I came to find out a very quiet friend, who was otherwise shy and timid and very slow to anger had been physically abusing his partner for a long while and she lost a pregnancy.

Even when we reaon it among friends we can not put it together, someone being nice and reserved doesn't put them above prime evil, it actually makes them more prone to extreme unannounced violence
You are perfectly correct, most crimes of passion have been linked to the so called very reserve/quiet individuals.

Yewande was my classmate in secondary school. very quiet. This is unbelievable.

That someone is typically quiet doesnt mean (s)he can not murder.

Every human being can snap, we all have our breaking point, and we handle outbursts differently. In fact , psychologists discovered the quiet ones outbursts tends to be more brutal, because they have internalised so much, then when it overflows,.......it is better imagined.

Even Jesus got angry with buyers/sellers in the temple, and you know what he did thereafter if you are a bible scholar.

This is nothing but an attempt to cultivate public emotion for something nobody really knows about. I know yewande very well and she has NEVER been violent in her life. Moreover she is a trained lawyer and a state prosecutor, so she knows the gravity of the offence of murder. So there is definitely more to the story than meets the eye

Nobody was there when the incident happened. But the truth shall surely unfold in the course of trial

What is your point? That the man commited suicide by stabbing himself on the neck?

The budget has several loopholes, and i think the minister has acted in good faith, the pmb administration has learnt it lesson, the ministers didnt have a firm grip of the budget due to the fact they came in late, some of the supposed fellows standing in gap who initially were involved in the budget process were crooks, but the correction lies in these sort of process and even implementation stage.

Politics / Re: Accept Electricity Tariff Hike As Painful Pill – Fashola by emiye(m): 10:06pm On Feb 08, 2016
FabioPeter:
70% of electricity users on the grid DO NOT pay at all, it cost less than 1000naira to bypass your electricity meter, yes of course rarely any consequence other than you enjoy free electricity for years to come.
Now 30% pay their electricity bills, sometimes they run out of units and look out at the neighbours who do not pay at all enjoying power supply( they probably plead with them to o help charge their phones). Same 30% change all bulbs to energy saving bulbs and turn off light not in use yet watch their neighbours leave the bulb permanently switched on.
Fashola is fully aware of this ratio and even expressed his frustration. What baffles me is the decision to increase the burden of the unwise 30% who pay their bills. What he demands is that 30% should pay the bill of 100%. This is indeed very silly. I need some common sense hence forth.
Reason why pre-paid meters should be made compulsory, they should distribute it to eveyone, and the associated costs for payment be deducted through recharge mode over span of years. The 70% that you claim do not pay, actually pay unofficially to some officials pockets. What the discos need to do afterwards is to throw out monitoring officers accompanied by law enforcement officers to arrest those who bypass the system.

Prepaid Meter is just one aspect of it! I understand those who dont have it, are cheated the most and in an even lower pecking order.

I have been using pre-Paid Meter for over 5yrs now!

But l have seen the cost/Tariff/price of a unit of electricity JERKED UP every time..... even though the Power Supply is annoyingly epileptic (imagine having to off-and-on the Generator four times within a single midnight hours? (Loss of Sleep!).

They said they have abolished "Fixed Charge" but l still bought credit yesterday and that fixed charge was still taken out of my money.
And as of today, the amount of electricity-units l get from the 7K worth l buy monthly, is even less, compared to before.

When will people like Mr. Raji Fashola understand that "throwing more money at a problem", is NOT ALWAYS the solution?
We are all in this country when some of these "wicked elites" told us that for Petrol to be available, we should be willing to pay #200/Litre!
But TODAY, petrol attendants BEG US to come and buy Fuel at their stations ....(l was joking with one today, l said: You people have suddenly become "so nice to us, your customers"? he smiled and said: Its the Government. ) .... yet the price is just #86.50, despite the removal of subsidy!
What we are paying (for these essential utilities) is definitely not a true reflection of the production cost ....but a reflection of what some GREEDY ROGUES, who have cornered these Public Service utilities for themselves, want us to pay, for their own benefit

Prepaid meter for EVERYONE is the number 1 issue in my opinion. The Discos are making so much money courtesy of the inefficiency of estimated billing, that improvement in service/ power supply is not big concern to them, i have a strong belief that with prepaid meters for every subscribers and at the rate of the new tarriff, they will rake in lesser revenue, and it is no brainer they will have no choice to improve service. Also, with prepaid meters, wasteful Nigerians will conserve power supply in their homes, meaning conserved supply can be distributed to other homes.

