2006 civic hybrid just brought few days, customer complains about 12v always run down and the car will not start next day.
We troubleshoot and discover faulty DC-DC Converter is bad, remember hybrid has no alternator.On take off performance I give it civic hybrid compare Prius.When it comes sleek, luxury and fuel economy.I will give to Prius.

Depends on the price, bought Nigeria used almost 4years ago and I used it for mobile workshop,check the high voltage battery strength,ABS light indicator on the instrument cluster.If the battery is ok,you can go for it.Better still run a full diagnostic scan on the car.

My Honda Civic 2009 not starting but engine rolls.
We noticed every other icons or lights on the dashboard comes up except The BATTERY LIGHT.

The battery light doesn't ON when ignition is turn on.hence,the car won't start.

My electrician has done everything possible but still not working.

The rewire Said car doesn't shock at all and fuel doesn't get to nozzlesn or lights on the dashboard came up except The BATTERY LIGHT.


What should we do?

Note: we have scanned it but The machine couldn't find any fault on the

car.The battery light is supply via PCM,Let him check PCM relay under the hood close to the battery side ,you may have a faulty PCM.

Good car if you can maintain it,it has additional lithium ion battery to drive the car EV mode.

2004-2009 Toyota Prius is a good but I don't think you can direct tokunbo at 3m but 3.2m you should be able to get one.The second generation Prius(2004-2009)are durable and rugged with good fuel economic, getting a foreign used will be more reliable in maintenance.Honda civic hybrid is not bad as well I think you should be able to get that @3M but I will advice you go for Prius.Regards

My favourite hybrid car, second generation Toyota Prius regretted selling it out the fuel economy is superb, hybrid battery is easy to maintain.

Good afternoon my good people pls I'm having issue with my Honda Civic 06 after driving for like 1hour yesterday I parked the car and after like 30mins so I got to the car and it refused to start my rewire did everything ( changed the spark plugs,check the fuel pump,check the entire fuel line and said all is fine and that it should start we ran a scan and we got P2185 he suggested we get the sensor and also the shocking sensor which I did today and still the car doesn't start.. pls has anyone gone through this kind of issue on the same car or what do you think could be the issue. Pls help..

P2185 refers to coolant temperature sensor,you still need to run a proper diagnosis.If he uses scanner tell him to read Engine RPM via datastream(livedata) to confirm if the crankshaft position sensor is reading,if it is reading let him confirm if there is ignition (black&white wire) and ground (black wire)voltage on the COP(coil).The ignition wire is supply by a relay by underhood fusebox
If your crankshaft position sensor (RPM) is not reading then let him check the wiring,it should be 3wires sensor positive,ground and signal wire.

I am not financial buoyant to get a comprehensive insurance and a tracker for now, thus, the reason I am thinking of getting a rewire to fix a security.

But, if you feels it's not the best way to go, so be it.

A good tracker should be around 40,000naira, those after market security are not really reliable, after a while they will start misbehaving and stop the car in an unpleasant place.

P3016 and P3017 solved,2009 Camry hybrid with constant hybrid blower blowing high,run a scan with DTC P0A80,P3016 and 3017 voltage was carried out on all the modules (34pcs) same voltages at 7.75v later run a load test and discovered block 6 and 7 can't withstand it, change the batteries and reconditioned then later balanced all the batteries together by connecting them in parallel with busbars like 24hrs.
The car drives great and fuel mileage look better.

I bought a 2013 RAV4 in November 2022 that seems to have come with a few spiritual problems.

The seller assured me that it was non-accidented. Unfortunately, network was slow so I couldn't run a VIN check at that moment and I had inspected and test-driven the car, it seemed like a sweet deal so I paid.

The only issue observed was Hazard Light wasn't working although the "trafficators" were fine. Seemed negligible.

After taking full ownership, to rectify the Hazard Light issue, the hazard and clock switch was changed. That didn't work. BCM was changed. That too didn't work. Finally, the Instrument Cluster was changed alongside the hazard. (New instrument cluster wasn't reading MPG. Currently on last drive, wasn't reading speedometer, so I think they brought a slightly incompatible one and needs replacement)

Next observation was the battery draining after about 2 - 3 days of not starting the car. Multiple people have tried to trace the parasitic draw. Relays have been changed. BCM was changed and that increased staying power to 4 - 5 days. Different new batteries have been tried, all drained, while the battery that came with the car didn't drain in other cars.

Of course, I found out that the car was accidented. Passenger side fender and windscreen impacted. Nothing critical, but airbags deployed. I believe the steering wheel and dash airbag was successfully replaced.

I have researched a lot on this and feel some possible causes of the drain are:
- airbag/crash history
- faulty central lock
- faulty boot lock (common in similar cases)
- alternator diode

Please can our in-house seniors lend some thought towards a permanent diagnosis and fix? I am yet to register the car just in case there is a fight to be had with the seller. Car is in Ejigbo. Thanks.

someone with good multimeter knowledge will solve the problem.
Parasitic draining is a bit complex with patience from the technician and car owner.What I do most in this case,I attached multimeter to the battery terminals(+&-) and close all the car doors then watch voltage drop in the multimeter,I focused on relays and fuses in engine bay first before proceed to inner fuse box(BCM) and others,sometimes heater relay is major culprit (yours might be different) and third party device installation .
I unplugged most modules untill I noticed no quick voltage drop on multimeter.

my 2008 toyota camry immobilizer was diagnosed damaged when my car wouldn't start. i was advised to do a bypass by converting my brainbox to freecode. it actually worked. the car began to start but whenever its hot, it will be misbehaving. it wont run slow in traffic and will eventually trigger off by itself.
if i remove the key, it will not start again until i leave the ignition on ,remove the cap of the brainbox and slot it back, then crank it to start again. very frustrating.
I have changed brain box 2times now and Its still same I have a feeling its more than the brainbox.
Gurus in d house, kindly advise pls.

By passing 2008 Toyota Camry is a mistake,find a good Technician to return back to factory settings and solve the problem.
It might involves, immobilizer located close to evaporator (the dashboard needs to be removed)Key ring on the key cylinder and the the chip inside your key.Does your key blink when this problem occur?

Nearly got lost when trying to dismantle the HV battery,trust me we were able to dismantle the HV battery (6hrs job)

The HV battery looks quite different from RX400 and RX450 but same NIMH battery with voltage rate of 288V with 20pcs each voltage is about 14.4v.

call this guyz,I have bought pump from him before if he can't get in Lagos,I have one I bought from eBay but it is around 170k,if that guy have it will be cheaper.

Most of the newer version of hybrid (Prius 2010 upward,Camry 2012 upward) comes with Electric water pump.The major issues with this it fails occasionally if proper diagnostic is not carry out.
Personal opinion to avoid breakdown of Electric water pump;
Use the right coolant
Always confirm your fan is working
Thermostat is not blocked
Alway look out for your temperature gauge if it is reading high.
Failure to this can result
To top gasket burn out.

As the thing was going off it showed the following red signs on the dashboard

Most of the newer Hyundai and Kia car uses ECU to supply negative to the Kickstarter .if the negative is not coming possibly to the Kickstarter relay then it is brainbox,u need to run a comprehensive diagnostic before conclusion. let them check the fuse, Kickstarter relay and confirm if the ECU(brainbox) receive power.

Mine, does not start rolling until maybe 3min after I start engine for the day or when the engine is still cold.
Recently, the fans won't start until I on the AC and it's causing overheating on the engine.
What is the normal working condition of the fans and can I run it direct?

Nope don't that,the fault can be trace.Run a scan and look for a good electrician to troubleshoot.I suspect faulty CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor)
