You'll still grow older whether you learn it or not. There's nothing like “too old” when trying to better yourself. Do it now, so you won't ask five years from now if you're too old.

Ever moving
Never waiting
Always in motion

A little birdie flew
Fluttered onto my window
Black beak gleamed
In the quiet meadow
Over I went to say hi
But birdie took to the sky
Some days I wonder
If birdie still flies
Whisks into the sky
At a hi from a stranger

The person in question studied agric economics buh has been working as a business admin manager for 18yrs before the IT company folded up

I've never employed anyone and I don't know how that works but I feel like despite what that person studied, the person's years of experience is worth a lot. It'd just take applying to as many job openings as possible to find the right fit.

Short E-book Ghost Writer For Hire

Time of completion : A 10k-word book will be available within a week. This is subject to the existence or non-existence of other writing assignments I may have.

Subjects: I can write both fiction and non-fiction and on all non-fiction topics apart from Tech. This is not a "can't" thing. It's just extremely boring and I will not deal. For fiction, my expertise covers romance and fantasy. But if you have an outline for a book that doesn't fit any of the above, who's to say I can't find the ability to write it?

I also promise to be upfront about what I can and cannot deliver.

Rate: N2 per word for all types of books. There's wiggle room between N1.70 and N2.

Interested? Send an email to Lisaagu9@gmail.com.

There are, maybe not many, but they do exist.

Literature/Writing Ads / How Do I Receive Money Through Paypal In Nigeria? by Emmie224: 7:02pm On May 17, 2021
I previously thought it was impossible to get paid through PayPal in Nigeria since we are not allowed to receive funds as individuals on the site.

But, I saw here on Nairaland that there are people who buy Paypal funds.

I'm trying to understand how it works.

How does it happen? What does the person who is buying the Paypal money get in return? Do you pay them a certain amount? And what rates are common?

Thank you in advance for your replies!
Literature / Bello by Emmie224: 8:42pm On May 01, 2021
Bello stripped out of his gun belt and suspenders. He folded them neatly and placed them both on the lowest level of his wardrobe. After which he pushed on the double doors of the wardrobe until he heard them click in place.

Ever since he'd seen that girl, the one with the big eyes and the smallish body, he'd started making small slips. He was a man who wore control like a second skin. He still had the memory of what his father's lack of control had done to his mother, to all of them.

He never wanted that for himself. So he never slipped. Even for pleasure.

That evening as he ran water over the clothes he'd worn during the day, he refused to lean back on the sink. When the water filled up, he washed with a mechanic precision every inch of the deep grey dress shirt and black trousers he had four versions of. Just as he wasn't given to looseness, he also wasn't vain. Like his father. The man was a peacock.

As Bello hung the clothes on the line to dry, his shoulders shook. That happened rarely and only when he'd seen something really disturbing. Like the time–no, he refused to think of it. But the shaking refused to stop even when he bit his lip and slapped his chest.

The desire to give himself over to anything, any vice was overwhelming. His body fought him. He fell to the ground, curled in on himself and thought of anything. Anything but how average his life was. But as his mind drifted, all he could see were deep brown eyes gazing up at his, a soft annoyed smile playing on small lips.

That girl, maybe she'd be his vice after all.
Literature / Re: Cold World by Emmie224: 5:44pm On Apr 24, 2021
Wow, great story!

Bigbako:
He lost his first wife.

After she had a skirmish with Malaria.

They were just newlyweds.

But the grinning fangs of death sank its venom into their union.

Such is life anyway; for life and death are one, just like the sea and river are one.

He moved on.

Though it was hard.

But he had to.

For he was still young and had no offspring to carry his name unto the next generation.

The second wife came in
.
Ifeoluwa was her name and she brought in joy and made him whole again.

His joy knew no bound when he heard his baby first cry at the hospital.

Hurriedly, he picked up his phone and called the woman who gave him life.

"Mammi, Iyawo mi ti bimo ooo! Ife has given birth to a bouncing baby boy" He roared over the phone.

Mama let out a scream of joy and prayers;

"Iyin ni fun yin Eleda aye. iwọ ti doju tì awọn ọta mi! Thank you Jesus! Dayo, don't worry, I'm coming to Lagos first thing tomorrow morning." She sounded triumphant.

