I will make room for two, you and I Jesus, you are all that matters..... Many will be familiar with those lyrics from the Minister GUC's song titled "ALL that matters". The question is whether a married person should sing these given that the lyrics relegate his/ her partner. In one YouTube video titled "Jealous Men", a man asks: if you make room for two, you and Jesus, where will your partner be? And if you sing that Jesus is all that matters, does that mean your partner does not matter? Watch video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxh9UwlNTmM |
Watch the gospel songs you sing if you are married or in a relationship.... ...this video titled "Jealous man" reveals that some gospel songs have lyrics not suitable for persons in relationships, and that singing them could cause problems in the relationship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxh9UwlNTmM |
eomajeh:Who else has seen this video? Mr Omor saying that some men get jealous when their partners sing some gospel songs... But why will someone married or in a relationship sing those such wrongs with lyrics extolling a god and seemingly relegating their partners ? I think he's right on that Minister GUC "all that matters" song. If a married person sings this (about making room for two, the person and Jesus), so where will his/ her partner be ??Watch the video... and tell us what you think about the topic ?? |
What the early man did not understand, he mystified. For example, they saw colours in the sky, did not understand this, and before long the story of the first rainbow is created with god at the center. Villagers could be dying. Of course, the early men had no understanding of germs, but before long they'll spin a story of a god being angry and punishing them for some sin committed. So god came from the mind of man - he/ she/ it (whatever pronoun god goes by) is a convenient explanation for the things early man did not understand. Primitive men created god to explain things their primitive minds did not understand. today, thing are a bit clearer. but god remains a convenient explanation for religious apologists. Theists like regressing things. This proceeds from the principle that everything must have a cause. Thus, some will ask u, "do u remember that u were once a sperm". They'll continue that u proceeded from ur father who proceeded from his father, and they keep regressing backward. But they are then faced with a problem; that of "infinite regress" - which is endlessly tracing backwards. To avoid this problem of infinite regress, they conveniently stop the regressing at a point they call god. So the already created god of primitive man is conveniently retained by today's man to solve the problem of infinite regress. man created god... this happened when man started seeking to understand his environment. |
MaxInDHouse:Ordinary Deeperlife and RCCG have refused to agree, no Pastor from Deeperlife is recognized in RCCG and never will Deeperlife themselves count any Pastor from RCCG as a qualified man of God. That's just a sign to show you that they're not on the same page so what evidence do you have as proof of your brotherhood in Christ o? ![]() You say RCCG and Deeperlife do not agree and you point to that as a sign that they are not on the same page, but i fail to see how JW is different. After all, JWs do not recognize RCCG or Deeperlife, and do not see any of their pastors as a qualified man of God. Is JWs not just a splinter christian group, just as Deeperlife, RCCG, or Mormon is? |
shadeyinka:Will I encourage my daughter to marry an unrepentant gambler, a religious fanatic, or a gigolo? No, I will not encourage her to. I will show her the dangers inherent in marrying a chronic gambler, a fanatic, or a gigolo. However, at the end of the day, it is her choice. I will not encourage it simply because they love one another ??Yes, I married my wife because I love her. But i loved her because she is a good person. In an earlier post, i said when i set out to get a wife, i looked for a good person. I did not jump into the emotive boat, and then rationalize away the waves. Chronic gambling, fanaticism, and gigolo-ism (if i may) are not elements that should be found in my definition of a good person. This does not mean that good persons should be flawless. I teach my daughter to use her head before being consumed (not just love). |
Hello all... I mentioned earlier in the thread that my wedding anniversary is in a few days. Well, today, my lovely wife and I celebrated our 7th year wedding anniversary. Yes, I remain a true atheist, and she remains a professed christian. Waking up this morning, my wife held my hand and said a short prayer. While she was at it, i was silent, looking at her and smiling joyfully. When she finished and said "Amen", i told her i love her. She said she loved me too. Surprised an atheist allow his wife hold his hand when she prayed well, that's because of balanced judgement. I know that in her heart she means well by praying, and that she wishes our union well with such prayers. I respect that. So sometimes when she asks with pleading eyes, and hold my hands, i consent. However, she respect me enough to not always expect my participation (though it is only passive). She respect enough to keep it short the times i join in. Also, she respect me enough to not overdo the prayer thing (with hyperactive vibrating, gibberish speaking in tongues, etc). You see, mutual respect is key. Even if you think your belief (or unbelief) is correct, respect the other's belief (or unbelief), and allow him/ her express it. Where possible, even make room for the expression of this belief (or unbelief). Do not force the other to accept your views. (belief or unbelief). Troubles brew when you insist you are right and the other is wrong. Trouble brew when you belittle the other person or trample on the views that he/ her treasures. Trouble brew when you try to push your views on the other. Some here have wondered why I say so little. it is because i really cannot stand the intolerance here (Sorry if this comes out wrong). Trust me, the Atheist me have stayed happily married to my Christian wife because we learned early to sweep off intolerance. My rice and beans comparison has been mentioned by some as too simplistic.... but that is actually how it is to us. We've seen our belief differences as a difference in taste. In fact, it is one reason it has worked out for us. For example, because i love rice and my wife love beans, i may not eat beans, but that does not mean i'll insist my wife also not eat beans. And it does not mean i will not buy a beans meal for my wife. As for our little girl, like i said earlier, we teach her how to think, not what to think. Yes, we give her rice, and we give her beans, letting her know rice is daddy's love and beans is mummy's love. "We" is highlighted for emphasis. Daddy does not shove his views down her throat, and mummy does not do that either. Trust me, the little girl knows more about Mummy's sky daddy and his supposedly holy book than most children her age. She just is not indoctrinated. Yes, she also knows the cracks in the sky-daddy tale (at least those her little brain can comprehend). Once again, happy anniversary to my Atheist self and my lovely Christian wife |

Yes, Understanding is key to make any relationship a success. As Mr Omor vividly explains in the hilarious video, a large intellectual gap can make for less understanding between partners. See the "IQ Levels" video well to get his point. |
In this hilarious video, Mr Omor say the problem is one of intellectual gap. Watch and enjoy... SUBSCRIBE and SHARe |
After watching this video, i learn that if the intellectual gap between two people is too much, the relationship will be a disaster. The funny Mr Omor in his hilarious ways explain that if the intellectual gap is not too much, the there'll be tolerance and understanding of one another, which makes for mutual growth. But if the intellectual gap is too much, the two persons will be less tolerant and understanding of one another, leading to acrimony. A fine case is then given to explain this. this video is a must-watch. It teaches and is hilarious at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpCHeoAtAo4 Also, subscribe to the channel, and share to spread the lessons and laughter . . |
Hilarious, but full of lessons... If the intellectual gap is too much, tolerance of one another tends to disappear, and that is where the problems start coming in. The contribution of the one (very low IQ person) is disregarded as meaningless, and the contribution of the other (very high IQ person) is seen as an attack/ insult, etc watch, learn, laugh..... Many persons opine that the country has been in a standstill or have even regressed since President Buhari came into power. Many reasons have been offered for this. Mr Omor in this video gives a very leftish reason. See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpCHeoAtAo4 |

The case is on point. It's a very good (though hilarious) explanation for why the country is in its pitiable state. |
Many persons, especially motivational speakers, will tell you that you should associate with someone whose IQ is higher than yours so that their intelligence will rub off on you. In a very thought-provoking, insightful, and hilarious video, Mr Omor explains that an association between some one of low IQ and another of high IQ do not always bring good result. According to him, if the difference in IQ levels between the two persons is not too much, there will be tolerance and understanding of one another, leading to good result. But if the difference in IQ levels is much, tolerance and understanding of one another disappears, leading to problems. He proceeded to use the country as a case, explaining that the country is now in shambles because of this issue of very low IQ and very high IQ mismatch. Watch the video here (SUBSCRIBE, watch, like, and SHARE): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpCHeoAtAo4 What are your thoughts on the topic?? Is "very low IQ + very high IQ = disaster"? |
You won't find a more hilarious explanation for why the country is in its abysmal state. Watch and enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpCHeoAtAo4 Don't watch alone... Let's spread this. SUBSCRIBE and SHARE |
fine discussion.... But i as i go through it, the only conclusion in sight is that "religion divides". I see persons who call themselves true christians vilifying a fine christian woman who has been a model wife in a happy marriage for 7 years. To these persons, her crime is marrying an atheist. Some of these persons quote verses in the christian holy book to justify the concealed enmity they have towards others not aligning with them in faith, especially atheists. Is this not the same as Muslims calling others not aligning with them in faith as infidels? Know that they also quote verses in their holy book for justification. If we look at one another as individuals, and really respect one another, we really can live together irrespective of our religious differences. And for those concerned about the children of the union, know that atheist (at least my kind) don't go proselytizing. I teach our kids to have an open mind. I remember my girl once asking me whether I or mummy was right about the god subject; and my answer was why she thought either of us was right. Trust me, the little girl has been taught more christian stuff than kids in many all-christian home. But importantly, she's learned to avoid some fallacies, such as the fallacy of false dilemma. daddy may like rice, and mummy may like beans, but she can like either or neither. That's up to her. We don't teach her what to think; we teach her how to think. So please, stop all the enmity (whether overt or concealed). Respect one another's (especially your partners') taste/ preferences. Don't see your taste as superior. Don't force your taste on others. And you'll find that just as a rice-person and a beans-person can be successfully married, so a christain and an atheist can be successfully married. |
