yinkaoke:@yinkaoke, that is the CBN current policy on using the dollars in your account. It's the way the dollar enters that is how it will come out. If it was a cash deposit, you must withdraw; if wired, that is when it can be transferred. Sincerely, this has been one of the major issues many investors have concerning dollar funds investment. However, Norrenbeger Asset Mgt. has tried to overcome the hurdles by accepting dollar deposits or naira for the Norrenberger dollar fund. You can chat me up or complete the attached form to open a norrenberger dollar fund account. |
Yemoskii:@bfn1 and @freeman67 you guys said it all. Well done. @Yemoskii your observation is correct some years back it was like that, the collection account was always with the affiliate bank of the fund managers, The regulator ie SEC saw some risk in that process and decided that the custodian bank must not have any affiliation with the fund manager to avoid a situation of being a judge in your case. The idea is to strengthen checks and balances in the mutual funds market and to have better corporate governance. By the way, anytime you come across a fund manager having a collection account with its affiliate bank, please run, it's a red flag. In fact, it should form part of your due diligence while trying to invest in any mutual fund with a fund manager. |
Olaide1295:Your feedback is noted. The process is seamless though. I hope you are talking to the right team. Anyway please chat me up. |
exclusiveoloori:If the rate is low we worry, if it's high we worry. Watin we really want sef. That is by the way. @exclusiveoloori, there is nothing to worry about. Enjoy the high rates while it lasts after all even with the current rate investors still have negative real returns compared to the current inflation. |
Tohmey:This is not a Dollar fund. It's a placement where both the capital and interest are guaranteed. Alternatively, you can do a dollar fund with Norrenberger, the minimum is $550 |
Tohmey:@Tohmey here is the response directly from the team in charge. The minimum is 5,000 USD, All the person needs to do is transfer the funds and send us an instruction on the tenor to fix it for For those interested and who don't have an account with IOne, click the third link on my signature and pick fixed income as the product name to open an account. |
heavenisreal18:Let's have a chat. My phone number is on my signature. I will also send you a comprehensive voice note to explain in details all about mutual funds. By the way MMF is in the category of low risk investment, very suitable for beginners. You can also click the first link on my signature to start. You don't even need to be in the physical office or the bank. |

