I guess they are now doing the criminality and eligibility checks. I suspect they try to ensure the applications get near the maximum processing time. 15 weeks currently I think. Jejelaye01: The wait is more than a month now. This is my first application. And spouse is on PGWP. |

Maybe a month. Is this yr first application? Is yr spouse as student or PGWP. What did u use as family ties? Jejelaye01: Is it suppose to be longer before we receive medical mail? Does anybody know how long it takes to get a response from cic after passing medicals? |

Are u a December applicant? iamuchenna: Any news for Dec 2019 Sowp application? |
Travel › Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by emeify1: 3:46pm On Feb 09, 2020 |
What I meant is that refusals sometimes come fast. Delays sometimes means additional reviews which could turn out to higher chances of approvals, though it could also lead to denial. So it matters if yr application is still on background check or eligibility has started too. Clearer? iamuchenna: I dont understand? |

The Niagara region is great for students. Theres Brock University and Niagara college so.lots of students, adequate jobs and affordable accomodation. lilgan: To be honest I very much get your message. These are the things I initially considered that drove me here to ask the question initially. Guess there’s no one here studying in Niagara College. I’d keep my tabs open and explore other options. If your last 2 levels are up to a 2.1 grade, you are good to go. Why dont u ask d school yourself,d does your friend work.there? U cant know without trying dellons: Good evening everyone. I tried applying for Msc Biological science into Brock university but was advised by a friend against doing that because of my CGPA which is 3.08 as it might not be accepted although it was stated that the final 2 levels are the most important(my 300lv GP was 4.0 while 400lv was 3.9, first year and second year brought it down all thanks to missing scripts and my unserious character then). Please whats the best route to go, PGC or Post Baccalaureate and the difference between the both? I need everyone's advice on what to do.
Thanks to everyone who make out time to answer questions here. |

Which route do u want to try? For work permit, u need a job offer first. For sowp, u need a spouse who works or schools on Canada. I dont know how u can get a Canada job from Nigeria though. All the best. Have u thought of the study route? Remicynt: Hi everyone in this great platform. My husband and I are seeking for greener pastures. We r on the express entry route but we d scores are blowing up and we have really tried on IELTS. We just want to seek other means. I need sincere answers as I have questions to ask about this visitors Visa. 1. Do we need to apply fr a visitor Visa 2. How can we get a job 3 can we continue our pr application process while on this and also after the visa has been approved 4 what are the benefits of work permit Visa eg are we going to benefit from health insurance and some little benefits before pr comes. We want to try this route cs the only option now is gettn an employment or have an experience in Canada dat will go a long way in boosting our crs scores as we don't have any relative whatsoever. Plz I will like this questions to be answered as it will give us an headway in our plans. Thanks in advance. |

Reapply for the SOWP as seeing your hubby has a work permit, they may not issue you a visitor Visa. Order your GCMS asap. Does your hubby have a NOC A, B or 0 job in Canada? If u give a few more details about yr application, I could offer some pointers. I have been where u are now. YesLadyN: Hello my good people,
I’ve been reading along on this page for a while now and I appreciate how you all provide advice and encouragement here.
After waiting since mid September, my application for SWOP ended in a refusal today on the grounds of family ties in Canada and Nigeria, and current employment situation.^^ It was devastating to say the least.
^^In my opinion we weren’t well-informed about how to present a water-tight and compelling application. This nairaland resource field wasn’t mined because it didn’t occur to us to use it...oversight is now hindsight!
Here’s my basic info anyway: -Newly married -Spouse works in Canada with a 2yr PGWP -I’m employed here with a Federal Govt parastatal. It’s standard and very stable. -Finances are available -No travel history. -No personal business/landed assets right now
However, these are our other options: 1. Reshoot our shot on the SOWP line, or 2. Try visitor visa with my annual leave, or 3. Manage and stick to PR route ONLY (we are still in the early stages of gathering our documents)**
**The TRV route keeps popping up instead of waiting the whole nine yards for PR because we’ve had just a week as man and wife. #pains...
Now, in the light of the above-mentioned conditions, what do you guys advise we do? -What are my chances of success for each option? -Is it advisable to reapply for SOWP without requesting for GMSC notes first? -Won’t it count as desperation to apply for visitor visa? -Is it contradictory to apply for a work permit when I supposedly already have a satisfying job here? I mean, I applied because I have to be with my husband even though I love my current job...
Many questions on my mind but I just need whoever can to put things into proper perspective for me.
Please be kind while at it. I’m still sore and downcast, you know.
Thank you all.
Sigh! |

76 days @YesLadyN, your application has gone beyond the processing time. Have you contacted them yet using CSE form? I think I need to. YesLadyN: That’s right.
It was 76 days about last week. It’s system generated as some applications are processed shorter and longer than this average time.
Kudos to those who’ve been waiting since July w/o update. |

They are not likely to call you and processing time is about 19 weeks. Why not ask him to share your online profile with you? Was it your email that was used for the application? . dyce101: Good morning my people I did my biometrics 19 of November nothing yet till now my agent call me yesterday, he said
Hello bro, please expect a call for the Canada immigration office any day from now, inform me immediately they call you I asked him what are they calling for why not mail me ? He said Just to inform you of the status of your application.
