You may not see it or understand it at this time, but this news is worse than our 419 image. If we are not careful this could directly and indirectly affect everyone of us (both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria).

This is an image we definitely do not want and we must all stand up and denounce this behaviour.
We must let the world know that Nigerians are great peaceful people, who do not believe in doing evil things to other countries.

Believe it or not, America has been nothing but an incredible country to Nigeria and Nigerians.
Are u this unreasonable/stupid in real life or does ur stupidity manifest itself only on the internet?? Dumb Fool

It just disappoints me mehn,
How quick and fast we nigerians are to disparage each other?
If the dude was successful, we would all claim him as being from Naija,
Now that is a terrorist we are tryin 2 cast an entire tribe as being terrorists,
Please let 'reason' prevail in this 2009/2010,
We are past this shit, a lot of u know good hausa ppl.
Are they terrorists? Come on now, use ur sense,
Never let xenophobia come into whatever you are doing or saying,

If you really read the article, you will find out that the writer has already proffered solutions to our problem. However, one of them is not waiting for some god to come down and do miracles.

On the other hand, nigerians are not and have never been lazy.
Haha lol everybody has solutions my broda.
The question is who is willin to die in other that their solution be implemented, But it's funny though, almost every nigerian i know has a solution for that country. When will we realise that words really don't do anything to penetrate the wall most nigerians have thrown up? It's like we talk, talk, talk, talk but action is nonexistant.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria, A Nation Of Idiots ! by enziga(m): 9:16am On Jun 06, 2009
nuzo:
Unless wisdom has been redefined; I have nothing to debate with you. All you did was to define cowardice, hypocrisy, sycophancy and selfishness. Any wonder why the writer plainly stated that nigerians, especially the younger ones are Idiots.

Have a good day.
I see where cowardice, selfishness and sycophancy could come in with ur rebuttal but hypocrisy ke?
Anywayz Great Puba, please bless us younger ones with your unlimited wisdom, so that we may work miracles in your name for our motherland.
I love how nigerians of every stripe are able to look down their noses @ each other, but when it comes to simple solution none of us have it. Am sure if they ask u now for ur opinion on the matter, u will write a book. But solution na wahala for our country. Maybe we should agree with poster, but instead of being idiots, we are lazy fools.

If this is all you understand as nigerians being wise, then am afraid to say that the writer of this article takes home the trophy.
By wisdom, i feel that nigerians are one of the few nations on earth to grasp the common sense of life.
A man's first duty is to keep himself alive, Simple and short, if u can't keep yourself alive and you go and die a senseless death born out of your overeagerness to fight for more rights for people who'll neither appreciate your efforts or remember you. Then you are a FOOL FOOL FOOL
Fela is dead and to me he's the only real hero naija ever had. The man boasted that he had death in his pouch, e be like say death escaped one day and came knockin @ his door, Show me a hero and i'll show you a dead corpse
PoliticsRe: Nigeria, A Nation Of Idiots ! by enziga(m): 8:47am On Jun 06, 2009
nuzo:
Hmm? How? huh
Define wisdom please?
Wisdom in the sense that we have come to realise that "heroes" end up deaddddd or bitter/miserable.
Everybody now has to shine eye and fend for his or herself. Nigerians are people with a mentality of survival, strife and struggles do not suit us @ all. So for all those people in the olden days who were able to galvanise people to action, I bow for them. But right now in this day and age, cynicism has destroyed our nation.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria, A Nation Of Idiots ! by enziga(m): 8:44am On Jun 06, 2009
@ poster
We are not idiots o, we are simply wise young people who are wearied out,
All these heroes u mentioned, where are they now? They are dead as dead can be.
There is a sayin that goes, "show me a hero, and i'll show you a dead corpse"
There is a dude on here on NL or was it naijaryders, that has a quote that goes as follows,
if If mugu fall, guy man still go wak
It has come to our attention that the mugus are the only one takin direct action and protesting, when they end up dead we shed some very few tears and move on. Now the smart thing to do is make your money, enjoy your life and maintain the one honest motto still alive today "every asshole for himself"

@ Courage
there are some politicians who are not even scared to die in that field, because they know the risk. I believe that a man's true weakness should be exploited and for most of them their weaknesses are their love for their families, Eliminate their families and their morality will come back home straight.

