occam: Even in $ value the Nigerian stock market has grown tremendously. In 2022 it was valued at $50b (based on the subsidized and corrupted rate of 450)
Today the value is $90b based on market driven rate of 1,350. More investors have confidence in the Nigerian market and buying up the stock.
You guys are sleeping on the Nigerian market due to hatred for Tinubu. Foreign investors see a dynamic market with huge upside growth and putting their money in it The ironic thing is, right there on your profile, you had a different view about similar economic outlook when PDP was in power. https://www.nairaland.com/1259448/nigeria-strong-economic-growth-littleEverything is politics to you guys. |

Nonsense talk. Structure of corruption and evil cabals is what we need as a country? A rational country would pick a leader based on what they need and not any rubbish structure. Peter Obi is popular enough that almost everybody in the country knows him. What does a super popular politician need alignment for in a sensible country? Saying a popular politician stands no chance, just condemns the country to be one without direction nor even enough sentience in the individuals to make reasonable decisions without having to be steered like absolute sheep. |

Politics › Re: Aso Rock To Disconnect From National Grid In March – Permnent Secretary by Elxandre(m): 10:48am On Feb 12 |
hotseat: This is preposterous, to say the least.
If the FGN on whose shoulders lies the responsibility of providing electricity for Nigerians is disconnecting from the national grid, so what happens to the hapless masses?
However, one must admit that the privatization of the electricity sector in 2013 by the PDP administration under GEJ is fiasco.
Instead of meeting the expectations of Nigerians, it made matters worse.
The then PDP government told a highly expectant nation that by unbundling the government owned PHCN, a magic wand had been found.
Alas, Nigerians were taken for a ride as they went about selling to their friends and cronies who neither had the financial capacity nor the technical know-how to run the electricity sector.
Since then till date, the sector has continued to move from bad to worse.
Like the NNPCL, the more financial resources pumped into it, the more epileptic its services become - like a bottomless pit of financial waste.
The FGN may have finally come to the realization that the privatization scheme is a scam and has decided to disconnect itself from the national grid.
The states must now emulate the Abia State model in order to finding a lasting solution to the electricity sector which has continued to prove intractable.
@hotseat The bodies that have not been privatized, what is their fate today? Are they any better? They privatized electricity but refused to let it be distributed by power generating companies. Power generated has to be returned to the national grid before centralized distribution. This is a major place where issues often occurs too with terrible distribution infrastructure. |

Bossman: One thing that's not mentioned though is that, for full functionality, productivity and integration an apple watch paired with an Iphone/IOS device gives the best experience. Hence, an Apple watch needs to be paired with an Iphone to be fully functional. The apple watch with IOS integration is just so seamless. One example, About a week ago, I got to the store and I realized I did not have my wallet with me when it was time to pull out my credit card to pay. I just double-tapped my watch and placed it near the scanner to pay with my credit card linked to the watch and that was it. Not sure if an Oraimo watch linked to my Iphone would have given me the same functionality. In Nigeria? |

ChristoBam: You think he's not a good man manager? I don't think there's any evidence of that. The level of indiscipline in the squad required the level of ruthlessness we saw from him.
You see, one thing I've learnt to do after seeing all the mess in the club over the years is to judge certain characteristics based on what I saw before they signed. I think Amorim is a really good man manager and has probably even relied on that more that anything else all through his coaching career. I think that's the reason he's shocked as to how things are unfolding. Players are not responding the way they should.
Do you look at Amorim and think he's not doing a good job, motivating these lots? Lmao. Let's be serious here. But they all go to the pitch and do whatever they want.
There's something seriously wrong with the club. The culture that makes some of our players e.g Mainoo, Amad, become shadow of themselves when they realize 'you have to fight for your place for now', 'you have to play at a different position '. They drop tools after little adversity. Same with the fools we just shipped out.
I could go on and on but what's the point. Sacking the manager will always be the 'exciting' thing to do. I know you people are looking closely for the next player to scapegoat. Una just never see yet. 😂 Someone has depleted the squad of bench options Una say na culture. Why are we the only ones using excuse of culture? Also he's definitely not a good man manager. You guys think being a good man manager is freezing everybody out but It's ensuring things don't even get to that level. Under Ferguson and even Ole, we had plenty competition in the squad, and hardly did anyone make any noise. You guys will understand when injuries kick in this season. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Elxandre(m): 1:41am On Aug 29, 2025 |
The problem is always the coaches. I'll tell you why. For some reason we are an idealistic club. We're either trying to play the "united way" or trying to stick to a coach for so long so he becomes the new Ferguson. This club is not "killing" coaches, we just make bad decisions either with appointments or with letting go at the right time. Mourinho is Mourinho and always bleeps up his 3rd season, so how is that our fault? Where has Mou not scattered in his 3rd season with toxicity? Madrid didn't waste time fooling themselves but simply got another coach when it became too toxic. They didn't sell all their squad to simply satisfy him. Ole did well and has been our best coach. We elevated him with the opportunity we gave to him, till we made a mistake and signed Ronaldo. People call him amateur, but he kept things simple and got us the most positivity post Alex. I think he might have become the new Sir Alex if we gave him time. I think he's the only one that has deserved a chance. Bottomline, we did him good and not actually tank his career, as he hadn't done anything special before United to suggest we "killed" him. Ragnick. Well uneventful. philosophy coaches annoy me. Ten hag is a great coach but a terrible recruiter. Give him a solid 11 and he'd probably do well. He actually destroyed us with his terrible signings from Eredivisie. I guess this is where we could take the blame, cos I know Madrid isn't signing an Anthony for 80m. Tenhag killed himself with his stupid waste of money which we still suffer from. I'm sure he has learnt that Leverkusen won't let him waste their money like we did foolishly. Amorim is an actually terrible coach. He's the only clearly terrible coach we've had. A coach that fights the whole team and can't ever change formation is an obviously clueless buffoon. You guys are really saying na we kill coach that brings in 2 defenders when trying to win a game? What coach plays Bruno and Casemiro in a midfield 2? Is it the fans that made that happen? Did we force him to play Mount ahead of two strikers? Now the coming shocker that will destroy this season is the lack of depth. We have no single LW asides Cunha, guess who has frozen everybody out? Amorim! Now he will start to cry when attacking players inevitably get injured because of being overplayed. Which big club doesn't have options on the bench? we've sold Garnacho now for peanuts, and this is a player who was serviceable at least! Bottomline is, we have been unfortunate enough to sign wrong coaches and also, we have bad management who can't decide when to get rid of coaches at the right time. All these talks of "culture", "rebuild" blablabla are just nonsense. Fire and hire like Chelsea till you get it right! Enough of trying to find the next Fergie! |
