About the guy I told you about, when he landed, his LinkedIn was still set to open to new jobs/roles. Every day, he would receive messages from recruiters inviting him to interviews. He declined all because he is a student. At one point, it got too much, and he changed the settings. On his own, he applied for remote work with $110K as the offer, and passed the interviews but was denied the role as he was on student visa. Today, bros has gotten three jobs, and all he is waiting for is to graduate. He told me that work dey abroad, and it was until he left he did not know that we were losing out while in Africa. This is someone who was earning 150K per month o while in Nigeria.

When he becomes a permanent resident, only God knows how much he will earn.

If you manage to get a remote job struggle and save. If possible save at least 80 to 90 percent of your salary while thinking of what to do with your life. Money gives you options. I don't know how I would have been now if I wasn't saving. If I moved to lekki and bought a car I would have probably killed myself now

I wish I could frame this tweet, this is exactly how I feel anytime, it's why a second passport is needed, getting another job is extremely hard.

If you apply for a US visa you won't get an appointment till late 2024 or early 2025 and they go still deny you. Nigeria has rejection rates greater than 70 percent. Take Argentina inspire of economic problems, rejection rates are less than 1 percent.

These people have mood swing and they can push your file somewhere it will be difficult to locate

I'm not saying you should not go before the appointed date but it will be better if you go on the appointed date

Some people paid as much as 60k to 85k to so called agent but still waited till around 8pm before they captured while some were unable to capture due to error in the data

To make it soft, arrive as early as possible and keep like extra 1k for hand.

They will call you for verification, interview and all that.l then you will be prepared for capturing

Prepare your mind to spend the whole day at the place, some family member who submitted their document the same time got different capturing session, wife capture around 1pm while husband captured at past 8pm so just be prepared

All I shared here is 100% personal experience as I followed someone to the place last week & today

For Ibadan DIY people, your main bottleneck is the front office. They just give people arbitrary dates to come back for capturing depending on their mood, meanwhile it is something that you can complete the same day or at most the second day provided you all your documents are intact and you don't have issue with your NIN. For example opened my file yesterday and I was asked to come back next week Thursday for capturing, later they said I should come on Friday after I tried pleading with one of them. I decided to go today and on getting to the front office the lady on the table where i submitted my file said they told me to come on Friday, another woman who seems to be a superior kind of recognized my face from yesterday interjected and said I should check through the pile of files on the table for mine, and I found it ready for the next stage together with some other people that also started yesterday. I was directed to the next place to take the file to, and I eventually captured today. The front office determines if you will complete it in a day or not. Once you are able to move your file out of the front office before 1pm, you will likely be able to capture the same day.

So I decided to come again instead of letting the day waste. By the time I got to the front office around 10am, my file was ready for the next stage. So if you can go early tomorrow and get to the verification stage by afternoon, you may be able to capture tomorrow. Please note that this is my personal experience. You can also decide to wait till Friday

Don't wait till Monday. Go there tomorrow. I started mine yesterday, I was asked to come back next Thursday but I decided to come today. I am there now. I have collected my file from the front office and it is currently at the NIN verification office. I'm still waiting.

For team DIY at Ibadan. I don't think there will any issue, I did DIY and I've collected my passport, same with wife, she captured last week. However, experiences differs. Nobody will demand money from you.
The only challenge is that you will have to wait till last batch before capturing. As at the time I did mine I left the office by 8:00pm

I only followed someone to the place as guarantor and after we've satisfied every requirements, they still postpone capturing

What I noticed is that they swap peoples capturing dates, those who bribe their way will make use of online applicants dates

You might be lucky but prepare for delay & postponements

Mind you, some people paid huge amounts of money to some officers still they have issues.

Anybody who want to DIY should just forget Ibadan office, but things might change tomorrow btw

IT is in high demand in Europe, infact, IT earns more than medical fields here in the UK. But the truth is that, just a few companies will be ready to employ you directly from Nigeria, even if its going to be a remote job, you are expected to be within the EU or UK as the case maybe. Because at certain times, maybe once in 2 months, your physical presence will be needed.

Way forward. Sincerely, I don't know much about Estonia. I don't. But with 3900 Euros, why not consider the UK, maybe u can save a little more for same study route. Study isn't that expensive in the UK, most especially if you are single, there are schools which accept 14,000 pounds, thats like 7.2m, why not try those means. And u can switch once u get here. In as much as u are good in what you do.

You will be glad you did.

Yes. I am into Tech, but apart from being in tech in naija, there are boundless opportunities here to even learn.

I am going to use my case as an example, I got to the UK, I have to go for a particular course, I paid 2200 pounds for the course, at completion, I got 3 offers, the least pay is 55k pounds aside benefit per annum.
If I was in naija, where will I be able to raise 2200 pounds, where will I be able to get such jobs.

Nigerians are doing well here, of course, the lazy ones are also complaining. When I got to the UK, the first Job I got, a young Nigerian (36 years) is the operation manager for one of the biggest sport company in the world.

My advice again, if you are young, opened minded, ready to learn and can afford traveling legitimately to Europe, pls do. If you are smart and good in what you do, Europe has 1 million and 1 opportunities for you to flourish. Don't mind those telling you to set up business in Nigeria, I did and my hands got burnt.

Ibadan immigration office is a joke

They don't follow date on your appointment slip

They will ask why you applied online

Make sure that you get another means of ID of your guarantor because they will ask for it

They will probably tell you to come by next week

Don't bother contacting immigration office on twitter because that place is dead

My advise is everyone should boycott ibadan immigration office for now, they will just waste your time

I am speaking from my own experience, 6 months is enough to stabilise when u move to Europe legitimately like I did, with a skill, certificate and hardworking. You will be fine in max 6 months.

Stop discouraging people from going to a country you have never been to, I have been in Nigeria, I have been in Europe. I know what I am saying.

Then, for the submission, you can go a day or anytime before capturing date.

If at all you want to submit on your capturing date, make it very early.

I remember a guy came to submit his that same day of capturing and they so much vexed for him and got him delayed, especially since he is a DIYer.