courage89:
@ Poster,

I agree up to some extent with your radical treatment to modify our political / corrupt spree environment. However instead of killing their children, why not start with them? Let the revolution start with the finger that commits the corrupt practice so that they would not take other innocent lives along with them.

tunku:
Yes, kill them all and let God sort them out. Unfortunately who would do this without hate in their heart? Japan had something similar under the shogunate where the families of vassal lords were held captive in the capitol city by the shogun. Why can't the people who didn't "select" this jokers hold their families hostage at the end of an AK? Sure you feed them, let them go about their business(under close scrutiny), and never let them leave the state or area of representation as long as that family member is "servin, ", who are we kidding, LORDING it over the people. There is a difference between this and kidnapping them for ransom. I am sure that this system would make these asses accountable to the people. But then again this bastards aren't above sacrificing anyone, not even their own kids, for power. If you live or have lived in Nigeria and this is the most disgusting idea to ever furrow your brow in disgust then you my friends are detached from reality.
Yep tunku, some of them politicians will definitely be able to sacrifice their own kids and family without battin an eye.
How then do you get to such a person? But look @ it this way, not all politicians are willin to sacrifice their families, maybe just 5 of them @ the most.
Get 15 families dead and u'll see change by force. I mean everyone is snortin their noses @ the bloodshed but this is so far the easiest way to get change withour resort to civil war or mass bloodshed.
PoliticsRe: Would U Support The Kidnapping/killin Of Politicians Children In Nigeria? by enziga(op): 6:56pm On Jun 05, 2009
Loooool please litmus with all the character Nigerians supposedly possess, where has that gotten us as a nation? Look @ ghana, the people there are even trying to better their country. What are we doing in ours? Character ko, character ni. Go tell the poor man in the street that his nation has character and he'll tell u. Na character man pikin go chop?? People are going hungry and starvin and ur here talkkin about "character", Dude just because u live a good life, does not mean u should be blinded to what people back home are suffering from.

Litmus:
There isn't an idea more fanciful than the notion you can progress an African nation, in this current Media Age, through the barrel of a gun.

In my estimation, Nigerians are the freest people in the world today and probably turning out to be the laziest and moaniest. The state and police dose not watch Nigerians or seem to care what they do. Television ownership  has not reached the stage of wide ownership were it can effectively act as  an organ of state control over the lives of the citizens  as it does in Britain and many western democracies. Nigerians do not pay taxes to any conventional extent.  You want material to build something, just go to the local bridge and tear off a railing, want to drive a car, just learn to steer the car straight and wala! You’re a driver. Power is unreliable but many still get what little there is free of charge. People can just erect a shed wherever they like and start trading. No one hurls them up before the public prosecutor for miscellaneous offences such as driving polluting vehicles, urinating or spiting on the road. People are not taxed for ownership of land. In England you are taxed for everything, I have even seen fresh air soled in bottles.  When Americans talk of free government, essentially they mean what you have in Nigeria. They want government to stay out of their lives – sure, take care of the infrastructure, but let me get on with it. If the law cant or want take care of criminality I want the right to bare arms so I can do it myself.  I over simplify but that is the picture.

Nigerians in many instances live in the equivalent of a frontiers environment and in the history of the world; people traditionally create something from nothing, informed by nothing more than imagination,  strength of their character, through sweat and through tears in just such environments. Ordinary Nigerians ought to be encouraged to do what they used to do, which is work hard and be imaginative in order to attain a reasonable, good or excellent standard of life and not encouraged to seek quick fixes through extortion and the barrel of a gun. The history of Africa is one big lesson about the futility of armed struggle. I remember a time when Nigerians often won prizes for furniture making in Italy. You want a tricycle go round to your local woodworker and he’d knock you up one out of wood. Nigerians are the best in arts and craft in Africa .Even in the past the nations that today make up Nigeria produced the most sophisticated artwork in all of Africa. Where are the people who once would have spotted the markets? For example, people who would have created tennis academies in order to exploit the major money to be made from starlets just as John Fashionu tried to do with football academy trials. Where are those people who would once have developed Kai-kai into a marketable brand on the international market? Where are the grape growers to crate a Nigerian wine? Where has all that tradition of hard work, innovation and thrift gone? I recon it has been dashed on the rock of lies that we, who have made it abroad, heap in front of them. We fool them and we fool ourselves in prescribing an idealised West lifestyle portrayed in films and adverts for all Nigerians when in reality the West have not achieved that universal standard for all citizens. If Nigerians back home worked half as hard as we have to work abroad they would gain all those material things that they seem to think is the alpha and omega of life.

