Already said it before buying Nigeria used hybrid can drain your pocket and make you spend a lot. Three major components in used hybrid cars that are always faulty and make the owner to sell 1.HV battery 2.ABS 3.Inverter These are the components to look out for and do your bargain very well. In the next post I am going to analyze each component and how to manage them 1 Like

Troubleshooting P0AA6 got a call from another workshop in the same city with me,they have been trying to solve this particular DTC P0AA6 The P0AA6 fault code indicates a Hybrid Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault, commonly seen in hybrid and electric vehicles. It simply means there is short circuit between high voltage and low voltage ( HV battery and 12v) How to solve this This issue always associated with the following components 1.HV battery : leakages from NIMH batteries can cause this ,very common 2.AC compressor -Faulty AC compressor can trigger the code common too 3.Inverter ,non too common but we can't rule it out faulty inverter can cause this if the above solutions failed, troubleshooting the inverter and continuity test the wiring ,gave us solution.

Buying Nigeria used hybrid or foreign used one. What are the things to look for? Foreign used Hybrid Electric vehicles are still the best if you can afford it. There is nothing much to worry about apart from understanding the principles of operation and technician that will handle it Major thing that normally happen first is faulty ABS, Hybrid Cars ABS are Electric and always energized when door is Open.When you take it for repairs,always disconnect negative terminal of 12v battery whenever you visit a workshop to work on the break or change break pad. Naija used cars are always sold with problems sometimes. Major things 1.ABS 2.HV battery 3.inverter/converter assembly 4.inverter coolant pump The ABS and HV battery are easy to detect physically but inverter/converter assembly requires diagnostic machine to troubleshoot. 1 Like |

When parking your hybrid car for a longer time, always remove the service plug to avoid battery NIMH batteries discharging is high when park without using. Avoid direct sunlight on your car too park under a shade. 1 Like

Multiple misfiring sometimes can frustrate hybrid cars owner do wrong diagnostic. When it happens,the engine vibrate and do as if the transmission is bad. How to solve multiple misfiring P0300 indicate random misfiring P0301 indicate cylinder 1 is misfiring P0302 indicate cylinder 2 is misfiring P303 indicate cylinder 3 is misfiring P304. Indicate cylinder 4 misfiring Plugs, coils,bad injectors and compression issues can cause this. Make sure you get original spark plugs Hybrid cars are selective when it comes to plugs and coil Using data stream to monitor each cylinder is the best to tackle this issues

Water ingress in RX400, causing voltage isolation fault DTC POAA6.This is mostly caused by rain water from the open roof.Once you noticed your car floor rug is becoming wet,there is a leakage.
