Even if the news is truth, Moghalu needs a platform & that's what it required to get in to the limelight of politicking. Anyway Moghalu gets my vote come 2019 |
Recently, a short video about a vulnerable 5 years old boy, Taju went viral on social media. Taju has become a suggested keyword on YouTube search, which would pop at you immediately you typed the first-two letters of Taju. Honestly, I watched the video and I laughed, which is the major goal of whoever posted the shameful video. On the other hand, I asked myself if that’s the best… But thanks to those sensible Nigeria who planned to offer Taju a lifeline. Now allow me to share with you the unlaughable part of Taju’s Video and you will understand the insensitivity part of an average Nigeria who are fortunate to have camera phones but have poor understanding about Citizen Journalism/Social Media Reporting. Who’s TAJU? (From the Video) • Vulnerable 5 years Old boy born by illiterate parents • Lacks proper parenting/parental care • Deprived of formal education • Living in a rural/local part of S/W in Nigeria. • Growing up in an area dominated by low educated people, artisans, commercial motorcycle operators • Exposed to illicit drink sellers, Local herbs joint, motor-park tout, drug addict and users • On the positive side, Taju sound smart and all he need is equal right and access to good education However, the following views are what I found offensive to the vulnerability situation of TAJU: • Identifying and showing of minor “5Years old” is against the ethics of citizen journalism. • Taking advantage and abuse of his pitiable condition in his impressionable age is so distasteful • Cursing the boy as “OLORI BUu” (an unfortunate child) is far fetch from what any sensible and caring parent will take lightly from anyone in an ideal society. • Promoting and suggesting illicit drugs to the boy is tantamount to child abuse “S’o maa n fa skong?” (Do you smoke skong). Suggestions • Let us endeavor to discourage such practice in our society • Volunteer teach (at least for one hour) or sponsor some of these vulnerable children within your locality. • Let us hold our representatives accountable for qualitative education in our country PS: Every child deserve equal chance and dehumanizing one another is not healthy

Source: TheCable Omoyele Sowore, publisher, Sahara Reporters, says there is no more corruption in Nigeria because there is nothing else to steal. Sowore said this in his presentation at the Tracking Faulty Towers workshop which held at the University of Kent, London. He jocularly said President Muhammadu Buhari became sick as a result of the money stolen in Nigeria. Sowore expressed delight that Nigeria is no longer among the ten most corrupt countries. “There is no corruption in Nigeria anymore because there is nothing else to steal and loot,” he said. “When Buhari saw how much has been looted, he became sick… We are happy that Nigeria is no longer among the ten top countries in the world.” He said corruption thrives in Nigeria because of the weak institutions and compared Nigeria’s anti-corruption mechanisms with that of more developed countries. Sowore also said western countries accepting loot from Nigeria should be blacklisted. “Western countries accepting Nigeria and other countries stolen money should be the ones tagged corrupt,” he said. “In my village, the custodian of stolen things is seen as the main criminal… People cannot steal in western countries because where to keep the stolen money is a challenge. “The Western world made their system very difficult to steal and loot money.” Workshop He also commended Buhari for putting in place strict measures to check corruption. “Transferring money from abroad to Nigeria has a limit and the charges are high but in Nigeria, we don’t have such until Buhari came into power,” he said. “We have the duty to challenge our leaders and the primitive accumulation of wealth Nigeria. “We need a serious re-orientation programme for the youth on the belief of quick wealth accumulation through corruption and crime. We need to let them know that the only way is through honest means and hard work.” Bolaji Owanasoye, executive secretary of the presidential advisory committee against corruption (PACAC), also admitted that Nigeria is improving in its fight against “the infamous tag”. “I am very happy to read recently that Nigeria is not among the top ten corrupt countries in the world,” Owanasoye said. “That is an improvement that shows something is being done right to fight corruption and crime in the country.” He commended the current administration for introducing the whistleblowing policy and challenged the citizens to take up the task of reporting corruption if the policy ends up being reversed. “Nigeria whistleblowing policy is celebrated because of reward attached to it but if revoked tomorrow, citizens should still be devoted to report corruption and crimes,” he said. “A pervasive and endemic culture of silence which allows corruption and sin to thrive is one of the challenges the Nigeria whistle blower policy face. “The culture of acquiescence which makes corruption appear legitimate is also a challenge we have in Nigeria. “Nigerians have both moral and legal duties to report crime and corruption as it enhances rule of law and peace of security of society. “The inability to improve rule of law and governance in a weak state reinforces underdevelopment and vice-versa. “When a state demonstrates the political will to hold wrongdoers accountable and creates a dependable disclosure frame work the citizens will see it as a duty to report crime and corruption without fear or prejudice.” Source: The cable |

