igbofocus:Obviously you do because you just typed 13 words in the same thread. |
Trina0936:Wow. If it's true then I'd advice the guy to consider taking a trip to the lagoon. The disgrace is not something that can be cleaned off in the next 10 generations of his. |
I don't believe this story though. How did the girl get the guy's account details ![]() |
Just like some guys would think that because they spent on a date for a girl, so automatically they get the password for her to open her legs. If you want to pay for a prostitute, you should ask your mates where they sleep with them. I blame girls who are so cheap. |
dmltoyin:I'm surprised that you don't recognize that guy's moniker from the various insults he dishes to Yoruba people on this forum. He is better ignored. He's a rabid dog. |
Damilare5882:You should know that the guy isn't Yoruba. Real Yorubas who live in Lagos respect Ibadan as the political capital of the Yorubas, while real Yorubas living in Ibadan respect Lagos as the economic capital of the Yorubas. |
kevoh:Abi o. ![]() I don't know when high cost of living now translates as a high quality standard of living. Only shows that there are more poor and hungry people in Lagos, after all we all share the same Nigerian economy. |
I just smile when I see little kids running up and down on the internet _naked. Most of those commenting have never been to Ibadan before but they think they can throw shades at the place. Smh. Why don't you take a trip to Ibadan and be honest with it. For a city that boasts of soo many firsts in Nigeria and also boasts of the title of largest city in Africa, South of the Sahara, I think Ibadan is doing quite well for itself. There's this popular saying most indomie children won't know, "God may work in Lagos, but He lives in Ibadan". |
Ngokafor:Please read my post again. I didn't say there aren't people from other ethnic groups who bear English names. One of my uncles started giving his children English names because he liked them. It was when he proposed to name his last born MacLeans, that a family meeting was called on his head. Lol.All I'm saying is that Igbos more than others do this and it might be impacting negatively on their language and maybe culture. |
Chidizman:#smiles* I will be the bigger person and ignore your insult. For those who don't have many Igbo acquaintances, go on Facebook and type in the search bar English names such as Henry, Linda, Francisca, Judith etc and come back here with your findings. ![]() |
mccoy47:My dear I am Catholic and I am an architect, so I meet lots of Igbos and I have them as acquaintances OK, so I know what I'm talking about. As a matter of fact, thinking about it now, I only know these Igbo acquaintances' English names ONLY. I don't now their Igbo first name. You say they are nit Igbos, I can put their surnames here but it doesn't matter does it because in your heart If hearts even you know I'm telling the truth. I'm not saying this to ridicule you guys, I'm only stating what I've observed. |
castel428:Thank you brother and I appreciate your honesty and frankness. You have my respect this morning. Once a problem is identified, the solution is right beside it. African languages and cultures are beautiful. They must not die off. |
AZeD1:Yeah, you're right too. It has a lot to do with religion as well. But an underlying inferiority complex makes us think the white man's religion is superior. In recent times there has been an upsurge in Yoruba aborisha worship and knowledge of it. Even online here on Nairaland. More people want to know, and haven known are fascinated. It is good, I think. |
Ngokafor:Look, I'm not saying this as a slight against the Igbo people. Far from it. It's just a cold and objective observation from me. I'm Catholic and I have a lot of Igbo acquaintances. So I know what I'm talking about. The Yorubas that bear English surnames are very much in the minority and it's something that was inherited during the colonial era. Have you ever seen a Yoruba person do a change of surname to English in the dailies in Nigeria ever? You are right that the black man generally has a complex to the white man and I think I alluded to that in my former post. Only good governance and self reliance instead of reliance on the west for our growth will change this perception of the black man. |
anigbajumo:Your moniker sounds Yoruboid. Yorubas have a saying, omo t'o ba t'ile ire jade kii rin l'oru. You seem to justify crime. I can only hope you're not yourself a yahoo guy. No matter of justification can erase the fact that it is wrong. Oun ti o dara, ko loruko meji. Ko dara. What is bad is bad. Those guys I see in the pictures don't look hungry to me. Are you saying they don't have families? Whole I was in the university I stayed in the hostel with an orphan names Chris, we used to call him pastor Chris. He would always scout round the town for new construction sites where he could work as an unskilled laborer carrying cement and sand. It was money from this that he used to to sponsor himself through the university as well as cater for his younger brother's needs who was about to write WAEC at the time. |
