The above is an instruction allah supposedly gave mohammed to the ummah; it is not a prophecy. That allah said ‘thou shall not kill’ doesn’t mean Muslims/people are not killing themselves. There is a different between instruction and a prophecy. The quranic verse you provided was an admonition/instruction/advice and never a prophetic statement.

Mohammed was prophesying her when he said:

My ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamā’ah.” It was said, “And who are they, O Allah’s Messenger?”He responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today.”

Read the ayah you provide and reconcile it with the hadith above. I can’t be teaching you Islam.

The hadith above is very clear and also prophetic; the prophesy which is already manifesting among the ummah. The last time I checked the sunnis are still calling the Ahmadiyyas and the shia kuffar. And note, Pakistan made it a criminal offense to belong to the Ahmadiyyas sect. I know you want muslims to be united but the opposite is the case.

This was a position I used to hold.
A Muslim is anyone that strives to fulfill the 5 pillars.
Holds the shahada,
Prays the 5 daily prayers,
Fasts Ramadan,
Goes for pilgrimage/ hajj,
Pays zakkat.

Though, this would in turn mean they are all Muslims, that are refusing to acknowledge the other groups as Muslims as well.
But I blame this on founders of the religion, with the hadith that says the religion will split into 73 sects, and only one is the true sect and will make paradise.
Now every group wants to be, and believes they are the "True" Muslims that will make heaven and everyone else is waisting their time and are bound for Jahannam.