In the gospel of Saint Matthew 28:5-6, the response of the angel to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary was “HE IS NOT HERE”. When you seek for an item in a wrong place, there is a greater possibility that the item will not be found and you will be disappointed. This Easter, are you seeking for Jesus in the wrong place? One of the major reason why people look out for things in the wrong location, is confusion. The challenging situation of our immediate environment is quite confusing to the extent that people go about doing things with a wrong approach. Keeping to instruction is very key in life. When you fail to follow the instructions that was laid down by Christ, you risk the throbbing of disappointment. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary’s journey to the tomb of Jesus on an Easter day was fruitless because they fail to keep the instruction of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:6). Therefore, if you don’t want to be disappointed, seek for Christ where he can be found. Easter symbolizes resurrection. To resurrect is to be revived, to be restored, to be renewed and to reappear. Indeed is Easter is a good period to celebrate and commemorate the love of Christ unlike some who believe otherwise. Easter is a pointer to the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today we celebrate Easter as a result of Chris t's resurrection, he resurrected because death cannot hold him captive. He resurrected because there’s more to being alive than to be dead. He resurrected because only the living can glorify God. From time immemorial the devil never wants you to rejoice nor celebrate, he employs CONFUSION STRATEGY to rob God’s children of their inheritance in Christ. If you allow yourself to be victim of his strategy, there is every tendency that you will be disappointed. Are you looking for Jesus where he is not? I am sorry to say… “HE IS NOT HERE” Jesus will not be found where you are violating God’s command Jesus will not be found where you are angry Jesus will not be found where you are fighting Jesus will not be found where you are complaining This Easter, you have to seek for Christ and you have to seek him in the right way. Seek for Christ in giving and sharing with the less fortunate, seek for Christ with thanksgiving as an appreciation for his sacrificial death, seek for Christ by sharing his goodwill messages to the lost world, seek for Christ by re dedicating yourself to his service, seek for Christ by recommitting yourself to growth and the development of God’s work. P:S : Seek for Christ where he can be found. Twitt your comments & opinion @oluwalomuyiwa

Since time immemorial, Christmas has been the season of spreading good cheer, of spending time with families and of sharing, caring and giving. (Christmas is an annual Christian festival celebrating Christ’s birth). As the year comes to an end and we move toward another Christmas season, a lot of people are tend to redefine the true meaning of Christmas as a result of the current challenging economic situation of the country. Christmas is AWESOME. People around the world seem to be expectant and excited about Christmas holiday but to some, they live in fear and it scared hell out of them. Here today, I will be delighted to encourage you, not renege your commitment to the true meaning of Christmas and as well share with you some simple ways to make this Christmas more meaningful to people around you, even in hardtimes. Here they are: 1. Invite people to attend free Christmas events/programme: during this period, there will be a whole lot of free events where people’s lives will be touched physically, materially, financially, emotionally and spiritually. All you need to do is just to be on alert for information, be resourceful and ensure there attendance. It will surprise you how meaningful that can be. 2. Be committed to give a creative hearty gift to just one person: (something homemade) instead of busting your budget or depleting your life savings. “Everybody need something” 3.Send message to people: telling people how much you care and appreciate them as you wish them a merry Christmas via bulk sms or Whatsapp message goes a long way in making their Christmas more meaningful. 4. Attend Christmas Carol/End of the year party: going for carol is fun and cheap as it promise to lift your spirit and bless your soul. 5.Volunteer: going to IDP camps might be farfetched but you can volunteer to help paint or clean an elderly citizen’s home, volunteer in a local church outreach, at homeless shelter or food bank. 6.Use Christmas to connect with people from far and near, strengthen bonds, watch movies, Laugh, Talk, love #P.S: Make doing a good deed everyday from this reading to the end of the year an annual part of your Christmas tradition. Friend, it is not out of place to be asked WHO YOU HELP; it might just be an avenue to remind you that you are created to be a helper of destiny. When I was eight, little did I know that my mother was edging and helping my destiny to be educated, she painted a particular portion of the wall in our house as blackboard for me to write and learn how to spell. Today I realized that it is just my destiny to be educated. Her unflinching support and every other assistance were instrumental to the fulfillment of my educational achievement. Destiny in simple terms is God’s purpose for your life. It is appointed or ordained future. Destiny