Career / Re: Searching For A Job? Look Inwards! by eolutosin(m): 3:09pm On Oct 31, 2006 |
Hm, I do not really blame the engineers that queue to work in a bank. The truth is that how many coys are available to employ the number that come out of our educational system every year? Anyway, if you are currently unemployed, I would suggest that you seek to acquire the necessary skills. One thing I have discovered is that your grade in school can only create a platform for you to be invited for test, whether you would get the job eventually depends on what you can do. So, let's start focusing on what you can do. It is well |

Career / Searching For A Job? Look Inwards! by eolutosin(m): 5:02pm On Oct 30, 2006 |
Looking For Job, Look Inward! I was on my way to a friend’s office in Opebi and was held up in traffic for close to 30 mins. Nobody could give me a clue as to what was causing the hold-up. What I saw at the Opebi junction afterwards really set me thinking. Unknown to me, one of the new generation banks was meant to organise her recruitment test that day. The test was meant to be in batches but you would see thousands of candidates waiting eagerly to write the test. The picture above actually shows the crowd waiting for their turn in front of the examination centre. This is not peculiar to this bank alone. I can still remember the experiences some of my friends had while trying to write the last Guinness Recruitment test. Some waited for hours and didnt even have the opportunity to write the test. A friend said that he had to leave the centre in annoyance when he found out that the 12:00 noon batch had not even written their test as at 4:00 pm when he was meant to write his own. The truth is that we would continue to witness an increase in the number of job seekers in this country many thanks to the graduates being produced by our education system every year and the limited number of jobs available. The irony of life is that I have seen people who get between 3 to 4 jobs at the same time and yet quite a lot of others have not been able to get one. What is the difference? The difference is definitely the quality of the products. The Minister of Education, in her presentation she called “CRISES” at the Presidential Forum on Education on Saturday, 28 October 2006, said that 7 out of every 10 graduates are UNEMPLOYABLE. This implies that the crowd I saw at that centre waiting to write the bank’s recruitment test is actually about 30% of the job seekers in this country. I would even say that only a very few percentage of this would be able to get jobs. Reason? Your guess is as good as mine. Let us begin to look inward and probably get a possible solution to this. You might think this does not affect you in any way since you are part of the fortunate few who have been able to get JOBS. But look around you, you would surely see some of your relatives who are yet to find job since the time they left school. They are part of the crowd I am talking about. If you are a graduate and still have not been able to get a job, you may need to do any of the following * Sharpen your axe * Create a concise resume * Learn a Trade * Read a book Just do something about your life. It is high time you started taking your destiny into your hand. In Lesson from a Cafetaria, I shared the story of a man who entered a cafetaria, sat down in one of the chairs and waited to be attended to. He waited for quite some time and nobody attended to him. An old man actually came to his rescue some minutes later and told him what is in operation in that restaurant. Friends, life, definitely, doesn’t give you what you deserve; It only gives you what you demand. Never sit down waiting for someone to make things happen for you. God will no doubt use men to lift you, but don’t sit idle, waiting for the lifting to come. Go for it! If nobody employs you, why not deploy yourself? Remember this - in life, you don’t wait to get served. You go out there, pick up your tray and take your turn! [/color] Source: http://www.yemma.com.ng/2006/10/30/looking-for-job-look-inward/ |

Education / Re: The Best University In Nigeria? by eolutosin(m): 11:02am On Apr 12, 2006 |
It doesnt matter which university is the best in Nigeria. What matters is what becomes of you after you leave that University. I have seen people that went to the so-called Nigerian best universities and still cant find their feet years after graduation. So, irrespective of where you are attending or have attended, create meaning for your lives. Dont let anybody tell you that your university is not good. Your destiny is in your hand, |

Web Market / Re: Web Hosting Companies in Nigeria by eolutosin(m): 11:04am On Nov 11, 2005 |
I have read all the contributions thus far and the comparism between Abimco and nairahost. Well, nairahost.com takes the burden off you as you dont have to pay one-term fee for the ABIMCO reseller plan. With nairahost, you only make payment whenever you place order. This implies that if you dont make order, you dont have to pay. Like Kayode said, nairahost domain reseller plan is still the cheapest. So, just look critically at what you are looking for and make ur choice. Check the services being offered at the sites and decide... |

