Ijogz K: Even Jesus supports attending to immediate needs of people, even if it means skipping church service, tithes and any oda religious stuffs.

where in the Bible did Jesus suggest that?...in place of tithing?

You will notice it's only when it comes to tithe that all these verses from OLD TESTAMENT are pull up. I am doing a comprehensive teachings on tithe and will take up to 2 months or more to finish it here on NL considering questions and answers. It's all about using the bible to explain the bible and interpreting the bible in CONTEXT.

Stone your rebellious sons to death, they will tell you we are under the grace and not under the Law so we cannot do that anymore. Why is it ONLY tithe they STILL STICK to in the Old Testament? Why? But the tithe teachers will never let you see or want you to see this verse in Deuteronomy 14:21-29 nkjv but am not quoting all here, you can read for yourself:

v22: "You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.

v23: "And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

The biblical tithe as you can see IF TRULY NEEDS TO BE PRACTICED SHOULD BE FROM FARM PRODUCE NOT MONEY TITHE. MONEY EXISTED IN THOSE DAYS BUT GOD NEVER ASKED HIS PEOPLE TO TITHE MONEY. GOD IS SPECIFIC WHEN IT COMES TO INSTRUCTIONS. If you read the whole of that verse, God also told them to use the tithe when converted to MONEY, it should be used for WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES. v25-26.

Above all, Jesus said: If you can "do it" to any of these ones, you have done it to me. My dear sister, GO YOUR WAY WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT TWICE AND GIVE YOU BROTHER IN NEED. THIS IS TRUE RELIGION IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. Read the book of James chapter 1:27 - 2:end.

Whymee: The major problem I have with Nigerian movie is classification, they can't classify the movie, in a movie your see horrorful scene, magical scene, love scene, spiritual scene, sex scene, comedy scene, they finally tagged such movie as true life story, after 3 hours of time wasting you will then see the caption, THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING.
You hadly seen Nigerian movie correcting an act in the society.

....car disappearing
....masquerade in the house of God
....gateman slapping his boss unjustly.
....evil spirit or demon encounter in the bush or forest, how come Natgeo world had no documentary on this demon and evil if they really exist
....armed robbers disappearing during police pursuit.
....scene that deliberately show the inefficiency of our law enforcement agent.
....scene confirming that charms actually work, adulterating the reasoning of viewers.
....encouraging and recognizing area boys, agbero, oluomo, olohunwa, drup pushers, idolatry, opc etc
....claiming there is bullet waver, ayeta, acid na water, photocopy, fortune users etc
...clamming there is healing from religious angle instead of taking the sick to hospital.

All these things bring reasoning backward, and will always boxed the thinking of the viewer

Nice thread poster..frankly speaking, i prefer foreign movies to Nigeria's sex-laden movies. I like educative and morally sound movies.i don't patronise Nigerian movies due to the following reasons:
1. Illicit and nude scenes which the poster rightly noted, which are bad for the kids that come to my house to watch.
2. With just watching two scenes, i can predict the remaining scenes.
3. Nigerian movies these days don't reflect the title.

And the third girl got 202,we all did pume, and it was only the girl that got medicine n surgery and both of us thrown to another dept together. So it doesn't matter if you scored less than 250, just score above 200 and u may even do better in pume...all those fools saying 200 is too low to score what did you score in ur days huh? @dabrake, i queue behind you, there are pretty, industrious and independent girls out there who work round the clock to fend for theirself, though few, which makes it look as if all girls are gold diggers.
Like the poster rightly pointed, online dating can't or won't work for Nigerians due to the aforementioned reasons. To add to that, i've discovered that rich or financially buoyant guys seldom fall in love online, they believe their money will fetch them any girl of their choice, and some dumb, myopic, foolish, mediocritic, nitwitic and cheap girls will fall prey to this guys.
Trust me, i can decipher a girl that is after my pocket within two months of dating(online and in real life). Its very simple, though you need a trait of psychology to achieve that.
Its not uncommon this days on 2go, a girl add you and the next minute she goes like...''please send me credit''. Can you imagine that?
This ugly trend will continue for God knows how long if guys and girls refuse to be theirself.

at this juncture, i'm sure you wouldn't want to read condeming or demoralising comments, but truth be said, you are in a very tight and difficult predicament. Mech. Engineering with 196? Mehnn! Y'll need a miracle.
I would advice you obtain a change of course form and chose another course. Stop crying over spilt milk. Moaning over it won't change your score. Above all, pray. If someone that scored 201 could gain admission without any assistance, then who says you can't? But make sure you study hard for your POST UTME(i.e if the university you chosed lowered their UTME cut-off to 180 or thereabout).

i share your opinion. But as at 2004, the decline in the credibility of UTME exams hadn't gotten to this pathetic state. A pity!

You guys should stop moaning over your scores and go prepare adequately for POST UME. At least you should be proud of what you got without any assistance(expo) i.e if you scored above 240.
I believe post ume questions are not as challenging as UTME questions, so we've all got the potential to do well.
I know of a girl who got 201 in her UTME, but blasted her post ume by getting above 70. As i write, she now study her desired course in Unilag. Also, i forsee mountaneous cut-off marks this year, due to the high number of candidates that passed UTME this year. Its a fight to finish! only the fittest, smartest and most prayerful will survive.

ACM10: Fortunately, UNN happens to be my alma mater. So your enquiry is well placed. There are some factors that predicts your chance of gaining admission into UNN to study Med/Surg. They are:

1. State of origin: UNN aims to reflect the federal character system. Therefore the cut-off mark for student varies across the states. Top of the ladder are the eastern states which consists of Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Abia, while the bar is lowered for student from other states and region. So if you are from Northern or some western states; there is a high probability of gaining admission into Med/Surg if you are able reenact your JAMB feat in PUME.

2. Meritocracy: If you score 75% and above, you will certainly appear on the merit list of Med/Surg even if you are from Anambra or Imo state.

3. Nepotism: Nigeria is a very corrupt country. Therefore favouritism trumps meritocracy. You will certainly gonna get admission to Med/Surg even if you score an average of 180, so far your personal person belongs to the old boys' network.

4. Deep Pocket: your money can also secure an admission for you. But I will advise against this approach. Med/Surg is an intellectually tasking course. I doubt if your money can propel you past 2nd MBBS. UNN medical school hosts some professors in pre-clinical and clinical courses that wont compromise on their principle. Beside, if one eventually scales through with his/her deep pocket, he/she will graduate as a horrible doctor.

Phonon: Don't get all formal with people on this forum.Everyone knows that JAMB has always been used to describe the examining body and the exam itself.Yes,it is correct to use UTME but don't make people dissect your own post for very obvious flaws.

don't excuse people's nonchallant attitude to petty details that matters a lot to familiarity
this is one of the many reasons candidates fail exams. What's wrong is wrong, the fact that many people misuse JAMB in place of UTME doesn't justify why one should follow suit.
If it was in the exam, lets say one of the questions in use of English, would you have chosen 'JAMB' instead of 'UTME'? Because that's what is mostly used by people? Miscellaneous details like this matters a lot.

JAMB is the body conducting the exam, UTME is the exam itself. Get that! And stop saying i got bla bla in my "JAMB" exam. Na wa!

I bet you 65% of those that scored high marks can't defend their result...for me, JAMB has lost its credibility, not only JAMB, but other examination bodies.
Even after cheating to get high scores, they still come out to say ''thank God'', can God be a party to examination malpractice? *SMH*
