I feel very disappointed with most comments from our future leaders here on NL. Its obvious, that most of u will be worse than Abacha when u get to power. I always advocate change, but in a democratic country, it is very wrong for GMB to do that. That's if its true anyways. Please guys, comments objectively like true patriotic citizens that will stand for truth any day any time. God bless Nigeria |
Is that so? |

Pastor Lawrence Okechukwu Amuruche, a 61-year-old father of two, has cried out for help after the anointing oil, water and prayer points given him by the General Overseer of his church, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya failed to stop the cataract growing in his eyes. Amuruche, who pastors the Alakija, Satelite town branch of the MFM, said for over a year, he has been battling with eye cataract which has already grown on one eye and threatening to start growing on the second eye if medical help does not come fast. Narrating his ordeal when he visited The Sun head office in Lagos, Pastor Amuruche said the problem started when he noticed his eyes were always itching him, a which development degenerated into blurry sight later. According to him: “I noticed my eyes always scratch me and at a point my vision changed, my sight became blurring. I told my wife about it, she looked into my eyes and told me there was a growth forming in my eyes. So, we sought medical advice.” The optician they visited, for medical advice, informed him that he had developed an eye cataract and that the only way it can be treated is surgery. “I went to an optician in the estate where I live who told me that it is cataract and that the only way out is surgery. Initially, I didn’t know what the problem was because I have not experienced it before and it is not in my lineage. So, we went to Eye Foundation Hospital, Ikeja, for treatment.” “At the hospital”, Pastor Amuruche continues, “they said I should provide N450,000 per eye. That is N900,000 for the two eyes but I cannot afford it. I did an eye test for which I paid N130,000 pending the time I will get money for the surgery. But I have not been able to raise money and my situation is getting worse by the day.” In his quest to seek alternative treatment for his eyes at no cost, Pastor Amuruche embarked on a journey to Isiukwuato LGA, Abia State, when he heard that a group of opticians flew in from the United States to help people with eye problems free-of-charge.Unfortunately, his effort to get cured was frustrated by the mammoth crowd that besieged the venue. “I spent five days there but I could not do the surgery because the crowd was much. That is how I have been going around for assistance and now it is moving to the other eye”, he stated. Asked if the church has done anything to assist him, he looked up from the documents he was sorting with a torchlight, under a well lit room and thick lens glasses on his eyes, and said: “I have gone to my General Overseer for money to do the surgery. To get him was a problem. It was just last week that I was able to get him. But instead of giving me money to do the surgery, he gave anointing oil, prayer points and water to be washing my face. I told him that I have prayed. I have been doing fasting and have been doing vigils concerning the eyes. But it has been deteriorating. If my coming out to seek for help will lead to my sack, let him sack me and I will go instead of losing my eyes in the name of ministry. And I will not be able to minister, I will not pastor and I will be in the house and they will not pay me.”. www. sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=73878

You might not really know that someone reading this right now could start believing in God once again by just your testimonies of God's greatness in your lives. Let's share them as it could bring succour and hope to someone els. |
Am actually surprised to hear u say this happens to u as well because I used to experience thesame thing. What I did den was to make sounds frm inside even though nothing in me could make a single move and wen I do dat, anyone around me den would tap me or just push me thinking I was dreaming, den I will be able to gain physical consciousness without which I would remain there until like 10 to 20 minutes. I actually prayed fervently abt it and right now, av stopped experiencing such. Though it lasted for abt three years. |
Mrs mansson: Life is a market that entails buying and selling.the society has no problem with your decision to buy and sell.but surely society demand and supply exist,if one buys so expensive(uni degree)and can't sell very expensive then such individual is to blame not the society.. Very correct. |
Mrs mansson: One advise I always tell people.Do not buy so expensive and later sell cheaply.what do I mean?you spend millions of naira in acquiring a uni degree and at the end of the day you are rated just within 80-120 thousand naira in the labour market.By the time you are through with your bills how much is left to give to papa who actually spent such money?people keep complaining about our degraded uni.yeah I agree but my friend a lot of brains graduated from such schools and they are doing so well. But my dear Nigerias would never agree oh.. Who is to blame, The society or the individuals ? |
damiso: I personally think of it as a two way thing. If you decide to have kids, please as much as possible do all you can to raise them best you can.Invest not just money (cos alot of times we see this as the only element, vital element but not the only one), time, love, prayer etc to make that child grow up into a well rounded adult.Do your part and hope that at the end of the day, you have raised a well rounded individual who can be a constructive part of society. As this is done, also (I know might not be popular but it needs to be said) if possible plan for your retirement. That you raised a well rounded individual does not immediately translate to an automatic pension.Sometimes sef the child might be willing to do all but circumstances around them at that point e.g lack of funds, small growing family, insensitive spouse etc might not make it easy to fulfil that obligation. If your child financially takes of you, see it as blessing if they dont or cant also just see it as you have done your part.Dont expect your child to fund your high flying lifestyle simply because you raised them I personally think its unfair.. Wonderful, nice one there |
Do I call this culture, norms or what? Here in Africa, Most average parents believes that investing so much on their kids is a guarantee for a successful and well arranged REST at old age. They believe when they invest if not most of their savings on their children, the children will in-turn return that favour as well. As for me, I don't think that is wrong at all. Now on the other hand, some children really don't think that they are obligated to do that while some really feel they are but the present unemployment rate in the country & poverty rate in Africa is alarming, which makes it difficult for some children to return such favour to their parents. Some stil lives with their parent & feed from them. I have seen some parents complain about their well to do children not helping out while some complain in form of regret. Now my question is, What would you do as a parent in situations like this & as a would be parents, would you invest so much on your kids with such thoughts in Mind? |
kufre2010: One thing in this world is that everything follows the law of nature which is the natural law. Nature will not allow u to sow cocoyam and reap yam, same thing nature can't allow u to give birth to a walking baby. It natural that the baby has to undergo other stages before walking. The same thing with somebody who was crippled and the leg badly formed he has to undergo some development stage by stage begining with the leg taking it normal shape and the bone recieving strength, these will take some period and wil b gradually not atomatic. So anything automatic is magic and magic is from the devil to decieve and not natural. So you are simply saying? |