Well, I would rather suggest that you pick up a Glo line in the meantime. I don't see any reason why you should keep on waiting for something that you are not sure would on soon. So, my friend, pick up a Glo line fast and start to 'Glo with Pride'. |
Business / Re: Company Registration In Nigeria by eolutosin(m): 8:54am On Apr 28, 2005 |
Yeah, I have had the opportunity to register 3 different companies in the past - 1 business name and 2 limited liability companies. As long as it'll be cheaper for you to do it yourself at the CAC office, I'd rather suggest that you talk to someone @ the CAC office who will be of help. I can help you out with the person who helped me if you so desire. My email address is eolutosin@gmail.com. The lady would be able to put you through on the basis of things you need. The amount you would eventually pay for the Limited Liability Registration depends on your share capital. When we did our registration then for 1 Million share capital, we ended up paying a total sum of 35k naira. This include the commission for the lady that helped us out. I heard that the cost has changed now, but it should not be more than the 50k. Moreover, you would need to supply the details of the shareholders and directors when registering also. Take care. |
Phones / Re: Phone Etiquette: When Your Phone Rings ... by eolutosin(m): 2:57pm On Apr 25, 2005 |
Hm... I guess it is no hard fast rule to this. I used to mention my name whenever I am answering a call from unknown number but I had to stop that 'cos of some funny things happening around. I mean some people who just got your number somehow and will like to get your details. So, I believe that it is really not a problem if you answer the call coming from an unknown number with a question requesting to know the identity of the person calling. |
Phones / Re: Glo Premium - Just for You by eolutosin(m): 2:50pm On Apr 25, 2005 |
Yeah... GLO gives you so many options . That explains why I opted for the NETWORK in the first instance. Do u know that you can also send free person-to-person MMS from now till 30 September? That's part of their plan to wrestle market share from competition. Anyway, keep on enjoying ya sista own but that will be for a while |
Romance / Re: Ingredients of a Healthy Relationship by eolutosin(m): 11:42am On Apr 25, 2005 |
Hm... quite interesting thus far. I will like to shed more light on the issue of commitment. To be committed, it does not necessary mean that both of you have known each other well, but u make up your minds to seek to know and understand each other more. This involves sacrifice and that's why it seems that many are still running away from serious relationship till date. So, as soon as you find who you feel you could spend the rest of your life with, I don't understand why you can't then go ahead to give it all it takes. enjoy |
Phones / Re: Glo Premium - Just for You by eolutosin(m): 11:18am On Apr 25, 2005 |
Hm... thanx for all the comments. Well, I use GLO and that gives me the opportunity to really understand the GLO Products. As regds GLO Direct not extended to Premium yet, this would be sorted out soon. Guess, they are already looking into that. Meanwhile, if you have any question on GLO product, u can get back to me. I should be able to render one helping hand or the other. Enjoy |
Romance / Re: Ingredients of a Healthy Relationship by eolutosin(m): 6:00pm On Apr 22, 2005 |
Well, my personal belief is that you should be free to express yourself before whoeever you are dating without the fear of being mocked. If you sense you will not be able to do this, then there is a problem somewhere. On the question of whether a lady can let a guy know she loves him. I don't see anything wrong in that. Some guys don't find it easy expressing themselves. So, it will do the lady and the guy a lot of good if the lady can help the guy out Anyway, let's embrace commitment. That's a strong key to maintaining health relationship. I want us to remember ths story of the chicken and the pig in bacon. The chicken is only involved while the pig is committed. So, let's move into deep commitment. enjoy |
Phones / Re: Globacom to Pay N 34 million Fine for Disobeying NCC Reconnection Order! by eolutosin(m): 5:41pm On Apr 22, 2005 |
Hm... sorry I am just replying this. I am just surprised at the turn of events. I still dont understand why NCC is deciding to make GLOBACOM the scapegoat. There had been cases of disconnection in the past and NCC didn't do anything about it. I just hope that they are doing this with good fate. Anyway, time will tell... |