But the bottle housing their elixir of joy was to be broken like the slender back of an old woman.

As Ife didn't make it home.

She gave up the ghost while giving the baby its first suckling.

She closed her eyes and they, the Doctor, nurses and her husband, all thought she was in some sort of meditation to relish on the joy of motherhood.

But that was her own willed way of departure from this earthly realm.

She faded.

Leaving an infant in this cruel world.

To grow up without the supreme love of a mother.

Dayo always knew the mystery behind his travails.

But he was sceptical at first.

Apparently, the reality is right in his face now.

Just like the Ifa Priest prophesied.

Marrying a third wife will definitely break the curse that made his world a theatre of condolences.

But she will die too.

To join his harem of dead wives.

But as he picked up his Son from the hospital, he made a vow never to marry a third.

Nobody is dying again!!!

Even if it means staying single forever.

Let the curse do its worse.
Let the heavens come down.
Let hell break loose.

"No woman deserves to die any longer for my Mother's mistake. No woman deserves to be the sacrificial lamb to atone for my own curse. Two are gone already. They will be no third! It is not their fault I fell from Maami's back as an infant. It is not their fault Maami ignored warnings to dance naked in the market square to avert the curse!"

He said to himself.

Amidst his own sobs.

His baby's shrill cry.

As the darkness expands like black angels wings, absorbing Father and newborn, as they walk into the world of uncertainties.

I don't know the artist or the title of the song but it may be more than one male singer. It's a Nigerian song.

All I remember about the song is this line:

“oole oole...”

That's not much to go on but if you have any idea at all, please share. It'd be greatly appreciated!

•°•°•°•°•~Excerpt from The Mercenary Prince~•°•°•°•°

I followed the sound to a pool. Zinachi swam in and out, her wild hair collecting droplets of water and reflecting the sun. She left her waist and chest wraps discarded on a rock a few feet away. What was she thinking? Someone could see her? Wait, I was someone!

I spun around. “Princess.”

A gasp.

“Put on your clothes and step out of the water.”

“You mean, step out of the water and put on your clothes.” She giggled.

I ground my teeth. “Princess...”

“Or better still, you should join me.”

What? “We need to leave, get out.”

“No.”

I slapped a hand over my face. Not again. “Just come out.”

“No.”

“Or I'll come and get you myself.”

“I dare you.” Her voice was steel.

I shut my eyes and dove in. Cool liquid engulfed me. “You're stubborn and unbearable and you never listen.” I swam to a stop in front of her.

She flicked her hand and water splashed on my face. I squeezed my eyes shut, wiping my eyes and sputtering. “Why?”

“Because you're wound so tight you'd choke on your own seriousness.” She folded her arms over her chest, glaring at me.

I tried to focus on her face and not the fresh mounds popping at the top of her chest. “What will you have me do? Run around wild and free?”

She laughed. “I can't imagine you running wild.”

“I do run wild.” My voice dropped to a low throb.

She licked her lips. “What...what does that look like?”

“This!” I lunged for her.

She screamed and jerked out of the way. I hugged water to myself.

“Come back here.”

She slapped at the water and kicked her feet, laughing. “No.”

A laugh rippled from within me. “Princess, I'm not playing.”

She continued to laugh, so hard she couldn't swim. I reached her and raised her so her head was above water. Her eyes shut, her lips belting the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard and that wild hair, raining water back into the pool undid me. I drew her to myself, wrapped my arms around her soft, unclothed body.

My head protested. She is your cousin's wife. Your charge. You shouldn't hold her. Want her. Care for her.

My heart trembled with the effort to control myself. What was I doing?

Her laugh dwindled to a stop. She stared at me, eyes still gleaming. Her gaze dropped to my lips. “I like you running wild, Ayansi.”

My name on her lips broke the last shred of my control. I plundered those delicious lips, slanted my mouth against hers and tasted the drops of water and her unique taste. Buried my fingers in her hair and tilted her head for better access. She obliged me. Her hands scrambled for hold on my back, my shoulder, my neck. Deciding that wasn't enough, she wrapped her legs around my waist.
