I'm buying a Nigeria used camry hybrid muscle tomorrow and I'm going with an engineer but I'll like to know things to watch out for and how to detect if the battery is in good shape?

This will be my first hybrid car and I hope I'm making the right call

Good decision depends on the price you are bargain
1.ABS light on the dashboard,check if they have blank it or showing constantly
2.I believe the person you are going with has a scanner to confirm the status of the battery via data stream. HV battery and ABS are the major issues on 2007 Camry hybrid.Mine is 7years and i never regret it. Battery is expensive around 700k I pray that one is ok.Run a comprehensive scan and send the codes.
3.confirm if the inverter pump is running

yes it is,run a diagnostic check on it.mostly on the hybrid battery.

I am thinking of getting a 2010 Honda insight EX what does the house think about the car and the likely issues I should watch out for. It's Nigerian used tho direct from the owner and we'll maintained I think

2010 Honda insight is second generation hybrid for Honda with an improved design and output,a parallel hybrid system from the review is even better than civic,if well maintained,you can go for it.

When the you close the car door and locked does your security (red) light blink or flash?when you on the ignition key does it stay solid and steadily on.if it stays solid that mean there is an issue with your immobilizer attached the to the key ring and if it does not blink when u lock the vehicle there is a problem with the immobiliser.I will suggest more troubleshooting cos sometimes it can be fuse from the fuse box.The key immobiliser are prone to issues.

Traces of water inside the contactor relay,it was open and clean left it with direct sunlight to dry any water trapped.It was fixed back and test drive no more P0AA6

P0AA6 Toyota Code - Hybrid Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault,got a call from a lady she drives first generation Highlander hybrid 06model, vehicle refuse to start after she went to market.We ran a scan and found the above code.cleared the code and it starts drove down to office for more troubleshooting and after packing the car refuse to start until u cleared the code or remove auxiliary battery terminal.
To get access to HV battery your have to remove the rear seat with 14 wrench,on the floor at the rear seat,I discovered water ingress

I am having an issue with my charging system. My battery does go beyond 12.70 when car is on, thus I think the alternator is not charging the battery but when I put on Acc and head light , it begins to charge . The multimeter reads 13-14 but when I off the loads, it reduces to 12.6. Sometimes the car just don’t start again. What can be the issue pls. Rewire tested alternator to be okay and battery isn’t up to 1 year. Thanks

Look like more of wiring issues confirm the wire from the alternator to the battery, sometimes with high resistance or short to ground they can display such fault.

I earlier scanned the car and this was what the scanner showed, I don’t know if it’s my constant use of AC these past few days that caused the battery to develop issue

There is a component inside the battery pack but they don't sell it alone,you have to change the total pack budget 300k or thereabouts

there is an issue with your DC-DC not working properly on your dashboard do you notice any red battery light?get a multimeter confirm the 12v battery if it is charging properly.

P0AA6 in 2008 Toyota Camry hybrid
What is P0AA6 hybrid battery voltage isolation fault?The high voltage system is secluded from the low voltage system and the vehicle's frame.
Forget the long grammar,I solved this issue by probing multimeter negative and positive probes via continuity.I noticed HV battery casing and positive terminal short circuit,after opening the casing I discovered leakages from one of the battery.

My Kia Optima Turbo GDI has recently developed a knocking sound. I took it to a mechanic for inspection, and it was confirmed that the filter leading to the cylinder was blocked. Consequently, I had the cylinder and camshaft replaced. However, since then, my car has not been functioning properly. It can't accelerate beyond 40, and I have to turn off the car and restart it to get it moving again. Additionally, if I go beyond 30, the car stops. The car has been scanned, and the turbo has been checked. I was told the turbo is okay, but the car still won't accelerate beyond that limit. This issue has persisted for the past week.

if the camshaft is not the same,it can give similar fault.They need to look at it and compare together

Yesterday, I entered water with my Camry 08 and when I came out I noticed it was misfiring and then after some driving it stopped moving forward but can reverse, I had to park it.

I went to pick it up this morning it was still misfiring and I was able to move forward say 2km it stopping moving forward again. Pls how do I fix this.

I just scanned it now and I got a P0031 error code and I tried googles seems like an issue with my O2 sensor, what’s the best way to fix this ans what are the things I should look out for when the mechanic is fixing it.

looks like multiple misfires look for a good Technician,let him monitor the misfiring via Data stream

The inverter used in hybrid cars required coolant for cooling the system,a white plastic attached to the inverter act as reservoir there also electric water pump.The water pump plays a vital role for coolant circulation, checking the white plastic attached to the inverter regularly is very important and you notice coolant movement or bubbling.
Failure of water pump will damage the inverter.

First generation hybrid Lexus RX400 and Highlander hybrid share the same powetrain only body differ.

I don't really know but I noticed the hijet is much in town so it is possible.If it is the different won't be much.

Suzuki or hijet depends on your choice,but it seems people prefer hijet in Calabar, although I have Suzuki (in Calabar) with automatic transmission.I gave it out last month to a driver.both Suzuki and hijet have spare parts available.