is what God predetermined for you to be and to become his divine will. – David Wilkerson In the book of Gen. 27:1-10, you will appreciate the fact that “it takes somebody to talk to someone to do something for somebody.” That is why the role of Rebekah as a destiny helper can never be over-emphasized in the fulfillment of Jacob’s God’s given destiny. One of the reasons why people are not fulfilling their God’s given destiny has been associated with ignorance and failure to recognize the role of their helpers of destiny. Therefore, it is my delight to share with you some basic principles you can use to identify your helpers of destiny and those things, which are your destiny as a child of God. Here are they: Privileged to Helpful Information: “God will never do a thing without revealing it to his servant” therefore, take note of friends and folks with helpful advice, hints, directions, messages and information that connects to the top. “Information is powerful” and helpers of destiny are your best chance of getting it. Read Gen 25:22 Committed to your Success: to be committed to someone success involves making promises and standing by the decision, no matter what. Helpers of destiny are people that are either emotionally or intellectually bound to your course of action with a trait of sincere and fixity of purpose to your success, hold them close. It’s indeed a good quality to watch out for in people. Read 1Sam 20:2-42 Positioned to take Risk with you: to take risk means an act or fact of doing something that involves danger or risk in order to achieve a goal. People in this group are sometimes influential, skilled, and powerfully connected in the corridor of power but they are preserved to help you fulfill destiny by giving you chance to prove your worth. They take risk with you by disregarding protocols for you to come to limelight. Read Dan 1:3-11 Destiny Helpers Add Value: John Wooden often said, “Don’t tell me what you’re going to do—show me.” to add value involves constant lookout for spontaneous ways to help others. It is an action that don’t have to be big or expensive; small meaningful actions can make a big difference. To add value is an intentional acts of kindness and to live with intentionality. Therefore, if there's anyone around you who exhibit this kind of virtue, Note, such a person is a helper of destiny. Read Luke 7:36-50 As a child of God, his plan for you is good and not evil therefore, the following are your destiny in Christ: Healing – 1Pet 2:24 Divine Health – Exo 15:26 Deliverance – John 8:32 Protection - Psalm 91:5-8 Security – Psalm 23:5 Anointing - Psalm 23:5 Long-life - Psalm 91:16 Honor - Psalm 91:15 Joy - Psalm 16:11 peace – John 14:27 abundance – Deut 28:11-12 promotion - Deut 28:11-13 fruitfulness – John 15:5 heaven – John 14:1-3 P:S : Prayerfully discover your helpers of destiny and endeavor not to irritate them. |

I asked a Calabar native if he is in support of what NDA embarked on, he said yes. I asked again between Rivers and Calabar which is more beautiful and peaceful, I guess u know the answer. Where would you love to go and rest when you are tired of Lagos, he said Calabar. Is Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers not from the same Niger Delta? Why have they not gone to blow up pipes in those two areas? My prayer is that at the end, may the people of Delta State and Rivers not become IDPs in Uyo and Calabar |
Tinubu's response over the comment of Dr. Ibe Kachukwu flooded the pages of newspaper earlier today. This subject matter has metamorphosed into public debate, some are for while there will always be against. Quickly, I read the so called Jagaban's comment and I can only conclude that there are some iota of activism left in the APC' National Leader. It's as if am holding brief for Jagaban in the above statement. NO! Am only giving him benefit of doubt, putting forward who he was during the ancient days of NADECO, his roles and impact. I remembered his return to Nigeria, he started out as lonely ranger in politics. He took over the envious sit of authority in Lagos, Nigeria. Gradually he was reckoned with in the south west and the rest of the story we all know. This is to bring us back to the start, Tinubu's comment is borne out of who he was; an activist, a freedom fighter, a progessive, public commentator, pro masses and a change agent. On the other hand, I see Tinubu doing the Job of the Public Affairs NNPC who should have been handling how the Minister relate with the Public in a time like this. The minister as a technocrat should be forgiven for his misguided comment but should allow the expert in communication do the talking for him while facing technical challenge. As stated by Jagaban, "Tinubu said the NNPC boss must talk to them (Nigeria)in a way that they believe he seeks their best interest and understands the hardship weighing upon them. “He must ask them (Nigeria) to work with him and, perhaps, to endure a bit longer but with the knowledge that he is working to resolve this matter as fast as he can and as permanently as possible; that he is dedicated to the position that once these current lines are gone, never again shall they reappear, as long as he has any influence in the matter. All what Tinubu was trying to do was to point out how the Minister should talk to the Masses. In conclusion, Tinubu was once a human & a social activist and a learned PR person but I think the kingly life of all his achievement and his personal interest in politics has overshadowed what he use to stand for compare to now.
