AutoElectNG: Picture below explains my background.
I have been privileged to associate with people who ordinarily I would have no access to except that they come from a culture of sharing knowledge...to give just one example, how easy is it to have access to the wealth of knowledge and experience of a NASA trained scientist (20 year veteran) and automotive aficionado who selflessly explained concepts I had difficulty grasping until it made sense to me?
Until the value of teamwork and knowledge sharing is valued here as it is valued over there...progress will be difficult.
The other part of my background is that my dad used to tell me if you understand it, then explain it to me in your own words, not the words of the text you claim to have understood.
When I am not willing to burn brain cycles to explain in my own words, I find a text that appropriately explains the concept I want to pass on and provide appropriate attribution Simple fact.well done.I have been trying to reach you on your WhatsApp number.pls kindly send it. |

AutoElectNG: Would you trade it for an equivalent Toyota with similar engine size?
So you are saying in effect that it is not impossible.
Would you say that VW vehicles are troublesome? And should be avoided at all costs?
I expect to update on or before Saturday.
Car owner comes online towards 11PM daily, he came online briefly this afternoon.
I hope I can get information that will enable me move this to the end of this phase when he comes online in a few minutes. incomparable VW require dexterity and details when working, once abused it required expert to fix not a car u can bypass anything anyhow.Lack of expert and impatient make it look more complex. |

AutoElectNG: We need to take measurements between the ECU (see Picture One which is courtesy of http://uk-mkivs.net) and the Throttle Position Sensor TP (G79)/Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor APP (G185) 6 pin electrical harness connector terminals (Picture Two).
We need to compare voltage readings with (Picture Three which is courtesy of http://uk-mkivs.net)
We will also need to take some resistance readings.
When we have that information, we can conclude the diagnosis phase of this case and move into the remediation phase. Great work and more kudos you.I had similar experience on 2001 V6 vw passat NO RESPONSE FROM THE THROTTLE WHEN ACCELERATE ,the picture u provided almost have the same rating anyway I solved the problem with the help of multimeter and alldata also I drive vw passat 1.8T. THE THROTTLE PEDAL SENSOR HAS SIX WIRES.RESISTANCE AND CONTINUITY TEST SOLVED THE ISSUES (OPEN CIRCUIT) Troubleshooting VAG products not an easy job. Thanks for the pic and link. Still following and waiting for update. |

AutoElectNG: Most Toyota's since 2005 are CAN-BUS enabled...that is the future of intra-vehicle-networking.
While simple vehicles will make do with two CAN buses...that is to say engine and safety systems on the one hand, and body controls and what have you for the second, complex vehicles will have one CAN bus for every vehicle module installed, as a consequence of having so many CAN buses such vehicles will also need need a CAN BUS gateway controller.
This is one of the reasons why mechanics make a lot of noise about Peugeot being delicate, communication between vehicle modules is no longer via the K line but via the CAN BUS.
Take home point: CAN BUS is here to stay! Upgrade or become irrelevant.
Just as internet speeds have increased from 2G to 3G to 4G and 5G is being tested, and no one wants to use a 2G device today so the capacity for carrying traffic to and fro vehicle modules had to increase and that gave birth to the CAN BUS.
More about K-line protocol (which was used before CAN BUS) https://www.kunbus.com/k-line.html
Why vehicles had to adopt CAN BUS: https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/a7386/how-it-works-the-computer-inside-your-car/ simple fact and bitter truth.CAN BUS is here to stay.I love this "upgrade or be irrelevant "kudos to u bro. |

AutoElectNG: P1612: Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-1) Incorrect coding
There is a mismatch between the ECU in the car and the model of car that the ECU was meant to control
OR
The logic in the ECU is at variance with the logic for controlling this car and its associated modules
AND
The ECU has detected this
SO
we need to introduce/adapt this ECU to the vehicle and its modules.
TO DO THIS
will involve virginizing the ECU i.e., ridding the ECU of all the details linking it to the former vehicle it was controlling, call it a new ECU inside an old ECU body, so that it becomes software speaking and not hardware speaking, a brand new ECU...a blank slate sort of...ready, willing, able to be programmed with the details of the vehicle it will now be controlling.
In very plain language, the replacement ECU still contains the VIN of a 2002 VW Passat but it is installed in a 2004 VW Bora/Jetta.
Unlike a Bora/Jetta and a Gold which are remarkably similar, a Bora/Jetta is a very different animal from a Passat and by extension, the logic that runs one cannot run the other, hence the need to synchronize the ECU's logic with the vehicle it is installed in - in tech speak, programming or tuning the ECU. what about ECU adaptation?will that work? |

OrthoDude: Hi guys. I need some guidance. I want to buy a Camry (2008 - 2010), and I have seen this Camry Hybrid that I think would do. A friend however has tried to dissuade me from getting a hybrid, stating that once the battery goes bad the car would not work until it's replaced, and that the batt is really expensive. What do you guys think? Toyota camry hybrid car is one of the easiest car to maintain and is durable,Although the battery is a bit expensive but not necessary to change all when it break down, major causes of the battery breaking is due to heat or poor ventilation. All you need is to get someone who have experience in it with good diagnostic scanner. |

GAZZUZZ: The OP is a honmusa praise singer.
He bought an abused vehicle, and sadly the technician was using standard practices to approach the problem.
Problems like Nigerian abuse require a lot of decazeemization to be approached the right way. If you noticed at the end of the day, the charging fault was fixed by a kazeem What a good research. Have a good day. |
