ayotoluakande: To God be all the glory... This journey started in March 2022, I was granted admission into Georgian College. My passport was to expire in May 2022 so I had to apply for a new passport. I got the new passport and submitted my application by June last year for my family (wife and 2 year old daughter), biometrics in June, and Medicals in August 2022.
After a series of waiting, I was refused Visa in October 2022.
Reason 1. Finance (I initially used my inlaw with a balance of 40m in his account as my sponsor) 2. Home tie
Demoralized, but the realization that I will not have to pay for biometrics, and medical and I will only be paying the application fee motivated me.
I reapplied alone eventually on Jan 23, 2023, and to my amazement and God's glory, I got PPR on Feb 13.
As I speak now, I have my Visa and by God's grace, I shall be heading to Barrie shortly.
If you are going to Barrie, kindly send me a DM. I am in Abuja.
What I did differently? 1. I applied alone (using my family as home tie) 2. I showed more money in my account - 100k Canadian
For further information on funds related issues, send a DM Thank you brother. Congratulations |

Jessica50: you are welcome. As a newbie in canada it can be hard to get a job because employers like work experience like breakfast ,lunch and dinner. I have seen some students waiting to get the job of their dream for months and their parents are still sending them money for their rents and other expenses to the point they are relaxing, not knowing they need to build resume. Take advantage of volunteering in school too, its helps to get jobs. Exactly. Thank you sis |

Dejmax: please guys i need advice cos i don't know what to do ....my wife visa was denied last year december because there was no proof of intent to leave Canada after her program ends...and failure to prove adequate financial resources... i had 28m in my account as POF yet they denied her application..we've applied for another school in canada and she has been offered admission..how we start another visa processing?...do i need appeal? I'm ready to add additional money to my balance or better still use company's account..also what other things do i need to provide to convince them ..? i have alot of questions ..please Probably you are using most of the company fund to sponsor, remember your business is a separate entity. Except if you have another source of funds apart from the business. People with less money are getting approval so it depends. My one cent that I gathered from here. |

Should I avoid this family information.
Note: I'm married so can I use only my husband's information. A bit confused. |

1) POF must someone leave it in the account until the visa is out.
2) POF if (1) is no, can i remove it after printing the statement.
3) please i need a clear blueprint on how this POF works exactly. From what I've read so far, they may check and you may be lucky, they will not check. With MBS (my bank statement) they can check easily which is what's in Vogue now instead of printing statement of account. All the best |

Eje18: Well. When I submitted my application in August , I showed Pof of 5million in niara and 8000usd in dollar. But in the month of December. I had to transfer all my money in my niara account to another bank because of zenith bank wahala. So when my PPR came out this February, I had just 155,000 naira in the account. So I feel they work with what you give them. I don't think it's in all cases. It could be luck. Did you move the 8000USD too which is a strong back up fund? |

Aphrodite007: Long post!!! (pls shorten post if you want to reply)
Been a silent reader, can’t thank you all enough for your selfless work, it really helped me. I‘m adopting ogidigan’s method because I think dropping a profile is important. I was desperate for peoples profiles to know if their circumstance was similar to mine.
1st time applicant (though I have an EE profile). 30 year old married (separated) female, self sponsored, living and working in the UK & Nigerian nationality. I studied computing in bsc & msc and I build business software so this is a logical progression- I explained this & that I wanted a promotion in my LOE as reason for study.