As an aside, let me tell the originator of this thread something that he or she either may not know, because he/she is young, not actually Nigerian or embittered by fool notions about what it means to be developed.  Nigeria has reached a stage were it can be said to poses a national character.  I do not believe that Nigerians have yet defined that character; foreigners whose mischiefs are informed often by racial prejudice have only prescribed it for us. Thus, we are thieves and fraudsters accordingly.  Nevertheless, Nigeria does have a character - meaning the people who make up the geographic area, because of proximities and cross-cultural contact – do share a number of values. I cannot kill what it is with one phrase but that character has all of the following in it.  Nigerians are not envious people. Nigerians respect and aspire to traditional African values. Nigerians are hard working. Nigerians value education. Nigerians value respect very highly. Nigerians have an expansive social life.   I know that some will argue that other African share some of the things I mentioned, which is why, if forced to identify characteristics I believe exclusive to Nigerians, I would say Ambitiousness, Kindness and abhorrence to Jealousy. This is why so far the reaction to the proposal of the thread has met with horror.

The above is my experience as a Nigerian I don’t care what anyone says in contradiction or sites as an example to our contrariness.

In the meantime, the thread really should be removed for inciting violence and murder. I believe that if the incitement had been made in reference to white people, the thread would been removed in no time.

U think i advocated this form of revolution because i was running for heaven's most wantedhuh
U know why the politicians will always have the upper hand? Because they are not afraid to play dirty, and thats the diff between them and us. We are to "Righteous" apparently to stoop to such a level, what has our righteousness gotten our people? More sufferin and poverty,
I disagree with u bro, if we are going to change naija, we must definitely stoop to their level and give them a taste of their own medicine

snwanduv:
@Enziga

I have heard people say for Nigeria to be helped, everyone over 40 years old should be killed. I think that and your suggestion is too drastic as usual. Maybe killing only the corrupt leaders themselves. Yea you are saying they have killed families and so on. But you dont sink to the level of your oponent because at the end of the day there will be no way to tell the difference between you and them.

I am not even advocatin that we kill every politician, just that we target the ones we all know a hundred percent are corrupt to their very soul, People like babangida, Baba OBJ, etc abound. People always grow coldfeet when it comes to revolutionary talk, But everyone has a theory for how to save naija with no blood shed. But for a good 40 years now, nothing has changed.

lee007:
I have read this tread with keen intrest, i agree disagree with the poster to some extent while i also agree with him a little. At this stage of our nationhood, we need more than fancy theories to get our nation out of the woods. If you have ever being near or around where this so called rich kids are squandering our money whether here in nigeria or abroad, you will feel like getting a AK-47 and blasting them to hell!
However some of them are just benefciaries of ill gotten wealth without even knowing the effect of such on the generality of Nigerians and hence to some extent are innocent.

We need revolution in this country and in my opinion after Ten years of uninterupted stealing some guys have to leave the stage albirt forcefully.

You can disagree with me!

So your impeccable logic is use a crime to solve a crime?
Don’t be naïve all these kidnappers are not doing so for a better Nigeria, what majority of them care for is the ransom, in fact they are corrupting the system more. Nigeria is already on the 10 countries most likely to be kidnapped list. Don’t let make it worse.
Who said we had to use these amateur kidnapperrs? Am talkin about people who are professionals to the core, get this thing done. Wipe out 20 families on the go. And threaten to wipe out 20 more,
I seriously dont see why this is botherin to u people?? Millions of families have been slaughtered and killed in those villages in ijaw, ogoni etc,

Next thing i know u'll probably accuse me of being a vampire, Point is, France had to have a bloody revolution before things could change, America had to have a blood revolution before things could change, britain had to have a bloody revolution before the status quo could change. Naija can surely advert a bloody revolution if our politicians children can be sacrificed for the greater good, no be so? Lets be honest tpiah, there are tons of nigerians in schools today, who have graduated, Nobody is going back home to go and become and honest politician. Am not even advocatin for anyone politician's family to be targetted. Simply go to the nigerian people and ask them, name your top twenty most corrupt politicians in Nigeria. Corrupt in the sense that these very same politicians have ordered the killings of other innoncent people, these very same politicians have contributed to the human sufferin and pain of the electorate. Then if these same politicians are found guility of the aforementioned crimes, then their families should suffer pain to. Abi is this not reasonable?