A305:Don't be sacred. The economy has a way to balance things up. If you were already conversant with the economy or the capital market in the major part of 2008 and 2009 or even not too long as in 2020 you will understand what I mean. One thing you should know is that at any point in the economic situation in Nigeria, it's an opportunity for you as an investor. it's just for you to identify these opportunities and benefit from them. |
A305:@A305 enjoy whatever u see while it last. What we are see now is not new. We have seen crazy rates in time past in both sides ie extremely high rates like what you see now and the opposite as seen about three years back where Tbills and MMF were less than 5% What investors should be focus on now is getting returns that will reduce negative real returns with respect to the current inflation rate. |
ceelog:@ceelog I Rep them because I was recommended and I did my due diligence to see if they met my criteria for such representation. They are SEC-regulated and their products are SEC-registered Norrenberger is doing well and has been around for the past 5 years but was concentrating on corporate clients, now they wish to build their retail customer base. They are in a group - they own IEI, pension, microfinance bank, stockbroking, and asset management. They also own 60% of Infrastructure Bank. You can open an account with them for MMF, Dollar fund etc. The account opening form is attached to this post |
davit:@davit Yes it's good to manage risk but the law regulating fund management differs from that of MDBs. More than one fund manager is advised because of customer satisfaction and operations, not so much because of the safety of your funds. The risk on your funds is guided by the type of fund, not the fund manager. Irrespective of the fund manager, MMF remains a low-risk investment and by law your capital is guaranteed. The investment you see in your MMF is not in cash. The money being collected from investors is invested in short debt instruments like Tbills and Commercial paper and FGN Bonds for fixed-income funds, though there could also be bank deposits. As part of the regulation, you will notice that the collection accounts for all fund managers are mostly systemic important financial institutions. Not all banks can be allowed to go the way of Heritage, so rest assured your MMF is safe and remains a low-risk investment. The real caution for every investor is to ensure any fund manager you wish to invest with MUST be SEC regulated and the product also SEC approved. Remember having a CAC certificate of company registration is not the same as being regulated by SEC. Let's be well-guided. |
Grupo:infoteam at gtfundmanagers dot com is what I used the last time I communicated with them. You will need a lot of patience o, it could also be otherwise. |
Grupo:@Grupo this is what happened, the mutual fund business of investment one was sold to GTBank when they were to attain the HoldCo structure. Investment One is no longer in the mutual funds business. Your investment is not lost. It's with GTFund managers. Unfortunately, their portal has been down for a long time now. You can only know what you have in your account by sending mail to their customer care requesting your account statement. You can look the way of Norrenberger if you want to patronize more fund managers. The form is attached. |
SetrakusRa:That is strange. I just opened a dollar and Money market fund for a prospect some few days back and it was done in a matter of hours. The person in question have invested already on same day. Chat me up to see what could have gone wrong and for a resolution. |
David6956:I have always recommended SFS Capital for Fixed Income Norrenberger for MMF and Dollar fund. I could follow up on any process with them. Click on the second link on my signature to open an account with SFS or, fill out the attached form for Norrenberger |
freeman67:@freeman67 I agree with you. Most financial institutions have lost many good hands because of the Japa syndrome. However, the fact that they are big can't be ruled as well. As I said, having at least two firms or more could just be away to avoid being trapped with any firm. |
Batman2412:It depends on your priority it can be the same product or different products. Stanbic - MMF SFS - Fixed income fund Norrenberger MMF and Dollar fund. |
Streetinvestor2:No, they are not the same. GT MMF was formerly Abacus MMF managed by Investment One but was sold to GTB when they became a Holdco. Yes, Axamansard was the former GT Assurance. I think some of the lapses at Stanbic are because of size. They need to look well to match their customers' needs because their customer base is large. Sometimes, as an investor, it's advised to have at least two fund managers to achieve optimum satisfaction. |
Jokay07:It's enough to start investment in mutual fund particularly money market fund. Click the first or second link on my signature or chat me up to invest your 50k and get between 18 to 19% interest per annum with the option of reinvestment of interest evey quarter. |
David6956:Scenarios that could bring about delays in deposits reflecting in investors' accounts. - Transfer made from a third party's account whose account name is different from the investor's name - When the e-account number was not used as narration or description - Card payment - System glitch at the time of payment. |
stronglink:Simply put, Right issue is when quoted companies sell shares to existing qualified shareholders in most cases at a discount price compare to the current price of the stock on the NGX. Here shareholders pay for the new shares. It's not compulsory you participant in a RI, it's by choice. Bonus as the name implies is like a gift. This is when companies give extra shares to qualified existing shareholders at the expense of the company. Here shareholders don't pay for the new shares. Shareholders get Bonus not by choice even if you are not aware your cscs account will be credited with the bonus due you unlike RI where you have to make a choice. In both cases, your shares increases but for one you pay - RI while the other you don't pay - Bonus. |

Mankind2024:Presco AGM is 6th of June and the payment date same day. |
Mfunkynation:Mansard has retraced their steps. They are to pay a final dividend of 34kobo to make a total of 40kobo with 6kobo already paid as interim earlier—page 33 of their annual report.

DrAkpa:No, not at all. Trading on the shares of listed companies or price rallies benefits shareholders who are involved directly not the companies per se. The benefit the companies gets is the fact that it increases their value. Which is useful for them in other market transactions and some deals that requires valuation of a company. |
2zona:The stock market is regulated but a very free market where entry (buy) and exit (sell) is easy. Just as you came in with 1m to buy that is how an investor came into the market to sell zenith bank shares worth 1m or more. The 1m you brought in goes to the account of the investor that brought in the shares you bought on the floor. The way the money and the shares changes hands that is why we have T+3 days in stock market transactions. When there is a deal, settlement ie clearance is done within three days and the shares you bought settles in your cscs account while the cash of the seller settles in his/her bank account. The whole process is made possible by the stockbroker, NGX, the bank, and the CSCS Plc hence both you the buyer and the other investor the seller pay some charges for the service rendered by these operators and regulators. |
Mankind2024:Yes, they paid 3cent and based on the conversion rate, the naira equivalent is N39.3. The normal dividend and special dividend amount to N78.6 |
Macktaob:Sometimes when it comes to investment rates like this, some investors go just forget simple interest and start thinking otherwise na wao. ![]() |
