So I just read that APC candidate easily won the gubernatorial elections in Ebonyi State. In-fact he won with 199,131 defeating his PDP rival who had 80,191. A difference of about 120,000 votes. So these people actually voted for APC in Ebonyi but want to force LP down our throats in Lagos abi. I only pity the silly Yorubas that voted along with them in Lagos.

Yorubas voted along with you to defeat a whole Jagaban in his home State; you did not cry tribalism.
You guys voted APGA in the State assembly elections in Anambra (Peter Obi's home state) and that was okay for you people.
You voted APC in the State assembly elections in Imo and that is also fine.
You voted massively for APC in Ebonyi and that is perfect.
LP and PDP are neck in neck in Enugu and it is your right to choose.
LP will win in Abia and that is perfect.

Now Yorubas decided they preferred Sanwo-olu to GRV and that is now tribalism. You want to force GRV - a person whole most of you had never heard of one month ago - down our throats. GRV that,- being Bode George's friend's son is his only achievement and you want us to hand over the 5th largest economy to him? And the only reason why you want him is that he called Yoruba Afonja, he insulted pastor Adeboye and says he does not think in Yoruba. No sane person voting based on competence will vote for GRV ahead of Sanwo-Olu. Even Jandor is better than GRV.

So Yorubas don't have a right to choose again abi? You can decide to vote APGA, LP, APC and PDP in your States but we have to vote whomever you guys chose in Lagos? If we disagree it is tribalism. IGBOS IN LAGOS KNOW YOUR PLACE!!!

I was born and raised in Lagos with my siblings. My parents like most Igbo parents after the war, migrated to Lagos. They made a living in Lagos, and were extremely successful by any standard. Invested in Land properties etc. My dad was not a business man but a banker who attained the height of his career before being appointed by the federal government.

They lived and cohibitated peacefully with the Yoruba, and didn't get involved in their politics. Rather, they were more interested in the politics of our state of origin. They were not tribalistic and we were raised not knowing the difference between us Igbos and Yorubas or any other tribe for that matter. My brother is married to an Ekiti girl. Lovely girl at that. My nephew and niece are Nigerians from both tribes. My child sees her as her Aunty whom she loves and her kids are her best friends. She doesn't know or care about their mothers tribe!

This tribalism comes from some of my Igbo brothers and Yorubas who migrated to Lagos about 10, 15 or 20 years ago, who don't understand co-existence! They've lived too long among their own tribe that living with another is an issue!

To the Igbos who disgracefully say Lagos is no man's land, why then do we perform our traditional rights in the east or perform our last burial rights in our villages even after living our who lives in Lagos! It's seen as a taboo to do otherwise.

Igbos, know your place as the early Igbo dwellers in Lagos did. Don't bring your mindset here and make living in Lagos uncomfortable for us who have lived here all our lives without any form of hatred. Transact your business then leave. Visit Lagos when you have business to transact.

Lagos has always been home for me and my family. My spouse was born here too. We understand from our parents how it works!

Lagos is not a no man's land! Igbos know your place!

I live and work in Lagos. I spent 90% of my earnings in Lagos. I pay my tax in Lagos. In this Lagos, many has taken it as their first home . Our children schools in Lagos. We sanitate Lagos every Thursday morning. But every election year, strange languages will start coming out from some strange quarters that believed Lagos belongs to them.

A simple study of the history of Lagos shows that Lagos was founded by a Benin prince. Even the current Oba of Lagos admitted to that. Apart from them, every other ethnic group in Lagos are settlers including the Yoruba people that are claim Lagos. The original name of Lagos is Eko and Eko is not a Yoruba language. Till today, no Yoruba person can explain the meaning of 'Eko' as I can explain the meaning of my state which 'Anambra'.

In Anambra state , there is a river we call 'Omambra River'. The meaning of 'Ana' in English language is 'Land'. So the creators of Anambra state simply took Ana (land) and took 'mbra' from Omambra to form 'Ana-mbra' state which means "The land of Omambra". That was the origin of the name of my state which is Anambra. But no Yoruba person can define the meaning of Eko. It was the Portuguese that named the land 'Lagos' when they discovered it. Lagos mean 'Lagoons'.

Yoruba people should stop claiming to be owners of Lagos. All the indigenous people in Lagos are settlers. Lagos was counted as a Yoruba state because it is located in Southwestern part of Nigeria.

But if those who claims to be owners of Lagos continues to intimidate other Nigerians living in Lagos, then we will have no choice than to stop participating in some certain things in Lagos. How can I as a Nigerian citizen be disallowed to contest an election in Lagos simply because someone believed I am not a Yoruba person?

Census is coming. If you claim that I don't have the right to contest election in Lagos, why then should I submit myself to be counted as a Lagosian during census? I suggest that during this upcoming census, all the Igbo people, Efik, Urhobo, Ijaw, Tiv, Idoma, Akwanga, Nupe, Hausa, Fulani,etc living in Lagos should refuse to be counted as Lagosians. Let the Yoruba people that are claiming the owners of Lagos submit themselves to be counted since Lagos is their land.

Remember, the amount each state of the federation gets each months from federal allocation depends on the population of the state. The number of local government each state has depends on the the population of the state. This is the reason why no one will remind you that you are not a Yoruba person when it is time for census. They will urge you to make sure that you are counted. Some states will even count their cows as the residents of their state because they want federal allocation coming to their states each month to be huge. During census, tribalism will disappear to reappear during election.

This time around, our mumu edon do! You can't deceive us forever. We won't drag Lagos with you. Lagos belongs to you as you said. But please, please don't involve us during census. Get ready to be counted alone.