Nigga puhlese, God indeed is not to be mocked,

tpiah:
if you're not scared to die then I've suggested some ways you can show your "bravery". Otherwise you're a coward of the lowest order.

If the politicians with all their wickedness, didnt kidnap and murder you, then that speaks volumes. If they were really wicked or even just careful, they would track you down for this thread and deal with you. I'm quite sure that would be your own reaction if GOD FORBID you were them.

What i disagree with is the fact that people like you, and any of your disciples, are roaming around freely with no control.

grin Homie i have known stupid  people in my time , But take my word for it when i tell u that ur own level of stupidity takes the cherry on top of the cake. Ahn ahn,  i expected reasonable people to disagree with me based on simple, It is wrong to kill, or violence is not right. But ur own dumbass is disagreein with me based on me being the agent of satan and u being the instrument of God sent to dissuade me from my evil plans,
Lol @ u tellin me to check into nearest mental facility, Between u and I who is being irrational? Lol @ my master satan, I no blame u sha, the satan in me is greater than that idiot tht resides in u

tpiah:
If your life sucks too much to bear, you can check into the nearest mental facility. Or head for Switzerland where they allow you to die by your own choice.

God is not mocked, and you'll surely reap the consequences of your evil mind and sick, evil ways.

You speak for no one besides your master satan, so dont come in here pretending you're speaking for some masses, unless those masses are your coworkers in hell!

If the thing pain you pass, head for Somalia or Zimbabwe and go kidnap the politican's children so the people there can quickly put you out of your misery.  Equatorial Guinea can also help you out!

@poster

I agree with u to some extent but no killing. Their must be a non violent way of seizing power or effecting change in Nigeria. I think Nigerians should understudy the people of Thailand.
Blacksta i honestly feel that the time for studying done pass, Ahn ahn how many nigerians have gotten education? We have studied yankee, we have studied jand, we have studied almost every successful democratic institution. The time for studyin has passed, next thing u know we might even start studyin mongolia. I understand fully well why most ppl will frown @ killing, or even violence. But what other way is there? Nigerians on a normal day are very LAZY people in the sense that we are all for survival. That's why protests and marches won't get us anywhere, everybody is to busy. Am tellin u, just wipe out a good 20 families of 20 carefully selected corrupt politicians. Every single one of them will "soji" straight.
biina:
@enziga
if you feel we need bloodshed to cure Nigeria, I will gladly send you to the hereafter.
Question what exactly in my post do u disagree with ? U haven't told me yet. Lol @ gladly send me to the hereafter, *shrugs* we all have to die someday abi?

I couldn't think of a better phrase so:

the funny thing about you all calling me sick is that the very same politicians make the same decisions everyday without battin an eyelid. They give out orders that certain people be killed, and do not take into account the families of the victims. U realise that as long as people like us remain "pussies" these politicians will always ride roughshod over us? Please the time has come to let of of the dumb belief that one can change naija without a revolution or bloodshed. People must meet their makers before naija ever steps into the right direction.

LIKE I SAID, YOU ARE SICK AND SO IS ANYONE WHO AGREES WITH YOU.

You've been defeated time and time again and will continue to be defeated forever.

God is not mocked!!!!!!!
What does God have to do with this? *smh @ religious nutjobs who frequent this "holy website*.
Where has your God been while millions of defenseless people die from poverty? ehn? Where has he been when millions of people have been slaughtered by the government that is sworn to protect them? Abeg leave religious matter for another day.
What exactly is sick about my proposal? How exactly do u think these politicians make their daily decisions? Any politician who can enter his car and drive to his office while bypassin his people sufferin and not feel compassion in his/her to ease their sufferin deserves to have their family wiped out,
