Ododo is a former auditor-general for local government in the state.

He enjoys the advantage of being the only candidate from the central senatorial district of the state, the support of the incumbent Yahaya Bello, and his party (the APC), which leads at the federal level.

He is, however, faced with opposition from some members of his party who lost out in the primaries.

Kogi State Indigenes Will be going to the Poll this morning to Elect the New Governor that will pilot the affairs of the State.

About 1.8 million registered voters are expected to decide the next governor of Kogi state during the November 11, 2023 election, according to the data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to the Commission, the state has over two million registered voters, but only about 1.8M picked up their Permanent Voters Cards from the Commission.

The election will be held in 3,508 polling units spread across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The LGAs included Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ankpa, Bassa, Dekina, Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Odolu, Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, Kogi, Lokoja, Mopamuro, Ofu, Ogori-Magongo, Okene, Okehi, Olamaboro, Omala, Yagba-East, and Yagba-West.

A Total of 18 Candidates will be taken part in the Election today.

Yes,I read it here and I am pointing out all the mistakes the judges made..

1) the judges agreed that there was substantial noncompliance but went ahead to declare a winner.that is very fatal.once there is substantial violation,you cancel the elections and order it afresh.in law,when you cobtradict yourself, your entire position will be set aside and the status quo maintained

He graduated from CSU whose registrar has also mentioned that 3rd parties produce their replacement diploma/certificate, which in America
a certificate is merely a ceremonial document unlike the Academic Transcript which is the most critical document a graduate can obtain from his/her school.

The fact that other schools practice this 3rd party vendors production of replacement certificate is what this topic has highlighted.

We are grateful to Atiku for not only educating himself about how American education works, but also inadvertently educating many Nigerians about certing aspect of American education.

For instance, I never knew the American education and American employment, relied only on the School's transcript and not the certificate, hence why it is issued to the graduating student immediately. The UK also issue academic transcript immediately after graduation.

In Nigeria, some graduates have never had need of their Academic transcript, so do not even know what it looks like.

I requested for my Nigerian transcript many years after graduation, when I wanted to pursue a UK education. However my UK transcript was sent to me together with my certificate immediately upon graduation.

In Nigeria, the School would even tell you that your transcript can never be issued directly to you, but to any other 3rd party organisation (employer or school, accreditor (like WES), or foreign government) which you have allowed to receive the transcript.

I have my Nigerian transcript only because I got it off the 3rd party organisations that received it upon my request to the school.

What is even most educative is that replacement certificates in the US can be obtained from 3rd party vendors, upon confirming with the school the academic status of the applicant.

Not only did Atiku enlighten himself and many ignorant Nigerians, he also enlightened his American lawyers who could have better advised him on some of his enquiries about Tinubu's academic documents.

My guess is that they did advise him, but a doubting Thomas is always in need of seeing things by himself.

You need to read the full Judgement from the Justice Sidi Bage to appreciate this case. I know the case like my backhand.

Justice Bage resigned before his retirement age to go become Emir of Lafia in 2019. When the opposing lawyers tried to bring in technicality, he was so angered that technicality was brought into a case as serious as FORGERY. That the SC will never allow it. All those on the panel with him are either dead or retired (Mary Odili presided, Bata Ogunbiyi, Late C C Nweze & Amina Augie)

Saleh and Abbah contested under the PDP in 2011 for a Fed Const. seat. Abba won, filled the INEC form but was pressured by PDP to step down since the then ACN Candidate, Onjeh had found out about the forged Certificate. Abbah had forged an OND Certificate from Fed Poly, Mubi.
Just days before the election, PDP replaced Abbah with Saleh who came 2nd in the Primary.

Prior to that, In his INEC form before his eventual withdrawal, Abbah had filled that dreaded column: Have you ever presented a forged Certificate to INEC (Yes/No), he ticked NO.

Onjeh challenged PDP at the tribunal that Abbah forged hIs Certificate and PDP had replaced him overnight contravening the Electoral Act. PDP however argued that Saleh had been replaced and it was pre-election. The tribunal held that Saleh indeed forged his document as the Registrar of Fed Poly Mubi told the Court that the certificate was forged, however he has been replaced and nomination was a Party issue.

Now in 2015, Abbah defeated Saleh again in the Primary and infact no other Party sponsored a Candidate in that Constituency but Saleh was waiting.

This time Abbah didn't attach the Certificate and went on to be declared winner by INEC unopposed. However, Saleh went to Court and the Federal High Court said forgery is forgery, whether you attach or not, it has been confirmed. Abbah appealed and the Appeal Court said that since Abbah didn't attach the Certificate again, he is a free man. Again, he didn't knowingly attach it then to be seen as genuine so he is free.

Saleh went to Supreme Court, and the Justice Bage was mad. The Supreme Court made it clear that forgery had no limitation. Have you ever? So, why tick No?

The Supreme Court didn't just invalidate Abbah, they asked the Police to arrest and prosecute him immediately, that was the end of Abbah'a political journey ever.

It is a must, to take the lead, righting the wrong in our society if and when the opportunity presents itself as in this appeal. Allowing criminality and certificate forgery to continue to percolate into the streams, waters and oceans of our national polity will only mean that our waters are and will remain dangerously contaminated.

The Chicago State University persistent claims that Tinubu was their student and he graduated from the school shows Tinubu actually went to the School.

CSU knows that Tinubu is a male and if truly the Tinubu that attended the school was female, they won't stick their neck for Tinubu.

Tinubu is only fighting over this issue because the document might show other irregularities like age or secondary school he attended.

Tinubu attended and graduated from CSU and the documents which will be released tomorrow will show this.

Then why the rush wait till the documents are released now

The higher Courts have always insisted that even if the preliminary objection will likely be sustained, because of the time-boumd nature of election petition cases that the tribunal deal with all and reserve judgement on the objections during final judgement.

That's the same way it's going in Kaduna where there is very strong claims that the objections could be sustained yet the tribunal has carried on their work.

Unfortunately, Pela's case might just be "just for the records."

The time-bound nature of the tribunal will not give room for every objection, i think the idea is okay, because if such is allowed, unneccesary objection will be the order of the day wasting the tribunal precious time.

Pela's case na Academic exercise, he's going nowhere. His motion is stationary and motionless, unfortunately, his media people are not seeing it that way, anyway emotion must be emotion

It was an interlocutory appeal.

His case was dismissed at the tribunal for allegedly abandoning the pre-hearing. He approached the Appeal Court and the Court upheld his suit.

This means that, he will have to go back to the tribunal and continue his case where he stopped. Final addresses have been adopted by Omo-Agege and others. So his case has been fixed for today, it has to be done speedily because the same 180 days will still run simultaneously as before.

His case is going nowhere though