I'm sorry to say but the demise of that language is only just a matter of time. I don't hate Igbo or anything but those who know, know that that is just the simple truth. I've noticed that Igbos have an inordinate amount of inferiority complex to the white man. Hence they revere more than other Nigerians things associated with the white man. A case in point. I've hardly met an Igbo person who proudly bore his/her native name. Almost all of them bear English names as their first name proudly and insist to be identified with that name only. I've dated an Igbo girl who sniffed at my native Yoruba name that I bear quite proudly and kept reinforcing her English name in the same sentence asking me If it wasn't beautiful and that If we got married we'd name our kids beautiful sounding English names. I just smiled to myself smh Really hard for her. |
beardlessdude:Oyedepo? Isn't that the winner's guy? Lol. They are all the same. Feeding off the fat of their gullible, zombieish and moronic followers. Here let me help you a bit: http://saharareporters.com/2014/10/16/bishop-oyedepo-banned-entering-uk-over-church-corruption |
LeSaint:So true. I saw the entire video myself. If I was in that church that day, I'd have walked out. It was so plain and obvious the woman just wanted the mess cleared from her and her daughter, not that she believed the apostle. |
Initially I was just against the fake apostle. Then I saw her videos on YouTube and I also saw Suleman's video on YouTube where he was pretending to forgive her and her mother and I couldn't help but to start rooting for Otobo. Funny enough in one of her videos she acknowledged her wrong in sleeping with a married man. She shouldn't relent until this fake "man of god " is fully exposed. Though I'm not sure it will make any difference as his church members are already devoid of brains and worship him. |
botad:The last time she provided pictures you guys said it was Photoshop. ![]() |
anigbajumo:In fact I wouldn't mind If they are given death sentence sef. Na when you commot for Naija before you know the serious harm these bastards are doing to you as an individual. I have had people snigger at me when I told them I am Nigerian. Just imagine this scenario. You and your pals are out for drinks in the evening, most of them white, and suddenly conversation changes as one tries to make the group laugh by narrating some internet scam he came across and ends up with "those Nigerian scammers "... they all laugh then remember there's a Nigerian with them ![]() #UncomfortableSilence ![]() And me feeling |
Lots of university graduates may not be able to write as much as she even did. At least we see them here on Nairaland, and I'm not talking about that adaskbullet guy.(that one's a known troll) Now I see why our certificates are practically worthless outside the continent. I'd like to throw shades at Uniport this morning but I'll leave it at that. |
Talk2Bella:Is this supposed to be an excuse? ![]() |
poshestmina:I'm glad you're OK now I hope. It's nice to heart of stories of people who beat depression. Kudos |
chrisav:He instituted the suit, he can always withdraw the suit If he wanted but greed and stupidity dey worry am. |
You mean after the pastor had forgiven them? Maybe I don't know the meaning of forgiveness again. Meanwhile, pastor yi fe te. He whom the gods want to behead, they first run mad. This pastor is running mad gradually. |
I just went to check out the video on the original site. I am fabulously wowed!!! Respect to the Indians. They actually took the cobra to an animal care facility. Nigerians no dey try at all. Even wild animals sef dey regret say dem born dem for Naija. ![]() |
okhiai1:Is this Lalasticlala's pre-wedding pictures? Awwwwnnnnn... |
GeeGuy:Who is this one? You just register for Nairaland? |
LAUTECH is the headquarters of yahoo guys. Hope they are sentenced to life imprisonment. |
Idiot is trying so hard to stay relevant. She doesn't know that in Nigeria, "one week, one trouble". Her own time to shine has passed. Apostle Suleman's own time too has passed. Dino Meliar's own just passed. Na Saraki dey reign now. Let her face her broken life herself we are not interested in the tidbit coming from her angle unless something Really new and fascinating pops up...like shooting her ex. |

I'll take Ibadan over Lagos any day any time!
