Even Bayern and City fans complain about the players when they're not playing well...
Correct. We're doing well

That's so sad.

Looks like Carrick has given up on Ugarte as an option to strengthen the midfield when we're under pressure.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 10:32pm On Feb 10
They're not even shooting from outside in this game. They just want to dance into the 18 with the ball

This has been my view since 2021, Retain any coach performing on a rolling contract, once result is not favouring them then sack them
Why do you think any coach that feel they are worth something will accept something like this?

I'm just happy city were already winning. We're already in top 4, we don't need LFC breathing down our necks from behind

But I still don't understand why the third goal was canceled for Manchester City. Haaland and Uzugbu both foul each other. Why not happy common sense to it by allowing the gold to stand and that's it.
Thinking about it now, I realize refs do overlook some fouls if there is an advantage. The same could have been applied here. Maybe because LFC players were protesting seriously and VAR had to be applied. If VAR wasn't applied, the ref could have left the goal and ignore the fouls, but with VAR, they have to go by what the rule says. Fortunately, City were already winning

In the words of Odion Ighalo(paraphrased):
Sometimes you just have to smash it

It's one of the things I have been most impressed with since Carrick took the job. We won't have beaten Arsenal if the approach was to dribble into the box.

Crosses and a mobile front 3 can also be very effective in breaking down low blocks. That was Cavani's food during Ole's time
It's very noticeable and I won't lie it's impressive.

Tottenham showed why they're in the bottom half yesterday. We were very comfortable for the whole 90 minutes. I can imagine the kind of pressure Frank is that he is not able to take risks. I really feel sorry for him. He's supposed to be one of the good coaches in the country

Ugarte just useless
Over useless. I just thought about Ugarte and Mainoo in the midfield and I burst into laugh. I could be wrong though. It will be interesting to see how we move on from Casemiro
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 11:29am On Feb 08
We are shooting from outside which is good against low block. We're not trying to enter the 18 everytime. That's good for the team.

Dalot is benefitting from Amad's work rate. He is not needed to do a lot in attack. I think this has made the backline more solid.

We just need to avoid any new injuries, especially for Casemiro

For the first time in many years, Fulham approached the game scared for what we could have done to them. We scored 2 goals and looked a safe bet for the win until that penalty decision...

Whether you admit it or not, we look a much better team playing with this formation, much better than we ever looked under that useless Amorim Bin Laden setup.

I know you so badly want that 'I told you so' moment...
Ah the moment will come soon no worry.

Just go through the comments here before the second goal to confirm what people thoughts and reactions were during the match. Even after the second goal, we were still not comfortable. I hear it's because it was Fulham and they are currently the best team in the league, though they have just 2 wins in 6 matches or so.

I see you're one of those that get excited quickly over results irrespective of how we get it, but the bad news is that if things don't improve the excitement will clear soon and we will turn on the coach because we will not always be lucky with the results

I am talking about their performances again top and decent teams. No one can deny the fact that Fulham is a very good side!
So just like us, they turn up against big teams and struggle against smaller teams? Noted

Bro the boys turned up. I don’t know what you are on about. Did you watch the full match?

Fullham have been a very stubborn team, check their results against other big teams.

Man United played well, they put in the work, they did everything one could ask for. Though things got messy towards the end.
I watched the match. Fulham was able to keep the ball and sustain pressure for a long time in the match. Most of our players were in our half for most of the second half. Even the first half, we were not that good on the ball

What do you have to say now? Isn't this a show of mental toughness?
LOL that post was after we made it 3:2. This was at Old Trafford, and against Fulham. We could have easily drawn this game or even lost. We won't always be this lucky. They had more possession at Old Trafford and we played a midfield 3. Who did they have in the midfield that made them able to push us back and sustain pressure till they made it 2:2?

It easy to play counter attack while using passion to power through against the big teams, the small teams is a different thing entirely.

We badly need midfielders that can control the tempo of a game and progress the ball from deep.

The small teams will continue to expose how weak our midfield is no matter the formation deployed.
Those small teams are the banana peels we need to avoid. And we must beat them convincingly, at least most of the matches. Even if the score does not reflect the dominance, the stats should

To be fair, Fulham is a pain in the neck. They beat Chelsea, Liverpool, played 4-5 against City, beat Tottenham and Brighton. These are all recent games. I will judge against the likes of Everton and Westham.
Fulham and Everton are on the same point o and Fulham have only won 2 in the last 6

This is very annoying...
This is the mentality I was talking about the other day. This team has shown over the years to always raise their game when meeting the top teams like City. But they fall flat when they meet lower teams. I remember explaining this to you the other day but you didn't want to listen

United will surely get some experienced midfielders with Casemiro and Ugarte (possibly) leaving, maybe loans moves would be best option for Thwaites, Kone and even Chido Obi-Martins.
Yeah I expect them to get at least two midfielders. However we can't groom two CM at the same time from the academy. The best they can do is one at a time. So maybe one next season and the other goes on loan

Jim is a talented midfielder, but United will likely sign experience first team midfielders next season so him and Kone may never get the chance...
He will get his chance in cup competitions if he's that talented and rated. The problem is that if they get knocked out early, they should forget about any chance again. Also if meaningful results are hard to come by and there's pressure on the first team, they'll hardly get a chance
