Nigeria is fast becoming a failed state. It has never been this bad.

A telecoms industry insider had earlier dropped this bombshell here on Nairaland but i do not think the issue was given the proper attention it deserved. Some few minutes ago i received SMS notifications from two different Network Service providers informing its subscribers of their plan to hike data tariff starting Dec 1.
I refuse to be convinced that FG is taking this action for the sole purpose of generating revenue. It is very obvious even to a blind man that if the federal government were serious about shoring up revenue,it would immediately cut down the excessively high cost of governance.
This latest move by the FG is not unconnected to its desire to clampdown on the Nigerian online space which is the last bastion for the Nigerian youths to gather and reflect on the gross ineptitude of this government and figure a way out for our young generation.
FG knows that only few would be able to meet up with any increment in data tariff due to the terrible economic situation deliberately imposed on the masses by this regime. We can't continue like this.

Intense pressure,they say, is a precursor for creativity. This recession has been a blessing in disguise for me because when it sank its fangs in me,I was forced to re-evaluate my stance on several fronts just as any human being facing survival challenges would do. This re-evaluation was strictly influenced by my survival instincts. Before the recession, I had a business I managed with my wife. She would travel to Dubai or Thailand to buy some items to resell to our already-established contacts here in Nigeria. However, everything changed with the BASTARDIZATION of our currency (Naira). We lost virtually everything coupled with the fact that most of our customers were unable to meet up with their earlier demand of the goods I sell because of the prevailing economic situation.We were virtually living from hand to mouth for a whole month before I decided to sell my car to offset some bills and to feed my family. Luckily,my wife's elder sister returned from the US and decided to stay with us while she's in Nigeria. It was while we were sharing with her our helplessness and frustrations that she informed us of what she does as a side job while in US. She spends over 4 hours daily on the internet at home as a webcam model. The job entails that she striptease and engage in sexual activity with herself (Sometimes with her fiance) while tens of thousands of people watch her online via webcam. Her viewers would pay some money to watch her take off her top while others might pay to watch her engage in sex with her fiance. It was bizarre to me at first but she informed us of how much she makes on a weekly basis,I immediately got interested after all I have nothing to lose and it would be either myself or my wife or both of us only. To dust the story short, my wife and I have been into it for over 4 months and I must say the amount we make in forex compensates any remorse at all (We are yet to earn as much of income my in-law makes from it though). Things have really changed for good as a result of this new stream of income considering the huge amount we get when we convert the money to Naira. That's my story.

Lesson learnt: Our limitations exist only in our minds.

I really don't see the need for this kind of vitriolic attacks on Jimoh Ibrahim. I'm not his fan but I know that all politicians aren't altruistic in their motives and ambitions. I don't support bitter politics. FFK is fast painting himself as a bitter politician

Well, she's right! I'm not rooting for her here, but it's her life. That you're very decent doesn't mean every other person should too. I'm a lover of Christ, but that doesn't mean I should force Christ down someone's throat. Let's concentrate on the message of the OP. I think he just raised valid points. Whether he's a stooge or not I believe the message carries a genuine reflection of the abysmal state of the youth in Nigeria that needs to be addressed promptly to avoid social chaos as a result of the ineptitude of our "Elders"

From what I can deduce from this report and current happenings, I think it's fair to say that the CPC faction of APC is using some big wigs from various regions in the country to build a new political platform and power base. Such people like Amaechi , Orji Uzi Kalu, Fashola et al. Well this confirms that APC as a political party is dead just waiting to be buried

This is a suspense filled movie. I await the outcome

its so hard to predict the outcome of this ondo election. Who says Oke can't enjoy the alliance of all other smaller parties including a large chunk of Markafi's PDP. As far as I know Aketi's strength lies only in the Federal might backing him. I strongly hope it doesn't degenerate into chaos to warrant "State of Emergency" cos I can bet that's part of the tricks FG could pull off in ondo.

This will surely be one decisive election

A lot of young artisans (carpenters, mechanics, hairdressers etc.) neglect their trade for quick money, through riding of keke and okada. It might affect us in the future.
