Because doubling the cost of liquefied gas products won't cause riot anywhere in the world.

This is always my problem with the Russian allies with the former Soviet Union. You have the cause of your problem; "High cost of LGP" , but instead of addressing that, here they are trying to blame America for it.

It even happened here in Nigeria, new year 2012. Mass strike and protest across the country. If security operatives were sent to subdue the people, riot would have been the result. Or was it America that caused that too.

Address your problem or kill your people. It's all good

Technology Market / Apple Becomes First Company To Hit $3 Trillion Market Value by emae009(m): 5:37pm On Jan 04, 2022
Apple Inc (AAPL) on Monday became the first company to hit a $3 trillion stock market value, before ending the day a hair below that milestone, as investors bet the iPhone maker will keep launching best-selling products as it explores new markets such as automated cars and virtual reality.

On the first day of trading in 2022, the Silicon Valley company's shares hit an intraday record high of $182.88, putting Apple's market value just above $3 trillion. The stock ended the session up 2.5% at $182.01, with Apple's market capitalization at $2.99 trillion.

The world's most valuable company reached the milestone as investors bet that consumers will continue to shell out top dollar for iPhones, MacBooks and services such as Apple TV and Apple Music.

"It's a fantastic accomplishment and certainly worthy to be celebrated," said Jake Dollarhide, chief executive officer of Longbow Asset Management in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "It just shows you how far Apple has come, and how dominant it is seen as in the majority of investors' eyes.

Apple shared the $2 trillion market value club with Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O), which is now worth about $2.5 trillion. Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O), Amazon.com Inc and Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) have market values above $1 trillion. Saudi Arabian Oil Co (2222.SE) is valued at about $1.9 trillion, according to Refinitiv.

"The market is rewarding companies that have strong fundamentals and balance sheets, and the companies that are hitting these sort of huge market caps have proven they are strong businesses and not speculation,” said Scott Wren, senior global market strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute.

Apple's shares have climbed around 5,800% since co-founder and former chief executive Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone in January 2007, far outpacing the S&P 500's (.SPX) gain of about 230% during the same period.

Under Tim Cook, who in 2011 became chief executive following Jobs' death, Apple has sharply increased its revenue from services like video streaming and music. That helped Apple reduce its reliance on the iPhone to about 52% of total revenue in fiscal 2021 from over 60% in 2018, pleasing investors worried the company relied too much on its top-selling product.

Still, some investors worry Apple is hitting the limits of how much it can expand its user base and how much cash it can squeeze from each user, with no guarantees that future product categories will prove as lucrative as the iPhone.

The rapid embrace of technologies such as 5G, virtual reality and artificial intelligence has also increased the allure of Apple and other Big Tech companies.

In China, the world's largest smartphone market, Apple continued to lead for the second straight month, beating rivals such as Vivo and Xiaomi, recent data from CounterPoint Research showed.

With Tesla now the world's most valuable automaker as Wall Street bets heavily on electric cars, many investors expect Apple to launch its own vehicle within the next few years.

"The icing on the cake, which may turn out to be the cake, is the potential for an EV car," Rhys Williams, chief strategist at Spouting Rock Asset Management said.

Just as Apple's market capitalization hits the $3 trillion milestone, its share price as a percentage of the Nasdaq 100 index's (.NDX) value is bumping up against a key technical level. In recent prior times, the stock price has risen above such a level and then subsequently declined.

Crime / Re: Youths Lynch 2 Scrap Collectors For Beating Young Man To Death In Akwa Ibom by emae009(m): 4:00pm On Jan 04, 2022
Ilaumoh:
Meanwhile Akwa ibom just ban scarb scavenger ..

GOVERNMENT OF AKWA IBOM STATE

BAN ON SCRAP SCAVENGERS IN AKWA IBOM STATE AND ENFORCEMENT OF EXISTING BAN ON THE USE OF MOTOR CYCLES WITHIN UYO METROPOLIS:

1. BAN ON SCRAP SCAVENGERS

The Government of Akwa Ibom State has, with immediate effect, banned the activities of scrap scavengers in the State. This follows several incidents of grave infractions including acts of criminality and threat to peaceful inter-ethnic relationship in the state by operators of this enterprise. The action of Government is also in consonance with public sentiments amidst popular complaints against the activities of these scavengers who wantonly violate peoples properties, stealing and assaulting law abiding citizens in the process.

