ensuring the maintenance of standard of state Universities, and how they benefit maximally from the Tertiary Education Tax Fund,” he said. Earlier in his welcome address, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education, Olufemi Bamiro, said “a cursory examination of the goings-on in the tertiary education system of this country attests to the crying need for a conference of this nature to articulate the challenges facing the system and move to the solution domain by coming up with evidence-based policies and programmes to move the system forward.” He added, “The present situation in the country dictates that we go beyond political correctness into imbibing the traditional academic culture of telling it as it is. It cannot be otherwise if this conference is to be worth the effort of all gathered here.” Source: http://www.elitesplanetblog.com/2016/06/we-demand-to-handle-admission-without.html#ixzz4CzoL085n |

No fewer than one million candidates who applied for admissions into the universities with awaiting results may be denied admissions as many of the institutions have fixed dates to commence screening of prospective applicants for the 2016/2017 academic session. Saturday Sun investigations revealed that over one million candidates currently in secondary schools that wrote the 2017 Universities Matriculation Tertiary Examination (UTME) did so as awaiting result candidates, which has been the practice. In the May/June2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), 1,552,772 million candidates registered for the school exam while over 1,200,000 million candidates also registered for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO) The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is currently marking the answer scripts of candidates that wrote the May/June 2017 WASSCE and would release the results in August while the SSCE conducted by NECO is on going nationwide and would be concluded July ending. Some of the universities have placed adverts inviting prospective candidates for the screening exercise for the 2016/2017 academic session starting this month even as WAEC is yet to release the May/June 2017 WASSCE result, while other candidates are currently writing the SSCE (NECO), which would be released either in September or October. In some of the advertisements for the screening text, the universities stated that applicants for admissions are to come with original UTME result, WAEC or NECO result, birth certificates, scratch card, local government area and state of origin certificates, testimonial of schools attended, police and medical reports. The implication is that many of the prospective candidates seeking admission with awaiting results may miss the opportunity unless the Federal Government wades into the issue. The fear of parents and schools is that some of the institutions would have concluded the screening exercise before WAEC and NECO release the results. The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) in its advert inviting applicants’ admission it reads: “Only candidates who have five credits at one or two sittings (including English Language and Mathematics) are eligible to apply. Candidates awaiting results may, however, be considered for the 2016/2017 admissions exercise.’’ Source: Sun Newspaper.
