jauntty: I would suggest u go to a good eye clinic where they can do a test to confirm if U really have Dry eye using Schimers test or Tears Break up Time (TBUT). That Chloramphenicol eye drop is not likely to help with dry eye. What U will require are "Artificial tears" or "Tears supplements" such as HypoTears, Tear Naturale (Alcon product) or Ivymoicell. Also, try and avoid things or conditions that exposes your eye to dryness.

itching, sandy sensation and pain. no tearing and discharge.