Recall that sometime in 2021, multiple explosions, causing fatalities, were recorded in Oruk Anam Local Government Area in the course of scavengers sorting out what turned out to be military brand explosives. About four lives were lost in this incident. Similarly, on 2nd Jan, 2022 scavengers violated the premises of a citizen in Afaha Oku, Uyo Local Government Area in an attempt to cart away properties. While attempting to prevent the scavengers, the citizen was callously murdered in cold blood while mob action was visited on the scavenger assailants causing the death of the two scavengers. Sundays appear to be the busiest day for these scavengers who take advantage of mass Church attendance to invade homes and cart away valuables leaving hapless citizens with tales of woe upon their return from Church.

As a responsible Government, we can no longer tolerate the activities of this industry which evidently is in no way adding value to the socio economic well being of the state but rather escalating tensions and threatening the overall peace and security of the State. Accordingly, the operations of scrap scavengers in the State is banned forthwith. Violators of this ban will be apprehended and dealt with according to the law.

2. BAN ON MOTOR CYCLE OPERATION WITHIN UYO METROPOLIS AND ENVIRONS.

Government has observed with dismay and serious concern the flagrant defiance of the ban on Motor Cycle operations within Uyo metropolis and environs. This ban order is hereby reiterated with a warning that defaulters stand to lose not only their Motor Cycles, if apprehended, but also risk being prosecuted and possibly sentenced.

Security Agencies and the general public are therefore put on notice. An enforcement structure has been put in place to effect these directives to the letter.

The General public should be rest-assured that the Government of Akwa Ibom State will leave no stones unturned in ensuring the safety of lives and properties as well as the peace and security of the state

Signed

Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem
Secretary to State Government
Akwa Ibom State

Science/Technology / Re: Non-proliferation Of Nuclear Weapons: Five Nuclear Powers Issue Joint Statement by emae009(m): 7:54pm On Jan 03, 2022
DeepSight:

Can you show us the UN Protocol which establishes this procedure?
You probably should be referring, at all events, to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The UN Security Council is not made up of five members, it has many more members - however there are five permanent members who have a veto (one veto vote equal to 99 - or more - which kain sense be that, na animal sense).

While it is perfectly understood that those five permanent members won their permanence by virtue of winning the second world war and and thus establishing the international order of today, the second world war ended over 75 years ago and it is increasingly untenable to justify an undemocratic arrangement whereby each member within a small group of five countries has the right to veto the rest of the world at a time when democracy is touted as gospel in the world.

This just finally showed up what I have already suspected. That you know nothing about international affairs.
School up, or stick to your field.

dude read to understand... You dey explain what you should have understood. Making it a repetition. The 5 permanent members are the ones that their decision matters.. rendering other members useless meaning they might as well be the 5 members.

Please you that is well versed in international affairs. Please explain why the US tend to be the one to carry out UN economic sanctions??

You should understand both what you say and what you imply. What you infer.
You said that one doesn't have to be a part of the treaty to be held to account regarding development of nukes by the UN.
That infers being bound.
What UN by the way?
Do you mean the club of nuclear armed countries or the UN?
You should be exact with your words and inferences.

at preliminary stage, the abandonment of nuclear deterrence procurement is discussed by the UN with the intended country. Where agreement is not reached at the end of the discussion will be sanctions.

what you call club is actually UN Security Council made up of 5 countries.

Now international trade is usually carried out in US dollars so any economic sanctions by the UN will be carried out by the US, of which other countries can join.

But have more than 10 reason to attack North Korea

there's no where that 3 CSG is mentioned. It would be a waste of resources to pull 2 CSG from their primary place of deployment just for North Korea. I think you first should read and understand what a CSG is before throwing up numbers

which is why I asked you for those reasons and your reply was everything...

Talk oh, dont talk oh, that's your cup of tea - no one is begging to hear you.
India, Pakistan and North Korea are evidence that you are talking bunkum and even Iran had to be carefully negotiated with.
Now if an individual country wants to stop you, (e.g - Israel v Iran) that's a different matter.

