Average rent was around $200-$500 In the 80s now its $1700-$2500.

Petrol is not $5 per litre. It's calculated per gallon which is nearly 4 litres.

1985 minimum wage was 125 naira.
125/0.2 = 625 litres.
70000/1000 =70 litres.

A lot of cities in the UK have good public transport systems, and to pay for them, they pay something called council tax, which last i checked was somewhere around the region of 200 pounds per month, if not more. London's own is scary.

Look at Lagos. On top of having the highest tax revenue in nigeria, and oil allocation, it has taken them 14 years to complete two out of a proposed seven metro lines. 14 years.

If Lagos charged every Lagosian the equivalent of 200 pounds per month, they would have finished it immediately. But it would have led to cries of 'we are poor; so....

If we wanted to give every Nigerian capital a metro like Lagos, it would probably eat most of our budget. Where are we going to pay for the other things.

Back to the UK, the scary thing is their metro is not free. If you are under a certain age, you get a discount....but on other hand.

Combustion engine is on the last stage of it peak. No world billionaires will build a mega refinary at this time as they consider future and long time projects.

In the next 20-30 years combustion engine will likely phase out in developed world. In places like China recharge cars, scooter, truck and bike has already taking over.

In Nigeria for example we don't buy new cars, instead we buy used cars from develop world. What this means is whatever they use is what we buy

If they complete stop combustion engine and move to electric it only means on the next 5 to 10 years those cars will end up here. So there is no future in oil.

Dangote should think about making engine oil and other products in other to recoup money wasted on that refinary on time.
And it has reduced their use of crude oil.

Most cars Nigerians buy are maybe 2015 models max. In fact, we're still using 2003 corolla, just to tell you that we will still have an influx of plenty petrol cars for the next 30 years sef.
At the end of the day, petrol cars will be phased out sha and he'll probably have made his profits.

You basically kept 10m naira with a Nigerian stranger.

Hmmm. I recently bought Honda Civic 2008 and it consumes about 14/15 litres from Abuja to Lafia (200km) and I've been feeling it's consuming excess fuel. I even scanned due to check engine on the dashboard and it's showing bad catalytic converter. Please any one using same car should let me know if the consumption is ok.

As far as I'm concerned anyone using i10 thinking of CNG is better off in a tricycle. However if you insist on a car... i10... 19.5 ×580 NNPCL price gives 11,310 Naira. For me and rational individuals that is more than sufficient. CNG is not needed, why convert an i10 at over a million naira? When you cannot finish a 500k fuel in two years? Use yer money for better thing.

However if you have a landcruiser, armada, sequoia, and other extraordinary gas guzzlers then you can talk about it being beneficial.

What do you think now with fuel at over 1k?

But have you considered that Nigeria is one of the top 10 countries with natural gas reserves? Also Europeans/Americans wouldn't sweat too much to buy petrol at $1/ litre.

What you people don't realize is, unless subsidy returns or dollar gets pegged, fuel will get to 2k.
CNG will still be cheaper than this as it doesn't need elaborate refining like petrol.

I don't think that person was wrong to ask about your user review. When more people use it and give their first hand reviews, more will be encouraged to adopt it. There's a lot of misconceptions and fear about cng that might be dispelled or minimized with user reviews.

Really considering buying a v6 vehicle and sticking CNG in it but my friends are so skeptical. 😂

CNG powered vehicles I have known since the 90s when I did an IT on a shell oil production field, it's what one of the police van that works for them used. If the technology has been around for so long and it is not promoted by the car manufacturing companies, it can only mean it is not as viable as it looks on paper. As for the cng easily dispersing and not likely going to cause explosion, what if the vehicle is parked in a closed confined space where the gas concentration can build up? What if the source of the leakage happens close to an ignition source? This is where education and regulation need to come in.

The conversion cost is too high and not cost effective for low-medium users. E.g for someone that is consuming about 50k worth of fuel in month, it will take more than 2yrs to cover the the conversion cost.
It only makes sense to the heavy users like travellers, commercial transporters or someone who just bought a new car that will be used for 4 or more years.

You can't consume only 50k fuel monthly with present prices. You'll definitely use more.

The MDX is the clear favorite.
As far as fuel being 1k/ltr is not a problem, you should get it already.
