A government that fails to build more schools would definitely build more prisons. I don't know how our government were expecting the youths not to embrace fraud when they have failed to create an environment fro these youths to thrive. More so, in a scociety that glorifies fraud especially by those in political offices. The only mistake Naira Marley made was to talk about it openly. They'd rather have him remain quite about it whilst the menace lingers.

Wow! Your words are deep. I wish our youths would see the depth of sense in this.

Nonnyad:
I'm a bit new in this thread but it's obvious that there are people here who are really out to help people..
Thank you all for all your inputs in this thread..

Now to my question, please I was invited for the aptitude test for graduate trainees, I'm an electrical engineering graduate, please I want to know if it's really worth it seeing that kpmg is mainly into auditing or so..
Cos I don't stay in Lagos, and I will have to go borrow money for transport if it's actually worth it. . . Cos it's looking like the process is a very long one..

So, please help a brother out, considering that I'm an engineering graduate who also stays very far from Lagos, should I go for the aptitude test?
Please, if possible, help out with reasons...
By all means pls. Your numerical background is an advantage.

He is not,
The countries he mentioned are paying for power supply because they are seeing and using it. Unlike Nigeria a community that has not use power for over a month will still be charged and when you refused to pay this nepa guys will cut your wire, and you expect the people to be happy.
I repeat, he is not wise
He is very right bro. It is high time we told ourselves the truth. You cannot use power because yesterday, there was a report that 50% of energy generated in Nigeria are stolen. When the energy is stolen, how does it get to you? Do you know how huge that is? Or you expect the distribution companies that are supposedly running at a loss to finance metering even when Fashola said it would cost about 220 billion naira? If it were that easy, the government would have cleared the metering mess prior to privatization. We all (government, power companies and the masses) have a role to play here, the bulk of which lies with the government.

Most nigerians don't pay their light bills but they will still be ones to condemn and criticize phcn officials when they don't give them electricity. Nothing in life is free people. The Ghana, ivory Coast, Niger republic, that their citizens enjoy stable electricity supply do pay for it. Just look at how this one is fighting an official over what he is supposed to pay.

If you don't want to use PHCN electricity, go get yourself a solar panel and if you can't afford one, buy a generator.
A wise man.

IIWWM:
For the sake of posterity, I'll talk about my experience here.

Well first of all, my interview was scheduled for 8.30am but we didn't start till about several minutes past 10am and that was with the group discussion. We were split into two groups, five persons in each group in separate rooms and different panels.

So basically the group discussion is a time to work "together" with your colleagues, communicate and contribute valid points while being time conscious. One of us volunteered to moderate, and then he asked for further volunteers as timekeeper, note taker and presenter. After the group discussion, we were all re-directed to the waiting room and were invited in turns for the panel interview (the interview is in order of arrival so if you want to leave early, get there earlier than others).

The interview is more like a chat, but trust me its the most important because although you have to be comfortable, you have to demonstrate key competencies they're looking for. Don't go and goof in the name of being comfortable.

Basically you should expect questions like Tell me about yourself, what would you have done differently during your group discussion, how did others perform, and why PwC or assurance or tax or advisory or whatever unit you've applied for. Your replies from then determines the questions that'll follow, behavioral questions mostly. So the catch is just to be honest because they can pick something you've said and ask you to elaborate.

Other questions include:
Tell us about a time you had to complete a project within a short time
Tell us how you've improved your technical skills
What certifications do you have
Tell us how engineering has prepared you for a role in PwC
How do you stay abreast with information and tell us one local and one foreign news
Tell us how you handled your suggestion in a group that met resistance
Tell us how you contributed to the success of a project
How important is communication to you in your work environment
Tell us how you've used your communication skills in your job roles (because I'm currently working)
Tell us about a time you added value to your team
Do you have any questions for us.

An interview duration lasts for 30 - 40 minutes on average.

I wish you all the best!

Ps: I hope I've been direct in my explanations but if you have any questions please ask here as I hardly check PMs sent via emails.
Pls When did you have interview? Yesterday or today?

they will still give the police, nscdc, vgn, army and all to go about with them disconnecting...why tell us not to pay when you can enforce them not to bring bills.
@bolded is right on point. Why I always say there's a lot these guys are not telling us. NERC's advice reeks so much of lies, insincerity and hypocrisy. 24 hours supply is still a fantansy. What a country!

The politics around this power sector is always funny. At the moment, the same government is finding it hard to meet its obligations to GENCOs through NBET. When there is system collapse on the grid that is being managed by TCN (still wholly owned by the government), you still bill DISCOs, it's basic business sense that they pass such cost to the consumers. Naija na joke! grin

Kokaine:
I gave up that life and I'm happier now.

Honestly, I never believed I could change. I realised the more I indulged in the world, the heavier the burden my heart felt. I was truely depressed. I was bleeding deep inside. I needed God!

But then.... I was told that if a man came to Allah walking, Allah will come to the person running.

And Allah is more pleased with the repentance of his slave than a man who finds his lost camel with water in the desert.

I went on sujood( prostration ) in the depth of the night. Then I prayed. Yes I did pray! I prayed like I could imagine I was in front of God. I was sure HE could see me and hear me. I shed tears. I really asked for His Help.

You know, theres this R-kelly song i used to play as a boy.. Prayers change, prayers changes things. My whole life changed. I found peace. Not in the things I used to do in the past, but in looking at the world from another perspective. One that recognises the fact that we are only on earth for a predetermined period of time, and that our Creator is The Most High and most merciful. In the past I never believed prayers were heard or answered. I found a healing I could never have gotten from the best clothes, the fastet cars, cigs, and the illest of drinks.

I gave up many things by His grace. Things I had indulged in for more than 16 years in my life. Things I never knew I could possibly stop.
I stopped listening to 2pac biggie and other rap music, gave up porn, gave up many things that burden the heart. I don't like to see prostitutes at all now. I literally became happy and free. No more suicidal fantacies, no temper issues. I changed by His grace! I focused on my finances, learned more skills, took online courses to improve my profile, spread love, helped people more and interacted with kids just to put a smile on every face I crossed path with.

So if youre trapped in this duniya (worldly desires) like I was, I want to encourage you. I want to share with you that God loves you. God wants you to turn to Him and He will show you the mercy you have never imagined. Don't drink any more, don't soak yourself in that depression, don't think about suicide, there is a way out trust me. I was there! God is the way out!
I love your testimony. God bless you.

Guys...so there’s something I do not seem to understand. I applied for Tax and Assurance. However, you’d notice that the pdf sent was only for Advisory and Assurance and even in the latter, nothing was mentioned on Tax. So at what point do they group/separate Tax from Assurance. Do we get to choose? And who has anything on operations of the PwC Tax unit so as not to leave any stone unturned. Thanks and happy Easter.

Great. Considering the ripple effects their corrupt practices have on the average Nigerian, this penalty is not even stiff enough. The law supercedes all. I hope other corrupt public officials are convicted in no distant time. Let this serve as a deterrent to others.