If a single country or an alliance of countries decide to cripple you with sanctions, that's also their free choice.
But to claim that anyone is bound by any treaty they are not a signatory to, is just bunkum.

understanding will really help you in life... Never said they are bound by the treaty. Specifically wrote that twice but you still go on and on and on about something I didn't say.

Please lets be serious. Israel's nukes are the worst kept secret in the world.

Nonsense, when did North Korea complete theirs?
Any sufficiently determined country with the resources can acquire nukes - most will not bother because they are of little to no use to them.

No one is bound by a treaty they are not party to, period.

North Korea nuclear program started with Kim grandfather Kim Sung II.
When asked if he was going to take on America with it, he said that he knows fighting America will be the end of North Korea, that the weapons were means to get America to come to the table for discussion to lift sanctions on North Korea and ease their economic burdens.

I'm not going to talk about this again. Did it already in another thread. You don't have to be a signatory to the treaty, if you start enriching nuclear material to weapon grade, the UN will come for discussion to ask you to abandon the idea. Failure to do that will result in sanctions.

Common sense is truly not common. It shouldn't take a genius to know that what Israel meant by "not needing permission" is all about dropping the perception of being America's puppet in the Middle East.
It's so clear to the eyes and anyone with sound mind.

But you have over six pages of people thinking America is abandoning Israel. or Israel can't do it on their own.

Israel killed Iranian nuclear scientist yet somehow CIA was roped into that. Iran Nuclear research site blew up, again fingers were pointed at Israel and somehow America was roped into that also.
I mean the whole "no permission needed" is so clear it's hurt to see how you guys reason!

What you posted is not correct. Apple is the company with the highest net worth on earth. It has a net worth of over $2.6trillion dollars. Samsung has a net worth of over $250billion. I don't want to bother about the rest because I already know that if I do my investigation, what I will find out will also be different from what you posted. Always do your research properly before making posts like this, we are not all dumb.

Actually, that's their market value. I doubt that's their net worth though as it is difficult to calculate because companies like Apple strategically avoid mentioning something like that.

Cuba wasn't even a war to begin with, more of a covert ops that went wrong. The threat of a full scale invasion of Cuba was one of the reason the Soviet Union agreed to remove all ballistic missiles from Cuba.

American news agencies stated that the pentagon didn’t have patriots shield as of the time of this attack. But I believe they must have had some other forms of Defence for these bases.

Since that incident, and after the deployment of defense systems, militias in Iraq have on many occasion successfully hit American bases with missiles.

If you put any effort you would have found out why there wasn't any defense system in that particular base in Iraq.
But I think you rather perpetuate the now famous "western propaganda" instead of doing any meaningful research.

The Patriot is the most battle proven SAM system in the world. Goes to show you don't really know what you talking about.
The oil facility incident was carried out using cheap drones that the version of the SAM installed at the time wasn't configured to deal with.
Those Patriots were eventually replaced with the PAC-3 version.

If you have any clue about drone warfare, you would know it's a major problem for all players involved in the defense industry. That's why so many new technologies are being tested and fielded to counter those cheap suicide flying ammunitions

How many wars have the US won since WW2?
Korea?
Vietnam?
Somalia?
Iraq?
Afghanistan?
Yemen?
Cuba ( bay of pigs) ?
Syria?
Libya?
Bosnia?

I really can’t think of any of these wars that US successfully fought to a completion and a win.

Andrei ( the original writer) may be right on this one.

please define what winning would be to you in all those wars?
Committing genocides and importing Americans to come live there? Change of flag or Anthem?
what exactly is this winning you guys keep wailing about.

June - July scheduling of other international tournaments.
Everybody will finish their club season together, represent their countries together, go for short vacation together and return to club football together.

with this settings, Liverpool isn't going to give the likes or Salah any vacation once the tournament ends. One of the reasons Africans rarely have a long football career

African weather is best between January and April when the rains are on vacation.

We still have days of dry weather in the summer. It doesn't rain all day every day.

If you want to use Qatar as a case study, you should learn that the hot summer is usually above normal that it's almost unbearable. That'd mean all the stadiums will be closed and fully Air Conditioned. Imagine the cost effectiveness of that.
Don't take my word for it, book a trip to Qatar in the summer and see for yourself
