Fatalveli: Is that a Polish school? If it is,why can't you go for Polish language course for 6 months ? It's cheaper and gives you shorter time to migrate to Germany easily. |

Mercy95: I guess you're in category A huh? Cancel it and rebook when your documents are ready. Category A applicants don't have problems with getting AD. |

Fatalveli: Don't rejoice yet. Without tourists, category B applicants' quota for visa appointments is still few, what do you think would happen when tourists are allowed to book for appointments again? The consulate might not be willing to increase their work force for now,to accommodate more applicants for interviews,in order to avoid the spread of COVID-19. To me,this isn't a positive news for category B applicants. |

shawnmich: For you to be eligible to apply via Cotonou, you must have their resident permit and it must be at least 6 months from the day it was issued. You made a mistake during your booking. You should have shifted your start date to September or October. If your school starts this month,it means your interview invitation mail should have come in March and your interview in April,if you were to be given an appointment. If you're in category B,it won't be possible for you to get interview mail and be interviewed in the same month of May. If at all you're interviewed this month, what of the 4-8 weeks of processing your visa? You should be in Germany before your start date(except last year that corona virus interrupted that) These are the things you have to consider before booking. That's why they stated categorically that once your start date comes closer, you should forget about being invited for any interview and cancel your booking appointment. From experience, mails for interview dates for category B applicants are received from the end of July and all through August (NB:this time frame might change for the better and i don't know when) for winter semester. If i were you,i'd cancel immediately, rebook and use October/early November as start date. Start online for the time being. |

daambassador: Bro,you can incorporate them. You just need to think critically and find the short right words that would drive home your points. If at all the VO isn't satisfied with what you've written,he or she might ask you to elaborate further on the interview day. The foreign office in Germany isn't really interested in your motivation letter,as their judgement largely depends on the submission of the VO. 1 Like |

daambassador: You're really funny. Why can't you ask others who had successful visa interviews to tell you how they wrote theirs? It's even made simple for you,no too much stories. One to three sentences should summarize your main points. If they increase it to 8 A4 pages,i hope you won't complain? 5 Likes |

ExchangA: If it's category A,the "soon" is possible. But,if it's category B,you can get an appointment but it would take some months. They even stated it on the category B booking page like "during the long waiting period for category B applicants.........". |

OdogwuEkeke: I dey here nwanne, anything for your guy? I think I have to do this to calm the tension here down. Yes,the German consulate do give dates to category B applicants. I got date the last time. The interview mail came on 15th February,2021 and my interview was to hold on 12th March,2021.If you doubt me,i will show you the mail. Before you criticise or judge me on why i didn't share it here, please, hear my story. I really wanted to share it here but i wanted to have my sponsorship letter before i'd do that. For the past one month and some weeks,i've been devasted emotionally and psychologically because at the dying minutes my sponsor disappointed me,therefore my silence here. I had to cancel my appointment to give room for others who are on the queue. You know how hard it's to get an appointment under category B.I've been on this journey since May 2019.After series of admission rejections and now this. Look at how it works-if you want to get a date under category B,book "earliest" of early and shift your start date far to April/October. I saw a post of a guy who booked on 2nd April under category B and used June as start date. Yes,he booked early, but, his start date might cost him an appointment date. This means the mail for his interview date should should be received in the same April and his interview should be in May. Based on experience and testimonies of successful category B applicants, mails for exact interview dates drop around January/February for summer semester and July/August for winter semester. The German Consulate no dey do ojoro. It's first come first serve.Where I want them to improve is on increasing category B quota as i also advocated for more appointment dates for category B applicants on this platform some weeks back. Have patience, don't rush to cancel your appointment. If you booked early and you were not given admission, please cancel, don't be wicked. If the appointment land wetin u go carry am do? Then,if you got date and couldn't honour it due to one thing or the other, please cancel too, just like i did.Don't be cruel, because many category B applicants are on the waiting list. I hope this helps to settle unnecessary arguments. Using other legal routes for visa is also okay,as long as you can afford it. This time around,by God's grace i'd upload the appointment date mail once it lands. Don't give up. I wish you all the best. See you in Germany. 5 Likes |

There should even be more slots for visa appointments for category B applicants, since they're not issuing shengen visas for now for tourism, seminars, trade fair, short time business visits etc. But,na the same story. 1 Like |

MartOkoh1: I don't even understand your own. Who's giving pessimistic replies and discouraging people from making their choices? Did you read my previous comments well? Stop writing off point on where my comments are headed. My stand is clear and i maintained it in my first and second comments. This matter of leaving people with their choices, isn't it in tandem with what i told the guy you're supporting? You should have addressed it to him and not me because he was the one i told to leave people with their choices. Scroll and show me where i told people to do like this or like that. The bone of contention here is that this guy you're supporting abuses and insults people when they disagree with the option he's given them. Please, try to understand the context of an argument before jumping into it. Kai!!!Nawaaaaa for some people ooo!!! 1 Like |

MartOkoh1: You didn't know where this issue started. Even if people are giving out wrong or incomplete information, must they be abused? What are "idiots","rubbish" and "useless people" doing in his comment? Respect people's opinions,it's simple. Please, don't add fuel to this already rekindled fire. If you feel it's wrong, you can address them maturely without any verbal attack. Those that want to follow the German embassy's instructions are 100% right because the information is obtained from their site. Those that didn't follow the instructions and booked in the wrong category and succeeded are also right in the sense that it worked for them. But,it's a 50-50 game. Waka pass and leave everyone to his/her choice. 3 Likes 1 Share |

daambassador: His previous account was banned because of this attitude of verbal abuse, attack and threats. He signed in with another account to continue his ministry. I've really checked,he's still this kind of a small boy who hasn't really known that this world is a small village. I don't understand why people get attacked for not agreeing with his opinion. I don't understand the sin of someone who uploaded the requirements of German embassy directly from their site, stating categorically that category A is for Phd,scholarship and 1st class holders-after January 1st 2018(beginning from 21st March 2021,it would be reduced to only 1st class graduates after 1st January 2019). Ok,he didn't graduate with 1st class, he booked in category A and has gotten his visa, glory to God. Some people might follow his pattern and be lucky as well while some might regret it. He's not the first person who's booked in the wrong category and it turned out positive. But,he should allow people who want to strictly follow the instructions of the German embassy in booking at the right categories to rest? Let them be with their choices and accord them that respect. It doesn't call for abuses and threats. I don't know why he's filled with rage because someone doesn't want to go along with his opinion or suggestion. Take a new leaf boy, otherwise this kind of life might land you into irrecoverable troubles. You don't know who is who here. Some people can track you down with everything within them to make sure you're really dealt with when you provoke them, particularly, when they were not really the ones that attacked you first. Some people know the school, the course/department and the city you're going to in Germany. Stop exposing yourself to unnecessary dangers. Once again, note that this world is a small village. You can go ahead and insult me as usual, but know that i've built the immune to such juvinile deliquency. Thank you. 1 Like |
