EducationRe: Yabatech 2014/2015 Post Utme Examination/screening, Result And Admission Detail by Emylexray(m): 9:18am On Aug 02, 2013
Hello guys! I've read the various complaints here about difficulty in purchasing the post UTME form and all. I encountered similar problems too when i tried using my GTb ATM card to pay online. After much trying, i was advised by my elder sister to go to the school and do it. So i went to the school and had it done. Though you'll have to pay more. For me, i paid N3,000 instead of the N1,800 that was stipulated on yabatech's site. The issue is, it would be somehow frustrating and cumbersome if you are not using Zenith bank. There are complications when you use other banks other than Zenith bank. Thanks!

Btw, please, how can one buy the part time form? And what are the steps to getting it done?

Science/TechnologyRe: Reasons Why Africans can't Become Scientist. by Emylexray(m): 12:48pm On Jul 30, 2013
OP. I will start from Nigeria. Reasons why Nigerians can't become scientists:

1. We can't convey your thoughts in a detailed format.

2.we lack the technical know-how to think laterally and proffer solutions to problems.

Richy.:
I know that every one is entitle to their own opinion. but i know that Kenneth Hagin is not a false teacher. the bible characters you wanted to refer to were men like you and me.

Take PAUL for instance, he was beaten, almost stoned, imprisoned for teaching what his generation called false. but i guess you can quote what Paul said in the scripture because he was not in our generation.

Now Kenneth Hagins is a false prophet because he is in our era. if Paul were to be in our generation, would you have believed his teaching.
hmm! So nice! smiley

clue: Because, just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are God's ways and His thoughts too! See Isaiah 55:9
Never use your human reasoning, your intelligence and logic to question God's ways.

Christianity EtcRe: Leave Any Church That Speaks In Tongues(gibberish) by Emylexray(m): 3:56pm On Jul 28, 2013
There are so many people on nairaland in the religion section who always apply "human wisdom" in treating issues of the spirit. It never works that way. The disciples in the upper room spoke in diverse tongues when the holy spirit came upon them. Would you say they were "jabbering" or "gibbering" like you claimed? Bro, a carnal/ordinary man cannot understand the things of the spirit. Stop fanning the embers of falsehood and heresy. Well, it is not unexpected, we are in the last days! Matthew 24 is just being fufilled.

Christianity EtcRe: Will Christians Be Around During The Great Tribulation? by Emylexray(m): 10:54am On Jul 26, 2013
JesusisLord85: Ok, so here is a my view. I'll start with this rapture

The idea that Christians will be raptured before the tribulation period was first considered in the 1830 by a man called John Nelson Darby - a GENTILE, can you imagine. This is not biblical. Period. Type 'rapture' in wikipedia and you can read this, and find out more about this man if you wish.

So holy spirit had been revealing truths since Pentecost, and it is now only in 1830's, in the United Kingdom, did God now reveal it to a gentile. What a farcical idea.

The reason why this guy, and many people think the rapture is before the tribulation is because they confuse the tribulation with God’s wrath. Let me show you these are separate:

Matthew 24:29 29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken"

Ok, so the sun and moon will be darkened. According to Revelaiton, this does not happen until after the 6th seal is opened:

Revelation 6:12 “12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood

So what else happened AFTER the tribulation, AFTER this moon darkening takes place?

13-16 "and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains
16 and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

God's wrath and tribulation are indeed separate events, with tribulation some period beforehand.

So why does tribulation occur?
Matthew 13:21 “ yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended”

John 16:1“These things have I spoken unto you that ye should not be offended

Tribulation is persecution that arises because of the word. They are going through it because they are making a stand for the word of God.

Matthew 24:13 " But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved"
Endure what? Persecution/tribulation. They will receive their reward in heaven, they will not disappear into a cloud.

Interestingly, if you do a search, of the 22 times tribulation is mentioned in the bible it is talking about saved people going through tribulation. The other 2 times, it is not referring to end times, it is simply talking about people going through persecution in general.

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Acts 14:22 “ Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God

So these people think the greatest opportunity for us to prove our faith is when God will just carry you away? I think not.

Ok I notice I am not explaining timeline but rather disproving the pre-trib rapture nonsense. But when you can read the word through the correct lense, it will make more sense - not to say I am an expert. I will post seperately on timeline
weldone sir! I enjoyed reading!

Hmm! Trafford. Your story is inspiring and emotional. Keep your faith high, God will perfect it in your life.

Btw, i love the religious optimism of every aspirant on this thread. Now everybody is anchoring to God for a miracle grin grin that's good!

If you got above 50, start praying for a miracle. And like Trafford said, a high score is no a guarantee for admission.

EducationRe: NEWLY ADMITTED UNIBEN STUDENTS 2013/2014 SESSION... by Emylexray(m): 12:18pm On Jul 25, 2013
Trafford: okay, Here is the thing.. Last year about 48,000 wrote the post-ume. There are courses where about 5,000 candidates were competing for eg Law, Medicine, accounting etc. Whereas in such courses, Uniben needed about 100, 150 or so each.

So undoubtedly, there must be MANY scoring more than the usual cutoff of 50 (Not departmental) who weren't given their 1st choice,2nd choice or even any course at all.

At the end of the day, Uniben admitted 5,915(as the matriculation statistic says). So think about the many out of that 48,000 that PASSED but weren't admitted.

But this year, it's different. 97,000 chose Uniben.. But 15,000 wrote the Post-Ume(it might be more tho' cuz that's the stat of those who use PPT..but the difference won't be much even if CBT candidates are added)

So you can imagine how it 'd look like, not to mention the fact that the Post Ume result has further reduced the number.

And there's a rumor NUC instructed all schools to increase their admission capacity (this I can confirm) & uniben is considering admitting 7 or 8k (that I'm unsure of).
wow! Nice and detailed analysis. If the above statistics is anything to go by, then i must say things won't be thesame like last year. The truth is, admission issues in Uniben comes with twists and turns. One should just be prayerful

Trafford: I love to agree with you but Not all your points are true. Uniben do have a cutoff mark, if not..then how is the admission process done? But the thing is.. It's not made known or announced. That's the thing with Uniben, they always discreet in their doings.

N also, you say Uniben would give You any course when you beat their cutoff.. Helllooooo, was it not the same Uniben people claimed their Cutoff is '50'(not departmental)? But what happened last year? You Wanna see the 'Zillion' candidates..not with 50 nor 51,52....but 59 'not admitted' (myself included).. I can show you those with 60 if you want especially those who went for Accounting. They were the most victims.

That guy Ojingbe is making sense, you guys should listen to him. Tho' I believe this year wouldn't be like last year, the population was one huge factor that affected the admission process.
okay bro. But you somehow misquoted me. I didn't say they give aspirants any course inasmuch as they beat the cut-off. I meant if one doesn't meet the cut-off, they will give the person another course. My sister wanted to study accounting last year with an aggregate of 58, but was given social studies Edu. I guess probably she didn't meet the cut-off or something.

This thread is embedded in uncertainity. There's no definite fact here, just mere speculations. Well, its good to be here! You guys are doing a good job

bro, inasmuch as i agree with you, i don't agree with your last sentence. There have been testimonies of those who got 50, 51, 52 and got admitted while those with more than that e.g 58, 59, 60, 61 where not admitted or given their desired course. Its just God! I know a guy that got admitted with 48 into his desired course, precisely elect/elect (i can't say if he paid his way through though). We should just pray. That's all. I'm from Akwa ibom, a catchment area of Uniben.
