Giddyperson: I just saw this little mortar on Jumia, maybe I'd hold on until I order it, I also saw the hand blender, the little ones sold for 1k ish. I think I'd just go with the mortar cuz it's easier to sterilize plus those hand blenders are not strong at all. Anyway until then, avacado would hold on cuz my spoon is just not cutting it, literally hunniesuzie has this masher too.... it works well |

Or Is there anything I can add to the water to give it a more encouraging taste. She's finally pooping now and it's hard and she's straining too much try pear puree Oatmeal is easier to digest try watermelon...u can juice it and give her as a drink. Breastmilk - believe me it works! |

Benignasweety: Can ribena serve as my sweetener when my baby starts eating cereals? Am not sure of all this apple puree, banana puree, no blender.
We would be 6months next month... How time flies!!I am not ready true true but I can do it tru Christ. u dont need a blender for banana - u can use a fork or spoon apple is softer once cooked, just cut into much smaller bit before cooking, so u can easily mash with a fork afterwards |

Giddyperson: Biko my baby did not poo all through yesterday and today. She had diarrhoea when she was sick and that just stopped on Friday, since then she hasn't pooped. Won't be bothered if she was still EBF but I just recently started giving her semi-solids atleast four times a day, I also try to give her water a lot tho she plays with it and half end up on her bib. Anyway, thought she should be pooping everyday now that she's eating other foods, at what point do I begin to worry? What was her normal poop routine b4 she fell ill? When did d diarrhoea stop? U know once they start solids, they may not poop as often as they used to. U sef think am Na... If u change ur diet from tea to AKPU, ur digestive system sef go gats adjust Watch out for the consistency of the poop... Hard and in pebble form could mean she is constipated. Else she is fine and just not ready to poop. Give her WARM water first thing in the morning U can try pear puree ( but b sure the diarrhoea is gone b4 giving this) Oatmeal is milder to digest as compared to rice n co. In summary, she needs to poop first b4 u can ascertain Dt she is constipated. |

I asked like 4 times, babe who dispensed the drugs said it's correct. I checked the leaflet in the box, it says 5ml in the morning, 5 in the evening which makes more sense to me. Mamas who know pls advise. My baby is 7 months plus and 9.5kg

JGracious: I wish all these manufacturers of baby milk will make small samples for us to be able to buy and test if our Lo's will like it before going ahead to buy larger quantities.
my DS is not accepting Nan milk. he is soooo turned off with mere perceiving the smell alone. He takes his oats and ogi without milk cheerfully.
Is that how I will just be buying milk until I find the one he likes?

Giddyperson: How often does your baby eat, lemme know of mine is still normal. Averagely 5 - 6 times a day
Secondly please can you take a picture of the bag and plates you use to pack food for crèche or when u leave her for the nanny and do the plates keep them warm of do the crèche people have to warm them esp the purees and mashes. I warm n put in a cooler. I just tell her nanny to feed her the puree as her next meal (we have breakfast at home b4 I drop off at the creche). That way she finishes the puree on or b4 12noon. I don't want it staying longer than 4-5 hours in a cooler.
And do you have a separate bag for where they would put the used plates/bottles for you. So how many bags in total do you end up taking to the crèche 1 big bag. We have a plastic bowl stationed at d creche where she drops the used ones. She actually washes them all and packs them back in her bag at the end of the day (she says she isn't comfy packing dirty stuff back into our bag to take bk home) But when I get home, I rewash and sterilise all bottles, plates, spoons and cups.
I want to start getting mentally prepared Id really appreciate pictures pls when u get the time

It has 2 compartments and is big enough for all her stuff.

For measuring out cereals and milk for creche.. This one is more air-tight as compared to the white one.. So air doesn't get into the milk or cereal

For storing and freezing purees.
I have plenty of this and I use this to portion her food and soups to avoid wasting or defrosting more than she can finish. Once I cook, I portion in as many of this bowls as can contain and freeze. The night before I take it out any one I want to use the next day from the freezer to normal fridge compartment (depending on how frozen it is).
For purees - I put the bowl of frozen puree in a small pot of boiling water...more like steaming. After a while the food gets hot, stir to ensure all parts have been heated up, and I transfer to her cooler and pack up for creche.. For soups, I defrost and warm in a pot (like I Wld do regular food) with little heat.
For soups - half filled with swallow is OK for her For purees - she can finish an almost filled bowl.
On the average she eats 5 - 6 times a day

Voucher All other interested mamas
I just thought to add this - U can spice up your baby's potato/plantain/yam puree/mash with boiled green peas, boiled carrot or even boiled liver.
For liver - I cut into little cubes and pre-boil separately. Add to the already cooked potatoes/plantain/yam and mash/blend.
I also boil and mash my carrot and peas seperately and then mix with whatever puree she is having. |