GC key portal Education gap: 6 years Program: MBA Duration: 16 months POF1: 4 months bank statement showing 12 months tuition (rather than my total tuition, so just 80%) Source: Salary (Didn’t touch salary during the 4 months I needed for bank statement). Source evidence: Showed 1 months payslip and job confirmation letter. POF2: GIC certificate of 10k CAD for one year maintenance. POF3: scholarship of 40k CAD (50% off my tuition) POF4: Deposit of 5k CAD (uni refused me paying any tuition until enrolment)
Proof of Ties: Showed ties to Nigeria by mentioning my parents in Nigeria. Showed ties to UK with my residence permit, wedding certificate to husband (Brit), my registered company & tax documents, my property documents. Obviously not traveling with hubby so I used he and my sister that lives with me as ties. Also Mentioned how the average earning of my field in Canada is less than Uk so I’ll be inclined to return to the Uk (lol I don’t plan to).
Travel history : 9 European countries Rejections: 1 US visa in 2016 (due to my stupidity lol, I didn’t know what “residence” meant)
Docs submitted: - POF - LOE (with UK residence permit, registry marriage cert, Ielts result (optional), Change of name affidavit, degree certs, professional certifications, resume (I couldn’t fit it in the IMM doc). In my LOE, i wrote an explanation for proof of fund, proof of ties, reason for study (this is extremely important as it’s the 3 things you’re marked on). - The IMMs that applied to me. - Visa stamps on current intl passport. - screenshot of email from Uni confirming they didn’t want any instalment towards my tuition. - Upfront med cert - Letter for internship (coop work permit) - Conditional Offer letter (they were waiting for my transcripts) Congratulations. Simple documents and not those intimidating bulky documents some people supplied. Sorry which school did you get admission? |

babineli: I’m thinking of self sponsorship, I just started POF for month of February while im thinking of printing out bank statement between February- April which is 3months bank statement instead of 4months. Is it advisable to print out 4months. If I print out 4months bank statement I will have to submit my application by June. I’m not sure if a decision will be made before August 4th because I’m expected to submit my visa status to my school on or before august 4th. So I’m really confused at this point. I need help. In addition the money that was credited in my account was the money I got from my car that I sold. This money is my personal money, do I still have to wait for 4months to prove that the money is my personal money on there’s another way I can go about it so I can submit my application earlier. Thanks For proper guidance, I think you need to tell how much you have and how many years program you are going for. The money has to stay in the account and you have to give evidence of transaction for lump sum. Feb to may is 4 months which is the standard. PPR can/may also come before August based on the fast timelines we are seeing. All the best |

Shayo5: hi, I showed my salary account which did not have much( i sent it to match my payslips), my other account had 3M then my husbands account had about 8M.
it was just study permit application without SOWP
try to calculate your school fees + living expenses+ flight/miscelleneous expenses in CAD that should give your a rough estimate of what you should present , if you can add a little more to let the VO know you will be comfortable even if you do not get a job.
Some people have presented POF with a lot of money and still get denied, I was denied the first time on the basis of insufficient funds and i reapplied with the same accounts and it was eventually approved. I only focused on the proof of funds part of my SOP, gave a more detailed breakdown of the funds available and the source, added supporting letter from my husband proof of ID and employment.
Also add a list of the documents your are uploading for each section, it lets the VO know what he/she is looking at Thank you so much sis. Is it a one year program? Please I will like to connect with you through your email if you don't mind. I'm a female. Thanks a lot. |

Heritagebib: @bullstriker @ketima @lekiboboe @technix @Anon123 @Makano These gurus can guide you too. Marketing is good. If you take your time to read backwards, you will see a lot of schools people are getting admission to. Also watch YouTube videos on schools and colleges in Canada and you will get more information. Remember that a one year program will give a one year Post graduate work permit which most times, the one is short to process permit residency and a 2 years program gives you 3 years PGWP. Research more and read more on nairaland. You won't miss road. You may not need an agent if you do more research. Blessings |

Seems you applied yourself.
Reading about failures by Visa agents and requests for another 1,000 CAD to reapply for the visa is somehow discouraging.
Can i apply for study permit myself?
Can someone kindly assist me with the process.
I already paid 1st semester tuition deposit. I will pay 2nd semester with form A next week.
I want to commence study permit application but confused whether to use an agent (Visa agent license bY IRCC) or the admission consult team that helped me secure the admission. or do it myself.
If anyone will be willing to assist me through the process, kindly indicate or send me a mail legithustlingbabe@gmail.com. The last 2 people with testimonials of PPR said they are willing to assist anyone as a way of giving back to the platform. Why not contact them? Anyone is no one. |

Ucy12: Hi! Church marriage certificate may normally not be acceptable for such administrative purposes. I advise you go to the registry and make enquiries. Explain the situation and see if there's an option. If there's a possibility of getting you both married in court, but using the date on your church marriage certificate, that'll be pretty good for you. Just go explain and ask if the
