A court has given an order for all parties to maintain staus quo.

Yet this one go to another court of same jurisdiction

That is lawlessness

Politics / Re: Rivers House Of Assembly Elects New Majority Leader And Chief Whip by engineerboat(m): 6:23am On Dec 09, 2023
senatordave1:
Rivers State House of Assembly under the Speakership of Martins Amaewhule yesterday, at the 85th legislative sitting elected new Majority Leader and House Whip.

The newly elected are, Hon Major Jack, the member representing Akuku Toru Constituency 1, and former Whip of the House as the Majority Leader, while, Hon Frankline Nwabochi, member, representing Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Constituency 1, was elected the new Whip of the House.

THISDAY observed that the two new principal officers took their oath of office, immediately after they were voted by the members present at the sitting.

The Speaker, Amaewhule, congratulated the duo and charged them to be committed to their new responsibilities.

In another development, the Bill seeking to amend the Rivers State Local Government Law, No. 5 of 2018 and other matters connected thereto, has reached first reading.

The assembly members also debated on the Rivers State House of Assembly Funds Management (Financial Autonomy) Bill, 2023, after giving the Bill Second Reading.

Commenting on the Bill, Amaewhule harped on the importance of the Bill and noted his conviction that when passed the Governor will give his assent to the Bill.

The Speaker hinted that the Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara has withheld the funds meant for the Assembly for the month of November, 2023 but stated the resolve of the House to perform its constitutional function despite the distractions, and referred the Bill to the House Committee on Public Accounts for public hearing and further legislative scrutiny.

Amaewhule also thanked the 27 Members of the House for passing a vote of confidence on him and other principal officers; and reaffirmed his commitment to the service of the House and the State.

True but the most recent or concurrent judgment is obeyed

Is not bound to anybody

You can't disobey a court order then run to another court of same coordinate.

They should go and appeal that one

A court order supercedes any other thing, you know this?

Ouk affirmed

In the previous court order, which one has FG fulfilled concerning the labour issue. The FG will be the first to approach the court yet refuse to obey the directive of the Court on how to handle the issue.

Still don;t know why the court will continue to grant such ridiculous order when the FG will never obey their own side of the Court decision.

I said APC inflate votes but INEC reviewed the vote and cancelled them.

If APC has had their way it would have been 140,000 vs 6000 for diri just like it happened 2019.

It's done & dusted anyways, Diri wins but not one to celebrate.

Two things I would recommend to be considered in the electoral law: firstly, nobody should be sworn into office without exhausting the complete legal process. Secondly, the onus of defending the winner should be shifted to INEC. INEC should be saddled with the duty of providing the evidence to substantiate and defend the winner they declared. Where they can’t defend the results sufficiently, the election should be cancelled.

The question will bell the cat and take the bull by the horn.

Is it the NASS member benefitting from the Looholes that will do it or

The Executive benefitting from the loopholes that will do it.

We wait

It shouldn't be about winning elections alone.
Let's not encourage monsters, we have too many of them unless you have plans of leaving the Country already.

Even the devil has followers.

The monsters are rearing up because they have encouragers.

What the encouragers failed to relaize is that it will reach everybody na turn by turn