We should not crucify Fashola, the MYTO(multi year tarriff order) was not his doing, it was an agreement of the previous regime, and this is not the first time tarriff will be increased over the last 5 years. he has also promised that tarriff will start reducing again in the next 2 years.

The prepaid meters is what i am canvassing for, deploying prepaid meters is not rocket science. Why should customers pay for meters, and it should take months before it is fixed or supplied? Is prepaid meter now rocket technology? Lots of Nigerians screaming hike in tarriff should understand that the real issue is the fraudulent estimated billing , not the tarriff. I am all for efficiency before effectiveness. Once everyone pays for the actual unit they consume, then no qualms, with prepaid meter, i can decide not to use discos power supply for the whole month, but my petrol generator, and no bill is paid. shikenan

The problem of waec performance is half way solved in my opinion, the state govt has closed up the gap in the physical structures , the remaining half is in the human resources and policy. The state govt has now decided to stop payment of wassce fees for students, except they can passs the newly introduced mock exams. you can see the kind of protests against the policy by the students who destroyed amenities in a radio station, they are most likely enervated by some political actors in background; can those sort of students pass wassce exam? The teachers are at record low morale, which the effect is reflecting on the students, while the state govt can improve teacher's morale in very few months , it will take years to improve physical structures . I also feel maths and english teachers should be specially singled out for tailored training,

1- What is subsidy in the first place?
2- I think we shouldn't even be talking about subsidy in this country! We have crude oil, we exporting and we importing! Why can't we be using our crude oil to trade for the refined one? Why are we paying for importing and why is it that the importing price is higher than the exporting price, please elaborate?

3- No crude oil in South Africa and yet they paying less than Nigeria that have crude oil. A litre of PMS in South Africa is 90cent which is N14.80 in Nigeria currency... Are they not paying for subsidy in South Africa? What is called subsidy please?

#I believe subsidy is a scam.

I just saw where NNPC reported , Nigerians consume average of 30 million litres of petrol /day , 12 mil. litres of diesel /day, 8mill, litres of Kerosene/day, 2 million litres of jet fuel/day. So, what i can infer is that to stop importation, we will need to guarantee local production of roughly 45 million litres of petrol daily.... , but the current production at 40% of the total capacity of refineries (445k barrels) will give 14.5 million litres.

Question

Answer

Nigeria can no longer afford to pay subsidy on petroleum products full stop. Corruption or no corruption we do not have the money to pay. You have to let it sink in your head. We have an infrastructural decay that will take 200 billion dollars to fix, you have annual 'deficit' budget of less than 20 billion dollars of which 40 percent is used to fund lazy states and you want to continue to spend 25% of your the remaining budget to subsidize PMS?

Hope the anology below helps

You are the head of your house, and you have an annual budget of 100 naira. Rent in a dilapidated house is 20 Naira. School fees is 20 Naira. Transportation to work and school is 30 Naira. Fueling your generator is 30 Naira. Let say you want to start up a new business to increase your income and as such you need to save 20 Naira. You also need to move from your present apartment because the ceiling leaks water any time it rains, which will require you save an extra 10 Naira. You took a loan from the bank, and the monthly deduction is 10 Naira. You have relations that cannot run their family and they have come asking for money because the landlord is about to evict them from the house. In the middle of all these, Something happened and your annual budget is reduced to 50 Naira. Will you keep paying for fuel to light up your house while you cannot pay rent and your kids can not go to school?

Before you critic always put yourself in a leadership position and provide practical solution

Oga, what do you think is the average volume of petrol consumed by Nigerians daily?

We have a 445,000 barrels/day refineries, if the refineries have a 40% performance, that is like 175,000barrels /day.

What volume of Petrol , diesel, kerosene/jet fuel , will a 175,000 barrels/day produce daily?

I have other questions ? if you answer these ones, maybe i can proceed.

Anyone who can help to provide answers is appreciated.
